A surprise title change on SmackDown.
The October 23 episode of the blue brand’s show featured a number of women’s matches, including Giulia vs. Blake Monroe in a Street Fight, Chelsea Green defending her Women’s Championship against Roxanne Perez and Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley defending their Women’s Tag Team Championships against B-Fab & Michin.
Jade Cargill was in the corner of the challengers for the last match, and she proved to be the differentiating factor in the end. The champs looked to be in control of the bout until Paxley missed a 450 Splash as Mia Yim moved out of the way.
Tatum then attempted a Cemetery Drive, but Yim managed to escape, and she then sent the defending champion crashing into the ropes. This allowed Cargill to deliver a cheap shot to the former NXT star, followed by a Styles Clash by Michin for the victory.
Bliss and Paxley had only won the title from Fatal Influence earlier this month during the October 9 episode of SmackDown. The loss ends their reign at just 14 days. This is the first WWE title reign for Michin and the first championship of B-Fab’s wrestling career.
