Sheamus’ WWE debut could have looked very different.
The Celtic Warrior made his official main roster debut in ECW in June 2009. Within six months of his arrival, the wrestling veteran had been moved to the Raw brand where he ended up defeating John Cena to win his first WWE Championship at the December 2009 TLC PPV.
While speaking to Southys Wrestling Media for a new interview, Brian Kendrick talked about things such as almost facing Eddie Guerrero in a singles match, the favorite matches of his career, and more.

Sheamus With Brian Kendrick?
The former WWE star also talked about being repackaged as a heel in mid-2008 and being paired with Ezekiel Jackson. Brian Kendrick revealed that Sheamus had also been considered for the position of his bodyguard before Jackson made his debut in the role in July 2008:
I was in a land of giants and I was a shrimp. I’m the one who picked them. It was decided a heater would be best, and I went down to Tampa, and it was either him or Sheamus, and obviously, Sheamus went on to do wonderful things, but I liked the contrast in looks.
Me, a small white guy, him, a big black man. Me, this shrimp hiding behind his muscles. He looks slick. and intimidating, and I’m real cocky, what I have nothing to be cocky about. So I think like just visually in every which way, it was a nice combination.
Ezekiel Jackson would incidentally be moved to ECW in April 2009, only a couple of months before Sheamus’ debut. He went on to have a run with the ECW title and later the IC title but was ultimately released from WWE in April 2014 after multiple injuries.
