US Senator Calls Bad Bunny to AEW

U.S. Senator Ruben Gallego has publicly urged AEW President Tony Khan to bring Bad Bunny into All Elite Wrestling, tagging both Khan and Bad Bunny in a social media post.

Gallego wrote, “@TonyKhan it’s time for @AEW to solidify a huge fan base. @sanbenito love wrestling, need him to make some appearances. Just no stretcher match please,” referencing Bad Bunny’s physical in-ring style.

AEW has increasingly become a home for politically engaged fans who are outspoken on issues like LGBTQ+ rights and, more recently, immigration, creating a fan culture that often overlaps with broader social movements.

In that context, the idea of Bad Bunny—a mainstream star who has worked with the more MAGA-friendly WWE, recently condemned ICE at the Grammys, and is performing the Super Bowl halftime show in a heated political climate—showing up in AEW adds an extra layer of cultural and political intrigue to Gallego’s pitch.

Bad Bunny previously delivered a widely praised San Juan Street Fight performance against Damian Priest at WWE Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico, earning strong reviews as one of WWE’s top celebrity performers.

The senator’s endorsement comes as Bad Bunny prepares to headline the Super Bowl halftime show, adding extra mainstream attention to the idea of a potential AEW crossover, but there are no public indications of formal negotiations or a WWE/AEW status change for him.
