Both Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre appear to be on track to return at SummerSlam in August, with an internal WWE document circulated earlier this month including both names in connection with the two-day Minneapolis event, according to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select.
No additional details about their possible roles were provided, but their inclusion in the document suggests both men are being considered for plans as SummerSlam approaches on August 1-2 at Target Center in Minneapolis.
Both have been absent since WrestleMania 42. Orton was last seen in a WrestleMania 42 Night One main-event loss to Cody Rhodes, a program dominated by Pat McAfee’s involvement. Orton has dealt with significant injury issues in recent years, missing over a year due to a back injury from 2022 into 2023.
McIntyre, a two-time WWE Champion and multiple-time world champion, was on top of the card of SmackDown earlier this year before winning and losing the WWE Title to Cody Rhodes. At Wrestlemania 42 Night 1 on 18 April, McIntyre lost to Fatu in an Unsanctioned Match.
