Kenny Omega is playing for big stakes.
This past Sunday's Revolution PPV saw Swerve Strickland picking up a singles victory over Brody King. Things ended on a tense note after The Cleaner made the save for King as Strickland went for a post-match beatdown.
The two former AEW World Champions then addressed their encounter on this week's episode of Dynamite. In a backstage promo, Kenny proposed a rematch of their February 18 bout, in which Strickland had picked up the victory. Omega asked Swerve to put his #1 contendership for AEW title on the line in this bout.

The former Mogul Embassy leader responded to the AEW EVP in the ring later in the night, with a promo of his own. Swerve Strickland opened his promo talking about power.
The 35-year-old mentioned that he had no idea he was the #1 contender but questioned the point of winning the title if he did not have the power to protect it. Strickland then threw a curveball, asking Kenny to put his EVP status on the line if he truly wanted the rematch.

The former IWGP World Champion must have agreed to the stipulation backstage as the company later made the match official for next week's episode of the Wednesday night show.
