WWE has ranked its 10 greatest Money in the Bank wins, and the man who won the first one isn’t on the list.
The company released the countdown on YouTube on Oct. 4, ahead of Money in the Bank on Oct. 10 in New Orleans. Liv Morgan’s 2022 win took the top spot.
Edge, now wrestling as Adam Copeland in AEW, was left off entirely. He won the inaugural Money in the Bank ladder match at WrestleMania 21 in 2005. He beat Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Christian, Kane and Shelton Benjamin to claim the first briefcase.
He also became the first to cash it in. Edge beat John Cena for the WWE Championship at New Year’s Revolution in January 2006.
He did it again in 2007. Edge took the contract from Mr. Kennedy in a match on Raw, then cashed in on The Undertaker on SmackDown to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
Copeland is not the only notable name missing. Dean Ambrose, now Jon Moxley in AEW, also missed the cut despite cashing in on Seth Rollins in 2016.
