The U.S. state with the best AEW crowds, according to Daniel Garcia

This Saturday, AEW will be in San Antonio, Texas for Collision. They are coming off of shows in Dallas, Arlington, and Garland (the latter also hosted ROH Final Battle on December 15).

Texas has seen some big moments in AEW’s young history. San Antonio was the site for the first ever women’s steel cage match between Thunder Rosa (who’s adopted the city as her own) and Britt Baker. Rosa won to become the AEW Women’s Champion.

At Fyter Fest 2021, Lance Archer defeated Jon Moxley in a Texas Deathmatch to become the IWGP United States Champion. “Winter is Coming” 2022 saw MJF defeat Ricky Starks to retain the Dynamite Diamond Ring.

Texas loves wrestling

On February 3, 2024, AEW will make its debut in Edinburg, Texas. Collision will be live from the Bert Ogden Arena. Daniel Garcia spoke with Valley Central about wrestling in front of strong Latino fanbases.

“I feel like every time we’re in a place like in South Texas, somebody that has that strong Latino fan base, it’s so dope to wrestle in front of them. They’re always loud. They’re always rowdy. In my opinion, Texas is the best crowds that we perform in front of.”

Garcia will wrestle this Saturday against Brody King in the Continental Classic. He has been mathematically eliminated, but could still pick up his first tournament win.
