Sami Zayn has ascended to the pinnacle of WWE again and had an emotional moment right after.
The Underdog from the Underground finally got his rematch for the Undisputed WWE title against CM Punk on SmackDown in Mexico City. The match turned into chaos toward the end, with interference from Johnny Gargano and Kevin Owens. This allowed Zayn to hit Punk with the title and Helluva Kick in the final moments, pin him, and become champion again.
In a video posted by WWE on X, Zayn can be seen walking up the ramp. As soon as he exited the stage and came backstage, the Last Real Good Guy broke down in tears and took a moment to soak it in. You can watch the clip below:
Sami Zayn achieved his lifelong dream of winning the Undisputed WWE Championship at Night of Champions 2026. However, just nine days later, he dropped the title to CM Punk on RAW. Since that night, Zayn has been constantly pushing for a rematch and getting involved in the title picture.
The Underdog finally got his chance after almost three months in a singles bout against Punk in Mexico City, and he regained the title amid chaos and using some underhanded tactics. Regardless of that, Sami Zayn is your new Undisputed WWE Champion.
