Lissy Almeida Named MLW's First Female Ring Announcer

Major League Wrestling has signed Lissy Almeida as its official ring announcer, making her the first woman to hold the role in company history. She has inked a multi-year deal with the promotion.

Almeida got her break with the promotion in January, serving as an announcer to warm up the crowd at a Florida event. According to sources within MLW, the company came away impressed with her energy and how well she worked within the team environment, leading to the long-term commitment.

MLW Continues Roster Expansion

The signing is the latest move in what has been an aggressive talent acquisition push by MLW as the promotion marches toward the return of MLW Fusion. Details on the new season of the flagship series have not yet been announced.

MLW has been on a significant growth trajectory of late, taping new episodes of Fusion at a sold-out Cicero Stadium in Chicago and hosting Fantastica Mania USA in Charleston alongside NJPW and CMLL. The company has also recently signed former WWE performer Trevor Lee to a contract, further stacking its roster ahead of the new season.
