WWE is pushing forward with plans for WrestleMania 43 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
PWInsider reports that representatives for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia visited WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, earlier this month. The meetings covered the event and the logistics around it.
As with every Saudi event, WWE is said to have a contingency plan ready if needed. The company will also work closely with the private security experts it contracts for the region as Mania planning continues.
In recent days, there has been talk in wrestling circles that WWE already has domestic locations lined up if WrestleMania has to move. WWE sources told PWInsider it is too soon for those plans to have been made.
Those same sources did acknowledge that contingencies have been discussed for Crown Jewel. That event is set for Saturday, November 7, at Riyadh Season Stadium. WWE could pivot if needed due to the ongoing issues in the Middle East and North Africa region.
The U.S. Department of State recently reissued its Level 3 travel advisory urging Americans to reconsider travel to Saudi Arabia. The country has been at Level 3 since early March, after hostilities between the United States and Iran began.
WrestleMania 43 will be the first WrestleMania held outside North America. WWE has not yet announced a date for the show.
