AEW commentator Tony Schiavone believes Artificial Intelligence will eventually replace wrestling announcers. The AEW commentator made the comments on his ‘What Happened When?’ podcast.
Schiavone envisions AI-generated commentary becoming a reality in wrestling. However, he stated he would rather his commentary end when he no longer dons the headset.
In a recent edition of his podcast, Schiavone said:
When I die, which, knowing me, could be any day…I want my memory to be gone.
Schiavone suggested that Artificial Intelligence will replace announcers soon. He said on his podcast:
Well, pretty soon there’s going to be an AI wrestling announcer, believe you me. There’ll be somebody in a video truck, just pushing buttons. ‘He picked him up.’
AI Controversy in Wrestling
AI has been used in pro wrestling to criticism. AAA used AI in a video package that portrayed Dominik Mysterio with the AEW World Championship instead of the AAA Mega Championship.
The mistake sparked criticism from fans online, and AAA eventually deleted the video. WWE has also been accused of using AI in documenting the story of El Grande Americano.
