When reached out about the turn of events, the Anthem-owned promotion released a short statement to PWInsider, stating, "TNA wrestlers were pulled due to partner conflicts."

Fightful Select provided some backstage updates on the matter later on, revealing that these two weren't the only matches the promotion had blocked. According to the report, TNA had also stopped a bout between Bear Bronson and MJF planned for GCW in March.
