A John Cena chant came right at Nikki Bella on the recent SmackDown tapings, and she chose to fire back right then and there.
Both WWE superstars were in a long-term relationship that was heavily publicized. They were even set to get married before irreconcilable differences led them to part ways in 2017. Despite that, Nikki Bella has often had to revisit her past, and this week’s SmackDown tapings were no different.
In a clip posted on X by a fan who was in attendance, Nikki Bella attacked her current rival, Paige, who had just lost a singles match to Jacy Jayne. As the WWE Hall of Famer lifted Paige for the Rack Attack 2.0, fans showered her with “Cena” chants.
Nikki noticed and said, “What?” and a fan behind the commentary desk chanted, “John Cena.”The Fearless One responded by saying “Yeah” in a mocking manner before hitting Paige with the move. You can see the clip below:
Nikki Bella and John Cena were one of the top WWE couples in the mid-2010s. However, Bella’s desire to have children and Cena’s not wanting to led to their high-profile split. Following that, Bella married Artem Chigvinstev, but their marriage ended two years ago following the domestic violence and battery controversy. Meanwhile, Cena married Shay Shariazadeh in 2020 and remains happily married.
As for Nikki Bella’s WWE run, her feud with Paige has been a top program for SmackDown. So, it will be interesting to see if it leads to a huge singles match between the two pioneers of the Women’s Revolution.
