ByAnutosh BajpaiProfessional Wrestling Journalist

Finn Balor has arrived.

The former Universal Champion made his first appearance on SmackDown this week after being moved to the Blue Brand from Raw. He competed in a first-round King of the Ring tournament match that main evented the show.

The wrestling veteran had a couple of interesting interactions before this match. Cathy Kelley was interviewing Finn Balor about his arrival on the brand earlier in the night, while R-Truth interrupted the segment, talking about a Judgment Day reunion.

Truth’s tag team partner Damian Priest, then walked into the frame. The two shared a tense moment before Balor walked out, saying that he had a match to prepare for.

These weren’t the only names from his past that Balor met on the show. While he was getting ready to make his entrance for his bout, Finn ran into former Bullet Club teammate Tama Tonga.

In the end, the former World Champion was unable to pick up the victory in the King of The Ring match, and it was Jey Uso who advanced into the tournament after pinning LA Knight.

The show did give us a good look at what the SmackDown run will look like for Balor, however, showing how the former NJPW star will have no shortage of stories from his past to revisit.

Who will advance to the King of the Ring final?
