Joe Hendry is the new NXT Champion. The Scottish star captured the vacant title on Tuesday's episode of WWE NXT, outlasting six other competitors in a ladder match.

Hendry defeated Ricky Saints, Shiloh Hill, Sean Legacy, Dion Lennox, Keanu Carver, and EVOLVE Men's Champion Jackson Drake to claim his first NXT Championship. Remarkably, Hendry competed while nursing bruised ribs after being attacked backstage by Drake and The Vanity Project last week.

The match delivered several memorable moments, including Shiloh Hill using two broken ladder halves as stilts and Keanu Carver requiring multiple competitors to bury him under ladders to neutralize his dominance.

The finish saw Hendry and former NXT Champion Ricky Saints battling atop the ladder in a tug-of-war for the title. Saints paused to hit his signature pose, allowing Hendry to strike him with the championship belt and send him crashing onto a bridged ladder below, securing the victory.

The title was vacated by Oba Femi at New Year's Evil after his call-up to WWE's main roster. Tuesday's episode also saw Robert Stone named Interim NXT General Manager following Ava's departure from WWE.
