Chelsea Green Explains Why She Loves Being A Heel

0

Chelsea Green says she fears the day when she has to become a babyface.

The WWE star has become one of the most entertaining names on the current roster since her return in early 2023. Mixing her unique heel tactics with her incredible character work, Green has become one of the most over stars in the company.

The former TNA star was asked about playing the villain on TV during a new interview with Canucks Central. She explained that she’s always had fun playing the heel character because she loves talking shit:

“I mean, I always had fun stepping into a villain character, in a villain role, and playing that bad guy. There are also the other half that obviously like to be the hero. They like to be the good guy. They like to be cheered.” said Chelsea Green,

“But for me, I just….there’s something so authentic about talking shit honestly. Just being nasty, and saying the thoughts that you never actually let come to the surface. You can kind of play with that as a heel in wrestling. I have so much fun doing it. I’m going to fear for the day where I have to be the good guy.”

Chelsea also talked about being part of the ongoing Women’s US Title tournament to crown the inaugural champion. She said she is already thinking about what she can do with the title if she wins the competition.

Green is set to face Bayley in the semifinals of the tournament. The winner would then compete in the finals set to take place at Saturday Night’s Main event on December 14.

Goldberg Still Fuming Over Streak’s End 25 Years After Starrcade Loss

0

It’s been over two decades since Bill Goldberg’s WCW streak ended, though how he was handed his first loss is still a sore spot for the legend. After racking up 173 wins (though many have disputed the accuracy of this number) Goldberg’s first WCW loss came at Starrcade 1998 to Kevin Nash, thanks to the interference of a cattle-prod-wielding Scott Hall.

The manner in which Goldberg’s streak ended has often been derided by fans and is seen as one of the many issues that led to the company’s demise. Speaking to Inside the Ropes, Goldberg explained that while he pitched the electrocution, he originally envisioned something bigger to shock him.

“If you beat me, you have to put 50,000 volts through me. But for some reason, they didn’t to do that. Hence the goofy-looking cattle prod.”

Rather than be lit up “like a freaking Christmas tree” Goldberg sold the prod and slumped to the floor before Nash got the win. Over a quarter of a century later, the WWE Hall of Famer remains unhappy as to how he earned the 1 in 173-1.

“I wanted them to shoot the barbs in me and light me up… I’m still pi*sed off.”

Goldberg will be hoping to have a better send-off to his career when he competes in his retirement match next year. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Bill Goldberg as the WCW legend prepares to say goodbye to the squared circle.

Ricky Starks Set for HOG Wrestling Debut Amid AEW and GCW Withdrawal

0

Ricky Starks will make his debut for House of Glory Wrestling next January, amid his ongoing hiatus from AEW programming. Starks will compete at the Watch The Throne show on January 17, where he’ll challenge Mike Santana for the HOG World Championship. Santana has held the gold since December 1, 2023, when he ended the reign of the self-professed ‘Indy God’ Matt Cardona.

Starks’ impending arrival in AEW comes amid his hiatus from AEW as the former World Tag Team Champion hasn’t been used on TV since March. Starks has speculations about why he’s not being used but has yet to be told by AEW management why the company is not using him.

Not only is Starks not competing in AEW, but he was recently pulled from a GCW event, and all future events for the promotion. It has been reported that a comment by Effy, Starks’ planned opponent for the night, resulted in Tony Khan cutting Starks from all GCW plans. GCW owner Brett Lauderdale only learned that Starks had been pulled at the same time fans learned of the situation on social media. Instead of Starks, Effy will face Matt Cardona at the Highest In The Room 3 event on December 14.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Ricky Starks, as fans wait to see what’s next for him, and when, if ever, he next competes in an AEW ring.

Chelsea Green Already Has Ideas For Women’s US Championship

0

Chelsea Green says she already has ideas on what she can do with the Women’s US Championship if she wins the title.

The female star recently spoke to Canucks Central. She talked about things such as 2024 being her 10-year anniversary of entering the wrestling industry, her journey in the business, and more.

Speaking about the introduction of the new mid-card titles for female talent, Green mentioned that women’s competitors have really shattered the glass ceilings in the past decade. She claimed that being in the tournament for the Women’s US Title as a Canadian is incredible:

“To be able to even be in this tournament for the first-ever Women’s United States Championship is incredible. Then, to be able to say that I’m the winner, to be a Canadian winning the United States Championship, it would be an honor.”

It Would Be Amazing: Chelsea Green

Chelsea Green has become one of the most beloved stars since her return to WWE during the 2023 Royal Rumble. People such as Nick Aldis have praised her for her creativity and giving 100% to whatever role the company has put her in.

A lot of audience members are rooting for the former TNA star to become the Inaugural Women’s US Champion. Green herself is also optimistic about her chances and she’s already thinking about things she can do with the belt:

“There are so many things, of course, the creative side of my brain, the wheels get turning and I think of all the things I can do before I’ve even won the championship. It would be amazing to be the inaugural champion and be able to bring it back to Vancouver,”

The former NXT star won a first-round triple threat match to advance to the semifinals of the ongoing Women’s US Title tournament. She will be facing Bayley in the semis with the finals taking place at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14.

Roman Reigns Vows To “Fix it All” At WWE Survivor Series: WarGames

0

Roman Reigns has plans to fix everything ahead of tonight’s WWE Survivor Series: WarGames Premium Live Event. On this week’s WWE SmackDown, Reigns and CM Punk shared a tense face-to-face that made clear neither man likes the other. Punk shared that he is helping the Bloodline as it means Paul Heyman owes him a favor.

Reigns asked Heyman what this favor is, though the Wise Man said it’s important first to get Survivor Series: WarGames out of the way. On Instagram, Reigns shared his own plans for the future, saying that he’ll “fix” all the issues very soon.

Reigns and Punk will be joined by The Usos and Sami Zayn inside WarGames to face The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa) and ‘Big’ Bronson Reed. Reigns has been at odds with Sikoa and his faction since SummerSlam, where the OTC returned and cost Solo his WWE Championship match with Cody Rhodes.

The match will be Reigns’ second time competing inside WarGames, though it remains to be seen how much trust he can put in CM Punk. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, including breaking news and live results from tonight’s Premium Live Event.

Paul Heyman Mediates High-Stakes Deal Between Reigns and Punk on SmackDown

0

The latest episode of SmackDown featured a pivotal sit-down segment involving Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Paul Heyman, setting the stage for a potential game-changing alliance ahead of Survivor Series 2024: WarGames. Tensions ran high as Reigns, visibly impatient, threatened to leave the meeting before Punk’s delayed arrival.

Paul Heyman, acting as a mediator, found himself in a precarious position between the two wrestling icons. The conversation took an intriguing turn when it was revealed that Punk owed Heyman a significant favor from their shared history, adding a layer of intrigue to an already volatile situation.

Despite their evident suspicion of one another, Reigns and Punk reached an agreement: a temporary alliance to take on Solo Sikoa and the New Bloodline at WarGames. Described as a “one-time, one-favor” deal, the partnership seemed shaky from the outset. Heyman, ever the strategist, issued a warning to Punk—if the New Bloodline emerged victorious, Punk could find himself their next target.

While the segment aimed to recreate the electrifying intensity of past confrontations, it emphasized the fragile dynamic between Reigns and Punk. The uncertainty surrounding Heyman’s true allegiances only deepened the drama, leaving fans to wonder how this alliance will play out at Survivor Series: WarGames.

Watch: Matt Riddle Makes Surprise TNA Turning Point Debut

0

Matt Riddle has arrived in TNA.

The Anthem-owned promotion presented its latest Turning point PPV from the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina this Friday, November 29.

One of the announced matches for the night was a six-man tag, featuring the team of Zachary Wentz, KUSHIDA and Trey Miguel taking on The Hardy Bros and Ace Austin.

Earlier in the day before the show, however, the company announced that Miguel would be missing the event due to a travel complication.

Matt Riddle would go on to make his surprise debut as a replacement for the young star, coming face-to-face with the legendary tag team in the process:

The team of Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, and Ace Austin ended up picking up the victory in the end, after Jeff took down KUSHIDA with a Swanton Bomb.

The former US Champion has a history with Zachary Wentz. The two have shared the ring on multiple occasions in the past and Riddle also briefly mentored MSK in NXT

The Bro of Bros has been a featured star on MLW since the start of this year, after being released from WWE late last year. He is set to challenge Satoshi Kojima for the MLW world title at the Kings of Colosseum event on January 11th.

Wade Barrett Says ‘Exciting Heels’ Don’t Last Long

0

Wade Barrett recently shared his thoughts on the dynamic between heroic (babyface) and villainous (heel) characters in WWE.

Currently a commentator in WWE, Barrett enjoyed a successful career as a heel wrestler during his in-ring days. Under his ‘Bad News Barrett’ persona, he developed a unique connection with the WWE Universe, earning cheers despite being positioned as a villain.

In a recent interview with AceOdds, Barrett was asked about heel wrestlers who excite fans. The former Intercontinental Champion expressed that an “exciting heel” is a contradiction, as heels are intended to provoke negative reactions. Once they start receiving cheers, they cease to be heels. Here’s how he explained it:

“Exciting heel to me is an oxymoron. The problem with exciting heels is that people jump up on their feet and start cheering the second they walk out, at which point they’re no longer heels. They’re getting cheered. They’re the good guy now. They’re the babyface. We’ve seen that over the years with several people. We saw it with The Rock in the late nineties. I’m an old-school fan and remember sitting at home watching The Rock trying his best to come out and insult towns and audiences, do the most heinous things, and people would explode because they were so excited about seeing The Rock and being entertained by him.”

Barrett also pointed to WWE United States Champion LA Knight as an example of how heels can transition into babyfaces. He noted that Knight’s natural charisma and fan reactions led to his shift in alignment:

“I think more recently, if you look at an LA Knight, I think the original game plan was that LA Knight was going to be an antagonist. He was going to be mean to people, but again, he was so exciting and everyone got electrified and buzzed the second he was on the screen. Hey, you aren’t the heel anymore, pal. Those are two classic examples of the pitfalls of being an exciting heel, which they both turned into their benefit, of course. They sell a lot of T-shirts as a result. But yeah, exciting heels don’t last long. They become exciting babyfaces instead.”

It has been nearly a decade since Barrett last competed in the ring. Recently, the WWE Raw commentator revealed his interest in having one more match and even named Drew McIntyre as a potential opponent.

Paul Heyman Reveals Next Potential ‘Guys’ In WWE’s Deepest Ever Roster

0

Being a Paul Heyman Guy has long been synonymous with superstardom in professional wrestling, and the WWE Hall of Famer is keeping a watchful eye on WWE’s current roster. In a conversation with SHAK Wrestling, Heyman shared his thoughts on the next potential ‘Paul Heyman Guy’ from today’s crop of talent.

“GUNTHER, Damian Priest, Bron Breakker, Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley, and others are remarkable talents. This roster is the deepest and most talented in the history of the industry.”

Few wrestlers have embraced the Paul Heyman Guy label as openly as CM Punk, who popularized the term during his iconic June 2011 Pipebomb promo. While Punk’s affiliation with Heyman became a defining trait, it was also a challenge during his early WWE career.

“CM Punk battled against the perception that all he was was a ‘Paul Heyman Guy.’ He proved himself through his connection with the audience, his hard work, and overcoming being misrepresented as a performer who needed ‘smoke and mirrors.'”

According to Heyman, Punk has grown into a more compelling character over the years. The legendary manager, who worked with Punk from 2012 to 2013, believes the Chicago-born star now shares a deeper, more meaningful connection with the WWE Universe than ever before.

Outside of Punk and Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar is arguably the superstar most associated with Heyman. From Lesnar’s WWE debut in March 2002 to his explosive return a decade later, Heyman has been by the Beast Incarnate’s side for many of his most pivotal moments.

“Brock was unlike any human being you’ve ever seen. He was a once-in-a-lifetime commodity that needed to be marketed as the undisputed number one.”

While questions linger about Brock Lesnar’s return to WWE TV, Heyman has made his own comeback, now working alongside Roman Reigns and CM Punk once again. Stay tuned to SEScoops for updates on Paul Heyman, the current WWE roster, and the potential rise of new ‘Paul Heyman Guys’ in the future.

WWE’s Plans For Raw’s Length On Netflix Still Being Discussed

0

The state-of-the-art Intuit Dome in Los Angeles is set to host the historic debut of WWE Raw on Netflix on January 6, 2025. The premiere episode will feature a star-studded lineup, including John Cena, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Bianca Belair, and more.

Fans are buzzing with anticipation about how WWE will adapt Raw’s format for its new streaming platform. Netflix’s lack of fixed time slots offers the opportunity for a fresh take on the iconic program. This flexibility could lead to significant changes in pacing, structure, and overall presentation, providing a unique viewing experience for subscribers.

For months, Raw has operated with a two-hour runtime following USA Network’s decision not to fund a third hour under their previous broadcast deal. This transitional phase has positioned WWE to experiment with new formats as the show shifts to Netflix.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is still finalizing key details about Raw‘s runtime and its approach to advertising. The company must balance the flexibility of streaming with the constraints of international broadcast deals, which adhere to traditional time limits. WWE is exploring options for a consistent runtime and innovative ways to integrate advertisements into the streaming format.

In preparation for this groundbreaking debut, WWE will send Cody Rhodes, Liv Morgan, and other top talent to a promotional event at Netflix headquarters on December 3, 2024. This gathering is expected to build excitement and generate buzz leading up to the January 6 premiere on Netflix.

Michin Defends WWE Pre-Taping Shows During the Holidays

0

SmackDown Superstar Michin has responded to fan criticism of WWE’s decision to air taped events, which are often recorded the same day as live broadcasts. In recent weeks, WWE has taped multiple episodes of its weekly shows in advance, including tonight’s edition of SmackDown. Taped shows allow WWE Superstars time to spend with their families during holidays or adjust to logistical challenges, such as traveling to Saudi Arabia for premium live events.

One downside of taped events is the inevitable spoilers that circulate on social media. After a fan on X suggested an alternative approach for handling these shows, Michin explained why taped episodes are beneficial for WWE talent.

In her tweet, Michin mentioned her “baby girl,” referring to her beloved dog Jolene, who sadly passed away this week. The time off provided by the taped schedule has given Michin the space to cope with this significant loss.

Michin is featured in tonight’s pre-taped SmackDown, where she will face Piper Niven and Lash Legend in a first-round match of the Women’s U.S. Title Tournament. Lash Legend is stepping in for Jade Cargill, who is currently sidelined. The details of Cargill’s injury remain unclear, fueling speculation about her return timeline.

For Michin, the flexibility provided by taping this week’s episode was particularly meaningful. It not only allowed her to spend Thanksgiving with loved ones but also gave her the chance to grieve and say a heartfelt goodbye to Jolene. Stay tuned to SEScoops for updates on Michin’s journey both in and out of the ring.

Valhalla & War Raider Erik Welcome Second Child Ezekiel

0

WWE power couple Valhalla and War Raider Erik have welcomed their second child, a son named Ezekiel Joseph Rowe. Sharing the news on Instagram, Erik described their newborn as “perfect in every way,” expressing the family’s joy.

The proud parents are already experienced in late-night feedings, as their first son, Raymond Cash Rowe, was born in February 2021. Earlier this year, the couple announced they were expecting their second child, which fans celebrated alongside them.

Valhalla, known in the ring as Sarah Logan, has not competed since February 2023, when she participated in a battle royal on Raw. Meanwhile, Erik recently returned to action after over a year recovering from a neck injury. He and Ivar, competing as the War Raiders, have quickly climbed the ranks in Raw‘s tag-team division. Just this week, they unsuccessfully challenged The Judgment Day for the World Tag Team Championships.

From everyone here at SEScoops, congratulations to Valhalla, Erik, and their family on the birth of Ezekiel Joseph Rowe!

Paul Heyman: The Bloodline Propelled Roman Reigns Beyond WrestleMania Status

0

Roman Reigns is far more than just a WrestleMania headliner, says Paul Heyman, crediting the Bloodline saga as the catalyst for Reigns’ meteoric rise. Since aligning with Heyman in 2020, Reigns has transformed from an often-criticized face into WWE’s most dominant figure, compelling even his harshest detractors to “acknowledge him.”

In an interview with SHAK Wrestling, Heyman reflected on Reigns’ evolution. The 2024 WWE Hall of Famer highlighted how Reigns’ career, while already significant before The Bloodline storyline, has reached unprecedented heights over the last four years.

“Before the Bloodline, Roman was a WrestleMania main eventer. Now, he’s the guy, the top star in the industry, and the centerpiece of WWE’s resurgence into its Platinum era.”

Reigns’ rise is not the only success of the Bloodline saga. Heyman also discussed how the storyline has elevated others, most notably Sami Zayn. He explained how Zayn’s career trajectory changed dramatically once he became part of the narrative.

“Six weeks after being the foil for Johnny Knoxville at WrestleMania, Sami Zayn was in the locker room with the Bloodline, and less than a year later, people debated whether he or Cody Rhodes should main event WrestleMania against Roman Reigns.”

This Saturday, Reigns and Zayn will team up with The Usos and CM Punk to face Solo Sikoa’s faction in WarGames at Survivor Series. For Zayn and The Usos, this marks another milestone in their main event careers—an achievement that seemed unimaginable before their integration into WWE’s most compelling and dominant faction. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest updates on the Bloodline and Survivor Series: WarGames, including breaking news and live results.

WWE’s ‘Quarterback’ Cody Rhodes Ushers in the ‘Record Era’

0

WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes has given a fitting title to WWE’s current era of dominance. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Rhodes compared this period to iconic eras like the Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression Era, suggesting it be called the “Record Era.” He explained, “We’re breaking records left and right. It just feels like the right name for this golden period.”

Rhodes also credited WWE’s leadership team—Triple H, Nick Khan, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson—for paving the way for his success. He described their guidance as instrumental, saying, “They’ve made it so easy for me. I’ve been dubbed The Quarterback—they call the plays, I run them, and hopefully, we all look good.”

Fresh off his monumental WrestleMania 40 victory, Rhodes shared an emotional moment from the night, particularly his celebration with his mother. Reflecting on his long journey to the championship, he said, “At eight years old, I just wanted it. It took me quite some time… This was the ultimate highlight for me. She doesn’t have boots and tights, but she’s a wrestler herself in spirit.”

Looking ahead, Rhodes is set to defend his title against Kevin Owens on NBC’s Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14th. While teasing surprises for the show, Rhodes couldn’t resist addressing Owens’ frequent criticisms of his sharp wardrobe choices. “No one has been more frustrated with me wearing suits than Kevin Owens. Make your own assumptions as to what that means,” he joked, adding intrigue to an already stacked event.

WWE Opposed Christian Cage’s Trademark Attempt (Report)

0

Christian Cage has reinvented himself while competing in AEW after joining the promotion a few years ago. However, he recently tried to bring back a nickname that he got over and used in WWE for years.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Cage tried to trademark the term ‘Captain Charisma’ and was opposed by WWE.

It’s unclear whether Cage will appeal the filing as of this writing. Some fans could argue that he doesn’t need the name, considering his placement in AEW since joining the rival promotion in 2021 after returning to in-ring action after years of being in retirement.

Cage was hyped as Tony Khan’s Hall of Fame-worthy talent signing at the time. Since then, he has been used in a top position, challenging for the World Heavyweight Title and holding the TNT Title multiple times. He currently holds the right to a World Title shot of his choosing, something he attempted to cash in on at Full Gear last Saturday on AEW World Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley only to be stopped.

After opting to sign with AEW over WWE, he filed to regain the trademark rights to the Christian Cage name. Cage was last in action on the November 13th episode of Dynamite when he teamed with Hangman Page to beat Bang Bang Gang (Jay White & Juice Robinson) in a tag team match.

Adam Copeland Teases AEW Return After Injury Recovery

0

Adam Copeland is eager to make his return to the ring. During a recent interview with Toronto Leafs Nation, the WWE Hall of Famer opened up about his recovery process following his injury at AEW’s Double Or Nothing and provided an update on his comeback timeline.

Reflecting on the incident, Copeland humorously acknowledged the risks of his high-flying style at his age. “My brain forgets I’m 51, but my body quickly reminded me, yeah, you just jumped from 21 feet, assh*le,” he said, referencing the Steel Cage match spot against Malakai Black that caused the injury. “That’s technically three stories. You’re 51, quit it.”

Despite the setback, Copeland revealed that his recovery has gone well and hinted at a return in the near future. “But I feel good,” he assured fans. “I’m ready to get back at it and to get busy again.”

While no official date has been announced, it’s clear the multi-time World Champion is eager to rejoin AEW’s dynamic roster, working with today’s rising stars and enjoying the final years of his active career on his own terms.

First Look At Adam Copeland In Percy Jackson Season 2 Amid AEW Injury

Adam Copeland’s AEW Run

Adam Copeland’s AEW journey began with his debut at WrestleDream in October 2023, marking his first promotion change since 1997 and the start of a new chapter under his real name rather than his WWE moniker “Edge.”

His most significant achievement has been capturing the TNT Championship twice, with his first title victory coming through an emotional “I Quit” match against Christian Cage in Toronto. Throughout his reign, he defended the title in memorable matches against opponents like Malakai Black in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage match and faced off against wrestling legend Minoru Suzuki on Dynamite.

Beyond his in-ring accomplishments, Copeland has received widespread acclaim for delivering some of his career-best performances in AEW, while also embracing a mentorship role with younger talent. His rivalry with Christian Cage became a highlight of his AEW tenure, drawing strong reviews from longtime fans and pundits.

Paul Heyman Believes Bloodline Story Ranks Above nWo, McMahon vs. Austin

0

Paul Heyman believes The Bloodline saga is the best story ever told in wrestling history.

The wrestling veteran recently spoke to Shakiel Mahjouri for a new interview. He talked about things such as companies having too many championships, his return to TV, CM Punk’s rise in WWE, and more.

Heyman who is known for his knowledge of wrestling history was also asked where he ranks the Bloodline saga among all the other great stories told in the business. The former ECW owner explained that he ranks it at the top because of how long it has been drawing money for WWE:

“Because of the longevity that this storyline has had I have to rank it number 1. I mean the money-drawing years of the Horsemen weren’t this long. The money-drawing years of the nWo wasn’t this long. The money-drawing years of Austin vs. McMahon wasn’t this long. Hogan vs. Savage, Hogan vs. Piper which put WrestleMania 1 on the map.

So just in terms of overall storytelling and the constant ebb and flow of affecting other people’s environment in the roster. How they tell their stories. I would suggest it’s the most significant, it’s the biggest money drawing, it has the most longevity, has held the most interest and overall it has done so by being the most intriguing and compelling.”

All False Humility Aide: Paul Heyman

Explaining what makes the tale so great, Heyman made similar comments to Triple H. He explained that in their story, a character’s evolution is not only inspired by the current circumstances but their past as well:

“Because at every turn you see the characters not just turn towards what the story calls for but the long-term effects of the development of these characters and the evolution of these characters is never lost on us. So if something happens that changes Roman Reigns in 2022, we don’t disavow knowledge of it in 2024. It plays into what’s happening in 2024. So because of that and because we keep it consistent, I would have to rank it number 1. All false humility aside.”

Eddie Kingston Working ‘Furiously’ Toward In Ring Return

0

Eddie Kingston is working hard on his recovery from the multitude of injuries he suffered earlier in the year but the latest reports suggest that he’ll not be back in the ring anytime soon.

The Mad King last competed during the NJPW Strong Resurgence event in May this year. Kingston dropped the NJPW Strong Openweight Title to Gabe Kidd at the show.

The AEW star suffered a tibial fracture, a torn ACL, and a torn meniscus in this match, putting him on the shelf for a prolonged period.

PWinsider recently provided an update on Eddie Kingston’s status. They noted that the 42-year-old is ‘furiously pushing himself’ through physical therapy in hopes of getting back into the ring as soon as possible.

Despite his best efforts, however, the former ROH Champion is not expected back anytime soon. His doctors have warned him that he’ll likely not be cleared to compete until June 2025. When the site reached out to him for a comment, Eddie simply said ‘Health insurance is a scam.’

Eddie Kingston is one of the names who was helped by the inception of AEW. Having wrestled for many indie promotions since his debut in 2002, Kingston was contemplating retirement before being signed by AEW in 2020.

Cody Rhodes: People Insecure With Their Manhood Are Intimidated By Suits, Kevin Owens Is Most Frustrated

Cody Rhodes says Kevin Owens is intimidated by his suits game.

The Undisputed WWE Champion appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Falon to promote the revival of Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14. He discussed things such as the new era of WWE, the new management of the company, having his mother in his corner for WrestleMania 40, and more.

Discussing the upcoming NBC event, Rhodes credited the trio of Triple H, Nick Khan, and Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson for bringing back the classic show. The American Nightmare also teased some surprises for the night:

“I think not only are we bringing back an exceptional card, great matches, great show, but there might be a few surprises here and there. Some things.”

Issue With Their Manhood: Cody Rhodes

When asked about his Saturday Night’s Main Event opponent Kevin Owens, Cody Rhodes told a story. He discussed how he started wearing suits regularly in 2015. The current champion noted that he’s made references to people who are intimidated by his suits game because of their own insecurities:

“I’ll tell you a story. I started wearing suits all the time. It was around 2015. It just became this thing. I wanted to represent wrestling and sports entertainment in a different way. So always suits, always customs. I didn’t feel pretentious about it. I wasn’t holding it over anybody. I just wanted to feel that. How I looked, right?

Well, I have said in the past that there are men in the wrestling game intimidated by the whole suit thing. Typically what I’ll say is ‘I think they have an issue with their manhood.’ If you know…I don’t want to use any crass language here. It is late night. It’s Thanksgiving.

Yeah. I don’t want to say the word, you know….Penis. But no one has been more frustrated and upset with the fact that I wear suits than Kevin Owens. So make your own assumptions there as to what that means. That is my opponent for Saturday Night’s Main Event.”

KO seemingly responded to this jab from his former friend on Twitter. He posted a photo of himself wearing a John Cena T-shirt, someone who Rhodes considers one of his idols:

Dwayne Johnson Makes Movie History With Red One/Moana 2 Success

0

WWE’s Final Boss Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson continues to be a force on the big screen by reaching an incredible movie milestone this week. As confirmed by Deadline, Johnson saw not one, but two movies reach #1 in their theatrical openings in November 2024 with Red One and Moana 2. Red One, an Amazon MGM Studios production, opened with a $32.1 million gross, while Moana 2 has the potential to hit $200 million over five days.

Having two films reach #1 in the same month is certainly a massive accolade for the Brahma Bull, whose success doesn’t stop there. Moana 2, a sequel to the 2016 film, has delivered the best Thanksgiving opening of all time, Deadline adds.

No other star has pulled off two #1 films in the same month, the report adds, though some did come close, including:

  • Chris Pratt (Super Mario Bros. Movie/Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3)
  • Chris Hemsworth (The Avengers/Snow White & The Huntsman)
  • Tom Hanks (Toy Story 2/The Green Mile)

These A-List talents came close, but only Johnson has been able to deliver two #1 films in the same calendar month. The Brahma Bull is also working on a live-action adaptation of the first Moana film, with fans recently catching their first glimpse of the WWE icon as Maui.

Amid Johnson’s Hollywood dominance, wrestling fans continue to await his return to WWE following his return in the closing moments of Bad Blood. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on The Rock who continues to be a leading man in Hollywood and WWE.

Cody Rhodes On Sharing WrestleMania 40 Victory With His Mother

0

Cody Rhodes says having his mom in his corner for his WrestleMania 40 victory was the ultimate highlight for him.

The Undisputed WWE Champion appeared on the most recent episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. He was there to promote his upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event match against Kevin Owens. Rhodes discussed things such as the new WWE management, being the quarterback of the company, and more.

Fallon brought up a picture of Cody celebrating his WrestleMania victory with his mother and asked him about the significance of the moment. The American Nightmare recounted the story of his dad Dusty Rhodes briefly holding the belt in 1978 and said that he was blessed to share the win with his mother:

“Oh, my gosh, you got me. This title, long ago, 1978, just down the road, Madison Square Garden. My dad came up here and he wrestled “Superstar” Billy Graham. He won the match, but because of the nature of pro wrestling, sports entertainment, it was a count-out. He didn’t get to leave with this.

So at eight years old, you know, not totally understanding the suspension of disbelief in terms of what we do, what is, what isn’t, I just wanted it. It took me quite some time.

By the time I got it…I mean, here she is. She’s this lovely, but I would say mean little Cuban lady. Who’s very, who’s rather….couldn’t ask for a better mom, but not easily impressed. So this was the ultimate highlight for me. She raised a wrestler. She was married to a wrestler. She doesn’t have boots and tights, but she’s a wrestler herself. I was blessed that I could share that with her.”

This Is It: Cody Rhodes

When asked about remembering all these details as an 8-year-old, Cody Rhodes revealed that Dusty had the picture of him holding the title framed in his house. This is how the former AEW star knew that the championship meant a lot to his father:

“They had a picture frame. That’s how I knew it meant something to my dad, because he had done so many things. They had a picture frame with him holding it.

I remember asking him, like, ‘I didn’t know you were a WWE champion?’ And he explained to me that he didn’t leave with the title that night. That was the big, eight years old, ‘This is it. That’s my goal. That’s it.’ And it just took me a while, you know? Slow learner.”

First Look At Adam Copeland In Percy Jackson Season 2 Amid AEW Injury

0

Fans have gotten their first glimpse of Adam Copeland in the next season of Percy Jackson, amid the AEW wrestler’s ongoing injury. On Instagram, footage was shared of Copeland as Ares, the God of War, explaining his messed-up family history.

Percy Jackson & The Olympians is based off the hit book series by Rick Riordan, who serves as one of the show’s executive producers. Copeland was part of the show’s first season and fans can expect to see the WWE Hall of Famer and former World Champion back. The second season of the show is set for a 2025 release on Disney+ though an exact date isn’t known at this time.

Adam Copeland’s Injury

Copeland’s work on the show comes amid recovery from a fractured tibia that he suffered at Double or Nothing in May of this year. While Copeland retained the TNT Championship in the barbed wire steel cage match, the injury would result in him having to vacate the gold.

This week, it was reported that Copeland has been medically cleared for physicality, though fans shouldn’t expect him on Dynamite or Collision just yet. It’s reported that Copeland isn’t expected to appear for AEW until filming is completed for the season season of Percy Jackson & The Olympians. Hollywood sources suggest production will wrap in January.
