Killer Kross says the door to AEW has “always been open” while keeping the specifics of any potential discussions with Tony Khan private out of mutual respect.
Kross appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show on Wednesday, discussing his post-WWE career since departing the company in the summer of 2025. He remains a free agent while competing on the independent circuit as the MLW World Heavyweight Champion, without signing an exclusive deal with any promotion.
When Helwani raised the question of AEW talks, Kross declined to confirm or deny direct conversations with Khan, while making clear his respect for him.
This is what I will say: I have a tremendous amount of respect for Tony and he knows that. And I prefer to keep those conversations private out of respect for Tony and myself.
Asked directly whether a door to AEW exists.
I think it’s always been open. I think it’s always been open.
On his broader approach to bookings and opportunities.
If everything aligns, I think anything is possible.
Kross also praised AEW World Champion MJF as someone he would love to work with. On TNA, he was similarly noncommittal, leaving all doors open.
I’ve spoken with many people from all places. I’ve been available for conversations with anybody and everybody, and I’ve always kept it that way. There’s no bad blood with me or anybody anywhere. My phone is always on for those conversations.
Kross and his wife, Scarlett, departed WWE in August 2025 after failing to reach terms on new contracts. Tony Khan said in November 2025 that he had not spoken with Kross in many years but thought it would be interesting to reconnect.
