The Motor City Machine Guns have resurfaced in Ring of Honor.
Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin made a surprise appearance at Monday’s ROH TV tapings at WJCT Studios in Jacksonville, Florida. The pair got a strong reaction from the crowd and hit their signature pose. They did not wrestle.
It was their first on-screen appearance since disappearing from AEW programming again.
Shelley and Sabin signed with AEW after appearing on the July 30 edition of Collision in their hometown of Detroit. They were then off television for about a month. They came back at All In: London on August 30, joining several other tag teams after the AEW World Tag Team Championship match. They later wrestled on Collision before dropping off TV again.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp previously reported that the duo wanted to finish independent bookings they had committed to before signing with AEW.
Tony Khan praised the team after All In, calling them “tremendous” and saying he had been a fan of both for many years.
The Motor City Machine Guns are one of the most decorated tag teams in wrestling, with tag team titles in WWE, TNA, ROH and NJPW. They were released by WWE in April.
FTR’s Dax Harwood recently named them among the five best tag teams of the last 30 years on AEW’s roster.
