Killer Kross Talks MLW Title Reign, 'SuperFight' & Future

Killer Kross opens up about his MLW Championship reign, 'SuperFight,' and future.

One could say Killer Kross has had a hell of a run with the MLW Heavyweight Championship ever since winning the gold at Battle Riot VIII. With his wife Scarlett Bordeaux by his side, the promotion’s top guy shows what he can do when given the ball. One that the dedicated performer fought for in all the companies he has worked for, from TNA to WWE.

Next comes an imposing challenge against Josh Bishop in a Last Man Standing Match at MLW SuperFight on November 7. This is the main event of a star-studded card, the brand’s first pay-per-view in seven years. It has been such a whirlwind 2026 that Kross admits he hadn’t had a chance to reflect much on what was accomplished this year.

It’s just been go, go, go. I haven’t had that reflection period yet. I feel like that’s going to come to me in December when I try to take some time off…God willing, if that’s even possible,” he said. “It has been a tremendous year. I’m so happy to be on board and to have the privilege to represent the company, especially through what I would consider to be a positive transition period where we’re getting involved with Veeps and streaming services, etc. and all that stuff. So, it has been wonderful. Painful, but wonderful.

Those words might not be used to describe his rival this weekend. However, Kross does see a bright future for Bishop.

I think he’s the perfect throwback. A lot of people say that he reminds them of a Sid Justice, Sid Vicious type thing,” Kross said. “Of course, he has nuances. He’s not just a carbon copy of Sid. He does a lot of different things that maybe Sid wouldn’t be willing to do. But, yeah, he is a wild man, and I think he’s perfect for what fans are looking for in terms of diversity in pro wrestling…I feel like he is a legitimate big man, like.when that guy’s walking through the airport, people either think he’s a pro wrestler, a fighter, a football player, or like, I don’t know, maybe like a hired killer. So, he’s great to have on the show. Any company would be very lucky to have him.”

SuperFight features an infusion of CMLL and New Japan Pro-Wrestling talent. Among them is the IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji, who is set to face Trevor Lee. Perhaps, down the road we get MLW champion versus IWGP champion?

“I’m open to all of that,” Kross said. “I am interested in competing in Japan in the near future. I didn’t want to do it this year, although I do think there were opportunities to go because I had accepted appearances and obligations and stuff like that.six to seven months out before anyone even knew I was going to be there in a lot of places, like conventions. Then I was working on another film.

So, in order to go overseas, I’d probably have to close the door on all that stuff, and if you’re promoted and you make an agreement, that’s no good, right? I am interested in going to Japan, and more than likely will do that next year. In terms of doing it at MLW, I’m open to all of that. I’m wide open to doing all that here in North America. And I think it’s good. I think the fans really win with stuff like this. I think MLW can be an excellent common ground for a lot of independent companies to show up and put on the best shows possible for people to watch. So it’s a win-win situation for everybody.”

Kross has been one of those self-starters who leaned into all the resources available to him to put himself out there to the masses. His post-WWE career trajectory only ascended higher thanks to working for promotions around the world. Kross and Scarlett have marketed themselves as a proven draw. However, looking into 2027, there is more to do. Though the in-demand star also knows the importance of avoiding burnout. At the same time, there is also a method to his booking madness.

A  lot of stuff I’ve deliberately left off the table. I just politely declined it this year, even though it was available to do, because I don’t want to exhaust everything,” Kross explained. “I don’t want to give  everything away, everywhere, for everybody, just in one shot. You’re going to see me in a lot more places next year doing much bigger things. I’m having the time of my life right now, man, sincerely, and I can’t wait to show everybody what’s next.

Kross has the same high hopes for MLW as it expands the global footprint. He’d love to see even more crossovers, not necessarily MLW versus another company.

“I think that combining shows…having a combined show of, let’s say, MLW and DEFY, or MLW and House of Glory, or MLW and, I don’t know, World Series Wrestling,” Kross said. “I think there’s stuff on the table for that to be done. I don’t necessarily know if I would be the point man for that. I’d certainly be more than happy to put people in touch, but there’s an opportunity to cast a wide net to bring even more fans together than we already have at these shows, to combine companies to give them super shows. That’s ideally what I would like to see, and I think we need to move very quickly on that, because, to me, it’s common knowledge, and eventually someone’s going to do it. So if we don’t do it very quickly, someone else is going to.
