MJF brutally defeated Roderick Strong following their match at the AEW Full Gear 2024 event, setting up further the eventual match between Maxwell and Adam Cole.
After managing to get the win against the Messiah of the Backbreaker, Maxwell brought a chair to the ring and Pillmanized the arm and wrist of Strong, which MJF had been targeting all match.
Adam Cole and the Undisputed Kingdom would then appear to chase off the former AEW Champion, before Kyle O\'Reilly got into the ring and pushed Cole to the ground. O\'Reilly mentioned on Dynamite that Cole needs to stop letting his friends get involved in his problems because they kept getting hurt...and he was right on the money here.
