Rhea Ripley Clarifies WWE Return Status Amid Injury Hiatus

Rhea Ripley didn’t mean to spark a wave of comeback speculation but a simple video clip did exactly that, and she moved quickly to manage expectations.

Footage shared on September 23 on TikTok showed Ripley walking briskly near a wrestling ring without the large knee brace she’d been wearing since undergoing meniscus surgery in August.

Fans immediately took it as a sign her recovery was progressing faster than expected. Ripley noticed the reaction and clarified things herself on social media, joking that walking and wrestling are very different, that she’d only just relearned how to walk the week before, and asking fans to stay patient with her.

Walking and wrestling are very different ? learnt how to walk last week so don’t get too excited, stay patient with me.

Just weeks earlier, Ripley had been spotted on crutches with a heavy knee brace following the surgery, and WWE has been cautious about attaching any firm timetable to her return.

This latest update shows real progress, but by Ripley’s own account, walking comfortably again is only one early milestone. Getting back to in-ring form is a separate step still ahead of her.
