Titus O’Neil has been moved to the alumni section on WWE’s website, seemingly ending his 17-year tenure with the company.
The longtime WWE star has not wrestled a match since the ThunderDome era back in 2020, but he had continued working with the promotion as a Global Ambassador and made sporadic appearances on WWE TV in various roles.
The wrestling veteran had been part of the company since 2009 when he signed a development deal after ending his football career. He is best known for teaming with Darren Young as The Prime Time Players. Titus O’Neil also partnered with names such as Heath Slater and Apollo Crews during various stages of his career.
A former tag team and 24/7 Champion, O’Neil faced many ups and downs during his tenure. From getting suspended for enthusiastically hugging Vince McMahon during Daniel Bryan’s retirement celebration to tripping during his entrance at the Greatest Royal Rumble, O’Neil has given fans many moments to remember from his time in the company.
O’Neil has done considerable charity work outside of WWE, with the company recognizing his work with the Warrior Award as part of the 2020 Hall of Fame class.
There is no word on what the former champion is planning for his future. Despite not being officially retired from wrestling, it seems unlikely that the 49-year-old will return to the ring after his WWE exit.
