Santos Escobar says he'll be out for months.
The Mexican star last wrestled in a fatal four-way match at the AAA Rey de Reyes 2026. He went up against the two El Grande Americano and La Parka, but failed to win the bout.
Some fans showed concern about his movements during the match, and it was later reported that Escobar had actually been working the show hurt.
The Mexican star hurt his shoulder during a singles match with AAA Latin American Champion El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. back in January. He was said to be set for a torn tricep surgery this week after aggravating the injury in the latest AAA show.
Santos Escobar Confirms Injury
The 41-year-old seemed to confirm these reports in a video posted by the company on their social platforms this Wednesday. Clutching his arm, Santos Escobar said that he will be out of action for months and warned Wagner Jr. about what will happen when he does come back:
The medical report says I'll be out for months....months. This is what I do. To provide for my family, my legacy. And you messed with it.
When I come back. Because you better believe I'm coming back. I'm not just coming for that title. This time, I'm coming for what you value the most. What you say is the most beautiful thing in Mexican Lucha Libre. Be careful what you wish for.
There is no word on the exact timetable of return for Escobar but we should get a better idea after his surgery. Stay tuned for more updates.
