Jinder Mahal’s Indian promotion is heading to television. Wrestling Xtreme Mania (WXM), where the former WWE Champion works as Raj The Maharaja, will premiere its weekly show Ground Zero on Unite8 Sports and stream it on ZEE5 starting Friday, October 23.
Mahal announced the deal on X. “We recognized a huge opportunity in the Indian wrestling market and have been working behind the scenes to bring this vision to life,” he wrote. “October 23, Pro Wrestling returns to television in India on Unite8 Sports and streams on ZEE5. @Official_WXM is going mainstream.”
The official poster lists the premiere at 6:00 PM, with Veedol as associate partner and Delhi Tourism as tourism partner.
Why the Zee deal matters for WXM
Unite8 Sports is Zee Entertainment’s new sports network. Zee announced the launch in May: Unite8 Sports 1 and 1 HD in Hindi, Unite8 Sports 2 and 2 HD in English, with wrestling and combat sports listed alongside football, cricket and kabaddi. Zee later credited the FIFA World Cup 2026 with drawing 60 million new viewers to the channels.
That’s a big jump in reach. Ground Zero launched as a weekly YouTube series last December, and in April a TrillerTV partnership put the show on TrillerTV’s free tier worldwide. ZEE5 gives it a domestic streaming home, and Unite8 puts it on Indian linear TV.
Mahal has been the face of the company since Powerbomb, WXM’s first event at Mumbai’s NSCI Dome on May 2, 2025, where he signed his WXM contract in the ring and beat Sha Samuels in the main event. He reportedly left WXM’s latest tapings in India as the promotion’s first heavyweight champion. He’s also been open about building his own brand outside WWE, telling TMZ Sports this summer that Vince McMahon once threatened to fire him a month before his WWE title win.
A rival promotion in the mix
The TV deal lands six months after a split at the top of WXM. Co-founder and COO Jeet Rama stepped away in March, and booker and head writer Mansoor followed him out. In May, Rama launched Pro Wrestling Rebellion with Mansoor, former ICW owner Mark Dallas and executive producer Scott Fillan, all of whom had left WXM.
CEO Rishi Singh still leads WXM, and Mahal tops a roster that pairs Indian talent with international names such as Samuray Del Sol, Donovan Dijak and Axel Tischer. Now that roster has a weekly television slot to build on.
