Valhalla & War Raider Erik Welcome Second Child Ezekiel

0

WWE power couple Valhalla and War Raider Erik have welcomed their second child, a son named Ezekiel Joseph Rowe. Sharing the news on Instagram, Erik described their newborn as “perfect in every way,” expressing the family’s joy.

The proud parents are already experienced in late-night feedings, as their first son, Raymond Cash Rowe, was born in February 2021. Earlier this year, the couple announced they were expecting their second child, which fans celebrated alongside them.

Valhalla, known in the ring as Sarah Logan, has not competed since February 2023, when she participated in a battle royal on Raw. Meanwhile, Erik recently returned to action after over a year recovering from a neck injury. He and Ivar, competing as the War Raiders, have quickly climbed the ranks in Raw‘s tag-team division. Just this week, they unsuccessfully challenged The Judgment Day for the World Tag Team Championships.

From everyone here at SEScoops, congratulations to Valhalla, Erik, and their family on the birth of Ezekiel Joseph Rowe!

Paul Heyman: The Bloodline Propelled Roman Reigns Beyond WrestleMania Status

0

Roman Reigns is far more than just a WrestleMania headliner, says Paul Heyman, crediting the Bloodline saga as the catalyst for Reigns’ meteoric rise. Since aligning with Heyman in 2020, Reigns has transformed from an often-criticized face into WWE’s most dominant figure, compelling even his harshest detractors to “acknowledge him.”

In an interview with SHAK Wrestling, Heyman reflected on Reigns’ evolution. The 2024 WWE Hall of Famer highlighted how Reigns’ career, while already significant before The Bloodline storyline, has reached unprecedented heights over the last four years.

“Before the Bloodline, Roman was a WrestleMania main eventer. Now, he’s the guy, the top star in the industry, and the centerpiece of WWE’s resurgence into its Platinum era.”

Reigns’ rise is not the only success of the Bloodline saga. Heyman also discussed how the storyline has elevated others, most notably Sami Zayn. He explained how Zayn’s career trajectory changed dramatically once he became part of the narrative.

“Six weeks after being the foil for Johnny Knoxville at WrestleMania, Sami Zayn was in the locker room with the Bloodline, and less than a year later, people debated whether he or Cody Rhodes should main event WrestleMania against Roman Reigns.”

This Saturday, Reigns and Zayn will team up with The Usos and CM Punk to face Solo Sikoa’s faction in WarGames at Survivor Series. For Zayn and The Usos, this marks another milestone in their main event careers—an achievement that seemed unimaginable before their integration into WWE’s most compelling and dominant faction. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest updates on the Bloodline and Survivor Series: WarGames, including breaking news and live results.

WWE’s ‘Quarterback’ Cody Rhodes Ushers in the ‘Record Era’

0

WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes has given a fitting title to WWE’s current era of dominance. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Rhodes compared this period to iconic eras like the Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression Era, suggesting it be called the “Record Era.” He explained, “We’re breaking records left and right. It just feels like the right name for this golden period.”

Rhodes also credited WWE’s leadership team—Triple H, Nick Khan, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson—for paving the way for his success. He described their guidance as instrumental, saying, “They’ve made it so easy for me. I’ve been dubbed The Quarterback—they call the plays, I run them, and hopefully, we all look good.”

Fresh off his monumental WrestleMania 40 victory, Rhodes shared an emotional moment from the night, particularly his celebration with his mother. Reflecting on his long journey to the championship, he said, “At eight years old, I just wanted it. It took me quite some time… This was the ultimate highlight for me. She doesn’t have boots and tights, but she’s a wrestler herself in spirit.”

Looking ahead, Rhodes is set to defend his title against Kevin Owens on NBC’s Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14th. While teasing surprises for the show, Rhodes couldn’t resist addressing Owens’ frequent criticisms of his sharp wardrobe choices. “No one has been more frustrated with me wearing suits than Kevin Owens. Make your own assumptions as to what that means,” he joked, adding intrigue to an already stacked event.

WWE Opposed Christian Cage’s Trademark Attempt (Report)

0

Christian Cage has reinvented himself while competing in AEW after joining the promotion a few years ago. However, he recently tried to bring back a nickname that he got over and used in WWE for years.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Cage tried to trademark the term ‘Captain Charisma’ and was opposed by WWE.

It’s unclear whether Cage will appeal the filing as of this writing. Some fans could argue that he doesn’t need the name, considering his placement in AEW since joining the rival promotion in 2021 after returning to in-ring action after years of being in retirement.

Cage was hyped as Tony Khan’s Hall of Fame-worthy talent signing at the time. Since then, he has been used in a top position, challenging for the World Heavyweight Title and holding the TNT Title multiple times. He currently holds the right to a World Title shot of his choosing, something he attempted to cash in on at Full Gear last Saturday on AEW World Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley only to be stopped.

After opting to sign with AEW over WWE, he filed to regain the trademark rights to the Christian Cage name. Cage was last in action on the November 13th episode of Dynamite when he teamed with Hangman Page to beat Bang Bang Gang (Jay White & Juice Robinson) in a tag team match.

Adam Copeland Teases AEW Return After Injury Recovery

0

Adam Copeland is eager to make his return to the ring. During a recent interview with Toronto Leafs Nation, the WWE Hall of Famer opened up about his recovery process following his injury at AEW’s Double Or Nothing and provided an update on his comeback timeline.

Reflecting on the incident, Copeland humorously acknowledged the risks of his high-flying style at his age. “My brain forgets I’m 51, but my body quickly reminded me, yeah, you just jumped from 21 feet, assh*le,” he said, referencing the Steel Cage match spot against Malakai Black that caused the injury. “That’s technically three stories. You’re 51, quit it.”

Despite the setback, Copeland revealed that his recovery has gone well and hinted at a return in the near future. “But I feel good,” he assured fans. “I’m ready to get back at it and to get busy again.”

While no official date has been announced, it’s clear the multi-time World Champion is eager to rejoin AEW’s dynamic roster, working with today’s rising stars and enjoying the final years of his active career on his own terms.

First Look At Adam Copeland In Percy Jackson Season 2 Amid AEW Injury

Adam Copeland’s AEW Run

Adam Copeland’s AEW journey began with his debut at WrestleDream in October 2023, marking his first promotion change since 1997 and the start of a new chapter under his real name rather than his WWE moniker “Edge.”

His most significant achievement has been capturing the TNT Championship twice, with his first title victory coming through an emotional “I Quit” match against Christian Cage in Toronto. Throughout his reign, he defended the title in memorable matches against opponents like Malakai Black in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage match and faced off against wrestling legend Minoru Suzuki on Dynamite.

Beyond his in-ring accomplishments, Copeland has received widespread acclaim for delivering some of his career-best performances in AEW, while also embracing a mentorship role with younger talent. His rivalry with Christian Cage became a highlight of his AEW tenure, drawing strong reviews from longtime fans and pundits.

Paul Heyman Believes Bloodline Story Ranks Above nWo, McMahon vs. Austin

0

Paul Heyman believes The Bloodline saga is the best story ever told in wrestling history.

The wrestling veteran recently spoke to Shakiel Mahjouri for a new interview. He talked about things such as companies having too many championships, his return to TV, CM Punk’s rise in WWE, and more.

Heyman who is known for his knowledge of wrestling history was also asked where he ranks the Bloodline saga among all the other great stories told in the business. The former ECW owner explained that he ranks it at the top because of how long it has been drawing money for WWE:

“Because of the longevity that this storyline has had I have to rank it number 1. I mean the money-drawing years of the Horsemen weren’t this long. The money-drawing years of the nWo wasn’t this long. The money-drawing years of Austin vs. McMahon wasn’t this long. Hogan vs. Savage, Hogan vs. Piper which put WrestleMania 1 on the map.

So just in terms of overall storytelling and the constant ebb and flow of affecting other people’s environment in the roster. How they tell their stories. I would suggest it’s the most significant, it’s the biggest money drawing, it has the most longevity, has held the most interest and overall it has done so by being the most intriguing and compelling.”

All False Humility Aide: Paul Heyman

Explaining what makes the tale so great, Heyman made similar comments to Triple H. He explained that in their story, a character’s evolution is not only inspired by the current circumstances but their past as well:

“Because at every turn you see the characters not just turn towards what the story calls for but the long-term effects of the development of these characters and the evolution of these characters is never lost on us. So if something happens that changes Roman Reigns in 2022, we don’t disavow knowledge of it in 2024. It plays into what’s happening in 2024. So because of that and because we keep it consistent, I would have to rank it number 1. All false humility aside.”

Eddie Kingston Working ‘Furiously’ Toward In Ring Return

0

Eddie Kingston is working hard on his recovery from the multitude of injuries he suffered earlier in the year but the latest reports suggest that he’ll not be back in the ring anytime soon.

The Mad King last competed during the NJPW Strong Resurgence event in May this year. Kingston dropped the NJPW Strong Openweight Title to Gabe Kidd at the show.

The AEW star suffered a tibial fracture, a torn ACL, and a torn meniscus in this match, putting him on the shelf for a prolonged period.

PWinsider recently provided an update on Eddie Kingston’s status. They noted that the 42-year-old is ‘furiously pushing himself’ through physical therapy in hopes of getting back into the ring as soon as possible.

Despite his best efforts, however, the former ROH Champion is not expected back anytime soon. His doctors have warned him that he’ll likely not be cleared to compete until June 2025. When the site reached out to him for a comment, Eddie simply said ‘Health insurance is a scam.’

Eddie Kingston is one of the names who was helped by the inception of AEW. Having wrestled for many indie promotions since his debut in 2002, Kingston was contemplating retirement before being signed by AEW in 2020.

His mic skills and fighting spirit have helped make the wrestling star one of the most loved names of the AEW roster since then and there are many who are waiting for his return to the ring.

Cody Rhodes: People Insecure With Their Manhood Are Intimidated By Suits, Kevin Owens Is Most Frustrated

0

Cody Rhodes says Kevin Owens is intimidated by his suits game.

The Undisputed WWE Champion appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Falon to promote the revival of Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14. He discussed things such as the new era of WWE, the new management of the company, having his mother in his corner for WrestleMania 40, and more.

Discussing the upcoming NBC event, Rhodes credited the trio of Triple H, Nick Khan, and Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson for bringing back the classic show. The American Nightmare also teased some surprises for the night:

“I think not only are we bringing back an exceptional card, great matches, great show, but there might be a few surprises here and there. Some things.”

Issue With Their Manhood: Cody Rhodes

When asked about his Saturday Night’s Main Event opponent Kevin Owens, Cody Rhodes told a story. He discussed how he started wearing suits regularly in 2015. The current champion noted that he’s made references to people who are intimidated by his suits game because of their own insecurities:

“I’ll tell you a story. I started wearing suits all the time. It was around 2015. It just became this thing. I wanted to represent wrestling and sports entertainment in a different way. So always suits, always customs. I didn’t feel pretentious about it. I wasn’t holding it over anybody. I just wanted to feel that. How I looked, right?

Well, I have said in the past that there are men in the wrestling game intimidated by the whole suit thing. Typically what I’ll say is ‘I think they have an issue with their manhood.’ If you know…I don’t want to use any crass language here. It is late night. It’s Thanksgiving.

Yeah. I don’t want to say the word, you know….Penis. But no one has been more frustrated and upset with the fact that I wear suits than Kevin Owens. So make your own assumptions there as to what that means. That is my opponent for Saturday Night’s Main Event.”

KO seemingly responded to this jab from his former friend on Twitter. He posted a photo of himself wearing a John Cena T-shirt, someone who Rhodes considers one of his idols:

Dwayne Johnson Makes Movie History With Red One/Moana 2 Success

0

WWE’s Final Boss Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson continues to be a force on the big screen by reaching an incredible movie milestone this week. As confirmed by Deadline, Johnson saw not one, but two movies reach #1 in their theatrical openings in November 2024 with Red One and Moana 2. Red One, an Amazon MGM Studios production, opened with a $32.1 million gross, while Moana 2 has the potential to hit $200 million over five days.

Having two films reach #1 in the same month is certainly a massive accolade for the Brahma Bull, whose success doesn’t stop there. Moana 2, a sequel to the 2016 film, has delivered the best Thanksgiving opening of all time, Deadline adds.

No other star has pulled off two #1 films in the same month, the report adds, though some did come close, including:

  • Chris Pratt (Super Mario Bros. Movie/Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3)
  • Chris Hemsworth (The Avengers/Snow White & The Huntsman)
  • Tom Hanks (Toy Story 2/The Green Mile)

These A-List talents came close, but only Johnson has been able to deliver two #1 films in the same calendar month. The Brahma Bull is also working on a live-action adaptation of the first Moana film, with fans recently catching their first glimpse of the WWE icon as Maui.

Amid Johnson’s Hollywood dominance, wrestling fans continue to await his return to WWE following his return in the closing moments of Bad Blood. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on The Rock who continues to be a leading man in Hollywood and WWE.

Cody Rhodes On Sharing WrestleMania 40 Victory With His Mother

0

Cody Rhodes says having his mom in his corner for his WrestleMania 40 victory was the ultimate highlight for him.

The Undisputed WWE Champion appeared on the most recent episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. He was there to promote his upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event match against Kevin Owens. Rhodes discussed things such as the new WWE management, being the quarterback of the company, and more.

Fallon brought up a picture of Cody celebrating his WrestleMania victory with his mother and asked him about the significance of the moment. The American Nightmare recounted the story of his dad Dusty Rhodes briefly holding the belt in 1978 and said that he was blessed to share the win with his mother:

“Oh, my gosh, you got me. This title, long ago, 1978, just down the road, Madison Square Garden. My dad came up here and he wrestled “Superstar” Billy Graham. He won the match, but because of the nature of pro wrestling, sports entertainment, it was a count-out. He didn’t get to leave with this.

So at eight years old, you know, not totally understanding the suspension of disbelief in terms of what we do, what is, what isn’t, I just wanted it. It took me quite some time.

By the time I got it…I mean, here she is. She’s this lovely, but I would say mean little Cuban lady. Who’s very, who’s rather….couldn’t ask for a better mom, but not easily impressed. So this was the ultimate highlight for me. She raised a wrestler. She was married to a wrestler. She doesn’t have boots and tights, but she’s a wrestler herself. I was blessed that I could share that with her.”

This Is It: Cody Rhodes

When asked about remembering all these details as an 8-year-old, Cody Rhodes revealed that Dusty had the picture of him holding the title framed in his house. This is how the former AEW star knew that the championship meant a lot to his father:

“They had a picture frame. That’s how I knew it meant something to my dad, because he had done so many things. They had a picture frame with him holding it.

I remember asking him, like, ‘I didn’t know you were a WWE champion?’ And he explained to me that he didn’t leave with the title that night. That was the big, eight years old, ‘This is it. That’s my goal. That’s it.’ And it just took me a while, you know? Slow learner.”

First Look At Adam Copeland In Percy Jackson Season 2 Amid AEW Injury

0

Fans have gotten their first glimpse of Adam Copeland in the next season of Percy Jackson, amid the AEW wrestler’s ongoing injury. On Instagram, footage was shared of Copeland as Ares, the God of War, explaining his messed-up family history.

Percy Jackson & The Olympians is based off the hit book series by Rick Riordan, who serves as one of the show’s executive producers. Copeland was part of the show’s first season and fans can expect to see the WWE Hall of Famer and former World Champion back. The second season of the show is set for a 2025 release on Disney+ though an exact date isn’t known at this time.

Adam Copeland’s Injury

Copeland’s work on the show comes amid recovery from a fractured tibia that he suffered at Double or Nothing in May of this year. While Copeland retained the TNT Championship in the barbed wire steel cage match, the injury would result in him having to vacate the gold.

This week, it was reported that Copeland has been medically cleared for physicality, though fans shouldn’t expect him on Dynamite or Collision just yet. It’s reported that Copeland isn’t expected to appear for AEW until filming is completed for the season season of Percy Jackson & The Olympians. Hollywood sources suggest production will wrap in January.

Update On Alexa Bliss And Drew McIntyre’s WWE Return

0

WWE has started figuring out storylines to bring both Drew McIntyre and Alexa back to TV from their hiatus according to the latest reports.

McIntyre was last seen at the Bad Blood PPV in early October where he lost the Hell In A Cell match to CM Punk, culminating their nearly 10-month-long rivalry. The Scottish Warrior had taken time off from the company afterward for family reasons.

Now PWinsider is reporting that the officials have started discussing the creative to bring the former WWE Champion back. While no plans have been finalized yet, pitches have been made indicating that Drew is closer to a comeback.

Alexa Bliss on the other hand has not been seen on WWE programming since the 2023 Royal Rumble event. She failed to beat Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship at the show.

The former champion has since welcomed her first daughter Hendrix Rouge Cabrera into the world. She has also been dealing with a multitude of health issues, prolonging her absence.

This new report suggests that the company is planning to bring her back after the holiday season. While an exact date for her return has not been set just yet, the belief is that the former champion would make her comeback sometime during the WrestleMania season next year.

Bliss’ name has been teased in recent times. In a recent promo against Wyatt Sicks, Karrion Kross asked them where their sixth member was. This got people speculating about Alexa’s return and in a Twitter exchange, the former NXT Champion claimed he would welcome The Goddess in his Final Testament faction.

Update On Jade Cargill’s Status After SmackDown Attack

0

There have been a lot of rumors and speculations floating around about the status of Jade Cargill after the female star was brutally attacked by an unknown assailant during the November 22 SmackDown.

One-half of the current Women’s Tag Team Champions, Cargill was involved in a prominent storyline heading into the Survivor Series WarGames PPV. She was set to join Rhea Ripley’s team in the match beyond against Liv Morgan and her partners.

This sudden change made many believe that WWE was forced to remove Jade due to an injury and the attack was a storyline to write her off.

PWInsider is now reporting, however, that the former AEW star is not dealing with any kind of injury and the SmackDown segment was nothing but a storyline.

The injury report that WWE sent out regarding jade Cargill was just to put over the severity of the attack and set the stage for a future storyline involving the current champion.

The company has already turned the attack into a storyline with multiple suspects such as Nia Jax and Naomi all pointing fingers at each other.

WWE has since announced Bayley as the replacement for Jade Cargill in the WarGames match. The event takes place this Saturday from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.

The big question now is how long the company will keep Cargill away from the ring to sell the injuries and who will finally be revealed as her attacker.

Triple H, Tony Khan And More Share Their Thanksgiving Celebrations

0

Another Thanksgiving is in the books as people around the United States have shared what they’re grateful for, all while digesting copious amounts of food. For the stars of wrestling, there’s plenty to be thankful for, and some names in the industry took to social media to share how they celebrated.

On X, WWE CCO Pal ‘Triple H’ Levesque gave a rare look at his personal life by sharing a Thanksgiving workout with his daughters.

WWE NXT Superstar Nikkita Lyons celebrated Thanksgiving in a unique way by showing off her twerking skills.

Lyons may have twerked one too many times, as later in the day, she shared that she wasn’t thankful for the sickness she was dealing with. The Lioness said that someone had gotten her sick at an NXT live event last Friday in Lakeland, Florida.

Braun Strowman enjoyed Thanksgiving, which is more than can be said for the 8 deer he killed and later shared on his Instagram Stories.

NXT Superstar Lexis King was able to celebrate the day with his ‘Queen.’ The second-generation wrestler has been trying to become a better person as of late in the silver brand and avoid his usual heel tactics.

Chad Gable showed that there are no off days when it comes to training to be the best, and that includes Thanksgiving.

And AEW President Tony Khan celebrated Thanksgiving by sharing how thankful he is that there’s plenty more matches to go in the Continental Classic. The tournament has new rules this year, and its winner will be crowned at AEW Worlds End next month.

The LWO took their Thanksgiving celebration to Arizona by delivering over 50,000 meals as part of community outreach. We at SEScoops would like to wish everybody a Happy Thanksgiving as wrestling fans have plenty to be thankful for.

WWE’s LWO Serves 50,000 Meals In Thanksgiving Community Outreach

0

WWE and the LWO celebrated Thanksgiving in a unique way this year by ensuring that people in Arizona received a hot meal on the special day. Rey Mysterio, Zelina Vega, Joaquin Wilde, and WWE Speed Champion Dragon Lee attended the Food Donation Drive in Arizona and delivered 50,000 meals according to Mysterio. The line for food had been miles long since 6:30 in the morning at St Mary’s Food Bank, the Hall of Famer added.

It wasn’t just meals that the trio of WWE Superstars were handing out as the group presented the St. Mary’s crew with a replica Undisputed WWE Championship belt.

The event demonstrated WWE’s commitment to making a difference and was part of WWE’s community outreach program. The program sees WWE commit to various philanthropic endeavors, with WWE Warrior Award recipient Titus O’Neil playing a role in the program.

On WWE programming, the LWO has been feuding with Chad Gable’s American Made faction, with Mysterio and Lee facing Brutus and Julius Creed during the latest episode of WWE Monday Night Raw. Despite this setback, the pair, alongside Zelina Vega, were all smiles as they used this year’s Thanksgiving to make a massive difference to the people of Arizona.

Xavier Woods Was Warned To Stay Away From Kofi Kingston in WWE

0

The New Day’s decade of dominance in WWE may never have happened had Xavier Woods followed backstage advice to avoid Kofi Kingston. Today marks ten years since the New Day’s first match with WWE which saw them win a six-man-tag on SmackDown.

On WWE’s YouTube channel, Woods, Kofi, and Big E reflected on their time together and how The New Day got started. Despite becoming one of the most popular groups, Woods shared that he was warned to keep his distance from Kofi Kingston.

“My entire WWE career, I’d been told to stay away from Kofi. Not because he’s bad, but because we’re very similar.

“in wrestling, you’ve got to carve out your own spot and they say, ‘If Kofi’s doing this and we automatically see you and imagine that you’re kinda a secondary Kofi, that’s not going to be good for you.’ And so I always stayed away from him.”

Woods shared that he doesn’t see himself and Kofi as similar and that it was a choice by he and Big E to bring Kingston into the New Day. The decision clearly worked as the group has become a staple of WWE TV, with Kingston and Big E both holding the WWE Championship.

A ten-year celebration of The New Day will take place on Raw, though comes amid growing tensions between Kingston and Woods. The pair have been unable to get on the same page for months now, leaving fans to speculate that tensions will boil over in a matter of days.

Fans are hopeful that Big E, who remains out of action due to his neck injury, will be able to smooth things over during the coming celebration. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on The New Day and whether the group can get back on the same page, or if the damage to the friendship between Kofi and Woods proves to be irreparable.

Jake Roberts Reveals Why He Choose Snakes As His Gimmick Despite His Phobia

0

Jake Roberts has revealed why he picked snakes as part of his gimmick over a different animal.

The WWE Hall of Famer recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview. He discussed things such as DDP helping him with his alcohol addiction, his iconic promos, DDT not being used as finishers anymore and more.

Talking about his famous gimmick, Roberts discussed how he’s actually not a fan of snakes and joked that he should have adopted a different creature-based character:

“I don’t like snakes at all. I’m terrified of them. They scare the piss out of me, and you never get used to getting bit. I should have been like Billy the bug, just carry a cockroach around.

You know, if I shoved a cockroach in your ear, that would mess with your head, yeah, yeah, especially your ear. Little cockroach dug in there.”

Because People Are Afraid: Jake Roberts

The WWE legend was then asked why he still chose snakes as part of his character despite hating them. Jake Roberts explained that this phobia which he shares with a lot of fans is the thing that made him a successful heel:

“Because of that, because most people are afraid of snakes. Your parents tell you from the get go, keep away snakes. And that’s ingrained in you.

It’s sort of something that is taught to us from the very beginning, and kids dig it, because mom and dad can’t stand it. You know, it makes mama squirm. I love to see your mother squirm. I still love seeing that.”

Roberts also revealed that he’s received more than 15 snake bites over the course of his career. He discussed how people are told not to move quickly when a snake bites but it’s the natural reaction for anyone. He recalled one such incident where he got bitten by a large reticulated Python who ended up tearing a chunk off his arm.

Jake Roberts On Sobriety: I’d Have Died Years Ago If Not For DDP

0

Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts would not be living right now if not for the immense effort from him and others to combat his substance abuse issues. For years, Roberts battled an addiction to alcohol and other substances and would spend 14 weeks in a WWE-endorsed rehab clinic in 2007. Despite this, it wouldn’t be until Page moved in with ‘Diamond’ Dallas Page in 2012 that Roberts was able to turn his life around.

Speaking on the Insight podcast, Roberts was asked if he still struggles with his sobriety and shared that alcohol no longer is able to coax him.

“The smell of alcohol turns my stomach. I can walk through an airport blindfolded and tell you where the bars are at. Because of the smell. That’s my stomach now and I’m glad.”

Roberts’ time with DDP and battle with substance abuse was documented in the documentary The Resurrection of Jake the Snake. When asked how he was able to overcome his demons, Jake made clear it wasn’t a solitary venture.

“A lot of damn work, it took a lot of work. It took a lot of patience and some good friends.

Roberts is just one of several wrestlers helped by DDP, who also aided Scott Hall with his battles with substances. Had Page not stepped in, Roberts would not have been alive for the interview according to the WWE legend.

“Nope. No doubt in my mind. I’d have been dead several years ago. That’s where I was going.”

Roberts is not just surviving, but thriving at the age of 69 as the manager of La Facción Ingobernable. Roberts also serves as an advisor for the community outreach program AEW Together where he uses his experience to help others make the right choices.

Roman Reigns Reveals His Hollywood Plans

0

Roman Reigns plans to have a similar approach to his Hollywood career as his recent WWE run.

After spending a decade being a full-time wrestler, Reigns has successfully transitioned to a part-time schedule in the past couple of years. Though unlike other part-time workers, Roman continues being the center of the company’s top storyline despite having wrestled only 16 matches since 2023.

The Original Tribal Chief was asked if he has any plans for a Hollywood transition during an interview with SI Media podcast. Reigns explained that not doing some acting work would be a waste of the talents he has developed as part of his wrestling career:

“I’ve said this before there’s so many tools and skills that I’ve built and learned along my way in WWE that it would probably be a waste if I didn’t somewhat transition and use some of these skills.

I don’t know if I would want to go to the full extent of Dwayne [Johnson] or even John [Cena]. Dave [Bautista] is very busy as well, he seems to have a little more balance in the way he conducts his schedule maybe. But you can tell he wants that; he wants to be that guy too.”

I Want To Make Really Good Movies: Roman Reigns

Though Roman Reigns is not looking to make a full-time transition where he’ll be working on multiple projects at the same time. According to him, he wants to make really good movies without oversaturating the market:

“If I’m going to make movies, I want to make really good movies and I want to be a part of really good stories. I want to work with a really good crew. People ,you know, directors and production teams who know what they’re doing. People I can learn from.

I want to work with other experienced actors. I don’t have an ego…so one of my things is, I want to be able to work with people who know what they’re doing and bring something great to the table as well that I can you know take with me. Steal a couple pages from their playbook and we can all make some great money together. But I don’t feel the need to oversaturate that or do too much in that space.”

The former Undisputed Champion discussed how he would also want to have enough time to spend with his kids. Even when he makes the transition and can’t take bumps anymore, however, he’ll continue his association with WWE:

“I plan on taking care of myself so I’ll probably be able to come back and kick someone’s ass no matter what. At least play that role anyways. Look it, and then have somebody fall down for me. But yeah good projects I definitely would love to be a part of.”

WWE ID Prospects Detail Their Unique Wrestling Beginnings

0

The WWE ID program will give a spotlight to some of the exciting talent on the independent scene. Jack Cartwheel and Cappucino Jones will prove to be two names to watch as part of WWE ID and have now shared their first experiences from their journies in wrestling.

Living up to his caffeinated name, Jones drank two cups of coffee before stepping into the ring for the first time to calm his nerves. While those two cups did come back to haunt him later on in training, Jones immediately felt like he belonged in the squared circle.

“When I got into the ring for the first time, it was like a shot of Espresso. Everything I did was just different.”

Cartwheel almost missed his first day of training, something he was excited about after seeing his first SPW show. A mix-up meant that Cartwheel arrived at where he thought the training session would be, only to find a locked gate and no ring in sight.

“I went to the wrong place and felt that self-doubt that maybe I wasn’t cut out for this.”

Overcoming this self-imposed anxiety, Cartwheel fought to build up his confidence and is now poised for a major role in wrestling as part of the WWE ID program.

WWE ID Prospects will receive training at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, a venue that Cartwheel should have no trouble finding. Click here to check out our WWE ID tracker to learn all about which independent wrestlers are attached to the program.

Paul Heyman Explains Why He Is Not Fan Of Too Many Titles

0

Paul Heyman believes companies should not have too many titles unless they can make all of them relevant.

Having too many championships is a problem that has plagued both WWE and AEW in recent times. Fans have complained about ROH titles being defended on AEW TV on top of having multiple mid-card titles of their own. WWE has also been criticized for lack of tag team title defenses in recent months, while the company is gearing up to add two more women’s championships to their lineup.

The former ECW owner revealed his thoughts on the subject during a recent interview with Shak Wrestling. He was asked about his time as the SmackDown head writer and whether the reports of him opposing the introduction of a mid-card title were true. Heyman who believed that another belt would undermine the tag team and cruiserweight divisions explained that any championship should be given enough time:

“Yeah. I’m not a big fan of a multitude of titles unless you can give them enough time. We had proper focus at that time on the championships that we held and didn’t feel that we needed more championships to tell better stories, and felt that therefore, the introduction of more championships only waters down the championships that we already have the spotlight on at the moment.”

If You Can’t Make It Relevant: Paul Heyman

Though Paul Heyman explained that the increased number of titles is not directly related to their relevance. According to him, a company should add or subtract championships based on how well they’re able to maintain the division:

“What works, works. What doesn’t, doesn’t. If you can make it relevant, all pun intended to the island of relevancy, then it will work. If you can’t make it relevant, then it won’t. If there are 14 titles and they all mean something, then you should be looking at doing number 15.

If you have seven titles and you’re struggling to put relevancy on all seven, then you need to cut down the number that you have. What’s working? If it’s working, let’s do more of that. If it’s not working, change it.”

Heyman returned to WWE TV this week helping the team of Roman Reigns to recruit their fifth WarGames member CM Punk. The wrestling veteran would be accompanying the OG Bloodline members for their match against Solo Sikoa and their allies at the Survivor Series event this Saturday.

AEW will be delivering some festive action next month with a pair of shows from the legendary Hammerstein Ballroom. AEW will kick-off with the December 21, edition of AEW Collision, dubbed ‘Christmas Collision‘. On December 25, AEW will host its ‘Dynamite on 34th Street,’ a fun nod to the beloved film about a girl who doesn’t believe in Santa Claus.

The two shows will mark AEW’s debut in the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, which hosted several ECW events, including the first two One Night Stand pay-per-views from 2005 to 2006. News of the two shows come after AEW filed trademarks for Christmas Collision and Dynamite on 34th Street earlier this month.

At this time, no matches have been confirmed for either show though the posters above promise some of the very top names on the All-Elite roster. It’s also not been confirmed if the Dynamite show will be pre-taped, allowing the roster Christmas Day to spend with families and loved ones. The fact that both shows are being filmed from the Hammerstein Ballroom has led many to believe Dynamite will be filmed on the same day as the live Collision.

2024 has been a huge year for AEW, with the arrival of Mercedes Mone, Kazuchika Okada, and others. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on AEW and its festive shows set to take place next month.
