The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods may be closing in on a new home, and it sounds like AEW is the destination.
According to Fightful Select, sources wouldn’t outright confirm signings for Kingston and Woods (working under the name Austin Creed), but indicated it’s expected the pair will be joining AEW soon.
No firm timeline has been confirmed, though speculation is already building around a possible appearance at All In 2026 from Wembley Stadium later this month.

While the sources wouldn’t outright confirm the acquisitions of Austin Creed and Kofi, it was noted that it is expected that they are joining the company soon as well.
Adding fuel to that speculation, it was announced just days ago that Kingston and Woods will appear as guests on Chris Jericho’s next Rock n’ Wrestling Rager at Sea cruise, marking the seventh year of the event.
The cruise sails from Miami to Bimini, Bahamas, from November 7-11, 2026, and will also feature Harley Cameron, Lady Frost, Myla Grace, The Great Muta, Ted DiBiase, The Hardys, and Elayna Black among its lineup.
The potential move comes not long after AJ Styles publicly questioned WWE’s decision to release both The New Day and the Motor City Machine Guns, citing his own history with both teams and arguing their value goes well beyond flashy in-ring work.
The New Day AEW Debut Soon?
On latest edition of AEW Dynamite, Swerve made his return and he now needs to find himself two partners the current AEW Trios Champions, Adam Page, Brody King, and Bandido. This has also led to speculation that this is how the New Day will debut in AEW.
If Kingston and Woods do land in AEW, it would mark one of the highest-profile tag team additions to the promotion this year.
