NFL legend Pat McAfee recently explained his alliance with Randy Orton on last week's SmackDown. The former NFL punter turned commentator was unveiled as the mystery caller who had been motivating Orton in recent weeks.
McAfee questioned Rhodes' leadership of WWE. He declared that everything in the company is terrible without Orton at the forefront.
Pat McAfee Details Phone Conversations With Randy Orton
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, he revealed the conversations began after Orton appeared on his program at the NFL Combine. He explained his motivation for reaching out to the 14-time world champion.
My daughter is about to turn three years old. I would like her to be a wrestling fan, but I would like wrestling to be what wrestling is supposed to be, especially at the top of the card. 6'5", 275 pounds of perfection from the wrestling Gods has been sitting here this whole time. Is it on TV all day, every day? Absolutely not. He was actually sent home for six months recently. What? How is this guy being sent home?
McAfee expressed frustration that 'The Viper' hasn't been featured more prominently. He positioned Orton's potential 15th world championship win at WrestleMania as the key to saving WWE's future.
Everything Without Orton Is "Shite"
McAfee made his stance clear on what WWE programming should prioritize moving forward.
Anything that doesn't involve Randy, in my eyes, shite. If Randy Orton is involved, good. Just know, we got some things cooking. Future wrestling fans are going to look back on the night in Vegas and say, 'That was the moment that that GOAT saved the entire business.' Thank you, Randy.
