On Monday night, the entertainment world said goodbye to Dennis Haskins, a beloved actor best known for his role as Principal Richard Belding on ‘Saved By The Bell.”
Wrestling fans knew Haskins as one of their own as well, having attended multiple WWE events throughout the years. He also made appearances in Zack Ryder’s “Z! True Long Island Story” YouTube series.
Following the news of his death, WWE star Zack Ryder (now known as Matt Cardona) issued a heartfelt tribute to Haskins, whom he remembers as a staple of his childhood.
“RIP Dennis Haskins,” Cardona wrote on Instagram alongside photos of him and Haskins. “He was a huge part of my childhood as Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell. Years later we became friends. He will be missed!”
Fellow WWE star The Miz echoed similar sentiments, noting that Haskins radiated cheerful energy every time they crossed paths. Miz, like Cardona, also considered the late actor an important part of his younger days.
“Growing up, I watched Dennis Haskins on TV and never imagined that one day I’d get to call him my friend,” The Miz wrote on Instagram. “When I finally met him, he was even better in person. He had this infectious laugh, and no matter when I saw him, he brought so much warmth and positivity with him. Dennis had this way of making you feel so special when you were around him. It’s hard to believe I won’t hear that laugh again. I’ll miss the friend I got to know, and I’ll always be grateful that someone who was part of my childhood became part of my life. Rest in peace, Dennis.”
