Triple H Frantic Reaction To Jade Cargill’s WWE Injury

ByBishal RoyProfessional Wrestling Journalist

Former WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill recently said that Triple H ordered cameras pulled off her backstage after she was busted open during a Triple Threat Women’s Championship match on SmackDown, telling crew members, “Get it off her. Get the camera off her.”

The directive, paired with the WWE boss flagging that she would need to see a plastic surgeon, signaled just how severe the laceration above her eyebrow really was.

Speaking with O’Shea Jackson Jr. and TJ Jefferson on No Contest Wrestling, Cargill revisited the bloody September 2025 bout against Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax.

She said the steel steps were supposed to move after Jax flung her into them, and that she had no idea how serious the cut was while the match continued.

The striking part of her recollection is how oblivious she was in the moment, more concerned about her white wig than the blood pouring down her face.

I looked down and you could look at the video and a whole stream of blood just poured into my hand. And I was like ‘Oh, okay, that’s our blood.’ But all I was thinking was like ‘Dang’ because I have a white wig,” Cargill said.

She recalled referee Daphanie LaShaunn pointing out the bleeding, then the crowd reaction that tipped her off.

And then in unison, the entire arena was like just gasp. Cause after what I did to Nia, I was going to get on the announcers table and beat my chest like King Kong and talk a lot of smack. But then in unison the arena did that, I was like ‘Okay,’ and then all the women in the front row turned around in disgust.

Triple H’s Backstage Warning

The match kept going with a towel thrown over Cargill on the side. It was only once she got to the back that the scope of the damage hit her, through Triple H’s reaction.

And then we got to the back and uh Triple H said ‘Yeah, we gonna have to see a plastic surgery.’ And I was like ‘Whoa, for you to say that must be bad because he’s seen so much, right?'” Cargill said.

The injury was worse than it looked on camera. “It was hanging. My brow was crooked. The doctor had to go, it was three layers deep. I don’t know how many stitches I had to get,” she said, adding that the cut had to be re-cut because it was so crooked. She said she was later told that backstage, Triple H had insisted, “Get it off her. Get the camera off her.”

WWE later quietly edited the viral wig-and-blood moment from the SmackDown footage.

From Injury To Championship Reign

Stratton retained the WWE Women’s Championship in the Triple Threat that night.

Cargill bounced back to defeat Stratton for the title at Saturday Night’s Main Event in November, beginning a reign that lasted nearly 170 days until WrestleMania. She has since shared one regret about that title run and made clear she wants a rematch following her WrestleMania loss.
