Former AEW TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher is believed to be okay after a health scare at the AEW Collision taping on Wednesday alarmed fans in attendance.
Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com reported that the issue was likely dehydration, not a new injury, sparing a star who had only recently returned from months on the shelf with a meniscus injury.
The former TNT Champion sparked concern during his match against ELP at Viejas Arena in San Diego, California, with several in attendance believing he may have been hurt. That does not appear to be the case.
Dehydration, Not Injury
An update surfaced shortly after the taping wrapped, easing fears of another lengthy absence for one of AEW’s key roster pieces.
Although multiple fans reported tonight that Kyle Fletcher appeared to have been injured doing his match on Collision, we’ve been told he appears to be fine,” Alvarez wrote. “And it was likely just dehydration.
The timing made the scare especially nerve-wracking. Fletcher recently returned to action after recovering from the meniscus injury that forced him to vacate the TNT Championship earlier this year.
Recent Return To Action
Fletcher made his in-ring comeback at AEW Double or Nothing after AEW had mapped out a tentative timeline for his return.
He also competed in the Steel Cage match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door this past weekend, making a fresh setback the last thing the promotion needed. For now, the early word is encouraging.
