Indie Wrestler Shares Great Story Of Roman Reigns Helping Him

0

While we all can have our personal opinion on the character called Roman Reigns, there is no denying that the man behind the gimmick deserves to be respected for all the hard work he has put in over the years.

He deserves this respect even more because he has been doing so while living with his disease for the past 11 years without ever mentioning his struggles and a story from an indie wrestler only adds to this feeling.

Indie Wrestler Connor Braxton recently shared a great story about Reigns from his Twitter account after the Big Dog relinquished the Universal Championship on Raw this week.

Braxton, who trained at Seth Rollins & Marek Brave’s Black And Brave Wrestling Academy in Moline, Illinois recalled the time when he had graduated from the wrestling school and was days away from his first match.

However, he didn’t have wrestling boots and was short on money. So he asked Rollins if there was anyone who was looking to sell a used pair and Seth contacted Roman.

Though, instead of selling the boots, Roman asked if Connor was a good brother and gave him the boots as a present asking him to return the favor to someone else in need in future:

Once again this story proves that whether you cheered or booed the Roman Reigns character who has been appearing on your screens, the man behind it is still a treasure to the business.

Update On John Cena and WWE Crown Jewel Event

12

It looks as though WWE’s Crown Jewel event in November could well be in jeopardy. The show is scheduled to be taking place on November 2nd from King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

One of the Superstars that may not be appearing on the show is 16-time World Champion John Cena. According to Wrestling Observer Radio WWE’s creative team were told on Monday afternoon that Cena wouldn’t be available for the show. Cena was scheduled to take part in the ‘World Cup’ tournament on the card. Interestingly Cena was still advertised for the event on RAW this past Monday night. Whether Cena changed his mind late on Monday or if he may be more inclined to appear on the show if it is moved to a different venue is unconfirmed at this time.

It was mentioned by Dave Meltzer on the WOR show that the Crown Jewel event itself is in “jeopardy.” Reportedly it is a lot less likely to go ahead in Saudi Arabia than it was last week. Tickets were expected to go on sale for the show last Friday but this did not come to fruition.

There are also rumors that Daniel Bryan has also refused to appear at the Crown Jewel event on November 2nd. This however has not been verified and he is still scheduled to face AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.

Smackdown 10/23 Preview

The Usos vs Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles

Last week on Smackdown 1000, the Usos defeated Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles in a tag-team match. The two men who will wrestle for the WWE Championship at Crown Jewel will again take on the Usos tonight.

Daniel Bryan sent a message to the Usos on Twitter earlier this week.

Rusev vs Aiden English

While some fans were likely hoping they would settle their rivalry in Milwaukee, Aiden English and Rusev will clash tonight. This really could be just the start of this angle or the blow-off depending on how strongly WWE feels about it.

Eva Marie Discusses Potential WWE Return, Criticized About Not Being Passionate About Wrestling

4

Eva Marie recently spoke with Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet to talk about a wide range of topics including her WWE career. The former WWE star departed from the company in August 2017 after announcing the news on Instagram. When it comes to a potential WWE return, Marie wouldn’t rule it out as she feels like she has unfinished business there because she still has goals she wants to achieve like being a champion.

“I feel right when I left, I was just about to arrive. So that is something still in me. No, I will not be appearing at Evolution. But … that doesn’t say that I won’t be appearing later on. They need ‘All Red Everything’ to come back and spice things up.”

Throughout her tenure with the company, she has had critics of her in-ring work. Thus, when asked about handling it, she brought up how it was her decision to leave the main roster and go back to NXT in order to get better. She did the hard work from traveling to training to even setting up rings and she felt like the fans criticizing her should back off. Marie mentioned that they can criticize her character and stuff like that.

“You want to cheer for somebody and you want to boo for somebody. And that’s what makes the whole segment so exciting. But then when it was like, ‘ohhhh, she doesn’t care about wrestling,’ I’m like ‘f*ck off.’ Don’t be mad because I got an opportunity and I’m busting my ass out here.”

Marie talked about other topics including whether she’d like to return full-time or part-time, who she wants to wrestle, and more. You can check out the entire interview here.

Jay White Says He Has A Mole In Rival CHAOS Faction

1

“Switchblade” Jay White joined CHAOS at New Year’s Dash this year and turned on them at King of Pro Wrestling. Now, White is claiming there is at least one member of CHAOS secretly working for him from inside the faction.

“I’ll let you in on another thing,” White said backstage from Road to Power Struggle night 2. “I actually have someone working for me on the inside of CHAOS. Now, hold on to that thought.”

The New Zealander was long thought to be destined for Bullet Club but turned down an invitation from Kenny Omega when offered. White then defeated Omega for the IWGP United States Championship, although he would later lose it to Juice Robinson.

White would be at odds with his CHAOS stablemates all year until finally turning on them at King of Pro Wrestling. He also brought Kazuchika Okada’s longtime manager, Gedo, along with him. White has since said he didn’t want to join Bullet Club with Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks and the rest of the Elite, he wanted to side with the Tongans and the BCOGs.

According to White, there are members of CHAOS who are secretly aligned with Bullet Club. White makes the comments near the end of the following video:

Jay White vs CHAOS

Speaking to Okada, White said he has people in CHAOS secretly working for him. White’s predictions and comments have consistently come through over the last year, so it’s possible he is setting the stage for a pending angle. A member of CHAOS could be turning on Okada soon.

White will team up with Bad Luck Fale to take on Berretta and Kazuchika Okada on November 3rd at Power Struggle.

Roman Reigns’ NFL Career May Have Ended Due To Health Concerns

3

Last night on Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns addressed thousands of people inside the arena and millions at home to say he is battling a serious illness. He mentioned he has been battling Leukemia for 11 years and it has recently returned.

WWE does not seem to have publicized Reigns’ previous health struggles but an article from 2015 featuring one of Reigns’ college football teammates, Calvin Johnson, indicates Reigns may have had to cut his NFL career short due to battles with a serious illness.

Johnson and Reigns played together at Georgia Tech in 2006. The article references Reigns having gone undrafted but getting a chance to play with the Vikings. The article then references a serious illness Reigns was dealing with cut his NFL dream short.

“As a free agent, Anoa’i got a shot with the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars, but a serious illness forced him to take some time off,” the article reads. “After spending a season in the CFL, it was clear the NFL dream wasn’t going to happen.”

Roman Reigns’ Health Concerns

This was around 07-08 which matches up with the 11-years-ago timeline Roman referenced last night on Raw. Reigns’ final year in football was 2008 with the CFL’s Edmonton Eskimos. The Edmonton football team is the rival of the Rock’s former CFL team, the Calgary Stampeders.

Becky Lynch On If She Is Concerned By Fans Cheering Her

1

SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch recently took part in a Q&A session with Baltimore Sun to promote this Sunday’s historic Evolution PPV where she talked about a number of things.

Becky first talked about her recent heel turn at the SummerSlam PPV and when asked how the moment was for her, the Champion said that it was incredible to know that the people felt her frustration.

Continuing on the topic, she was asked about all the heelish things she has done since then and if it’s concerning to her that she hasn’t been able to get booed by the fans to which Lynch said that it doesn’t concern her:

“It’s not concerning. They’re reacting and they’re entertained. They’re enjoying the feud. It’s just a matter of what side that they’re on. Some people are on my side and some people are on Charlotte’s side.

I do see it on my Twitter feed and Instagram, that I’m getting a lot more hate as it goes on. But it’s OK, I’m going after what I want. The people that are behind me, they’ll stay behind me. The people that aren’t, well that’s fine. I’ll just go ahead and succeed in spite of them.”

Apart from this, Becky Lynch also talked about possibly competing against the Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series saying that she would love to.

Becky is currently scheduled to defend her Championship against Charlotte Flair in the first ever Last Women Standing match at the upcoming Evolution PPV this Sunday.

SmackDown 1000 Rematch Announced, WWE’s Official Statement On Roman Reigns

0

SmackDown 1000 Rematch Announced

The SmackDown 1000th episode saw Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles teaming up to face the team of Usos, a match which Bryan and Styles lost.

Now WWE has announced that these two will be competing together once again and face the Usos in a SmackDown 1000 rematch at tonight’s episode of the Blue Branded Show.

As noted before, this is not the only thing announced for the show as a Miz TV segment featuring Rey Mysterio and a match between Rusev and Aiden English has been made official as well.

WWE’s Official Statement On Roman Reigns

In one of the most shocking opening segments in the history of Raw, Roman Reigns announced that he will have to relinquish the Universal Championship due to his battle with Leukemia.

After the announcement, WWE released the following official statement from their site, revealing that Roman has made his battle public in an effort to raise awareness:

“Tonight on Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns (aka Joe Anoa’i) announced that he is relinquishing the WWE Universal Championship and taking a leave of absence from WWE as he once again fights leukemia, which had been in remission since late 2008. Reigns is taking his battle with leukemia public in an effort to raise awareness and funds for research in order to advance cures for the disease.”

Alexa Bliss Injured Again

7

Alexa Bliss had been out of action in past few weeks due to a reported arm injury. She only returned to action this past Friday night but word is that she is already out with another injury.

According to F4Wonline.com, Bliss suffered another injury while competing at Saturday’s Live Event from Hartford, CT. Word is that the former Raw Women’s Champion suffered a concussion during the show but the site was unable to confirm these reports.

It’s worth mentioning here that some Twitter accounts are claiming that Bliss broke her nose instead, though there doesn’t appear to be a solid source to these rumors.

Alexa Bliss had been out of action since the Hell In A Cell PPV last month where she challenged Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey for her title.

It was noted that she was taken out of an active schedule after she began complaining about numbness in her arm following the PPV.

There is no news yet on if Bliss will stay out action for long and how will it affect her announced match for the upcoming Evolution PPV but we’ll keep you posted.

As of this writing, Alexa Bliss is still scheduled to team up with Mickie James to face Hall of Famers Lita and Trish Stratus at the Women’s exclusive PPV this Sunday.

Roman Reigns Backstage After His Announcement, What Happened After Raw? (Video)

5

This week’s episode of Raw started and ended with awe as we saw some of the biggest wrestling stories of the year unfolding during the show.

The opening segment saw Roman Reigns delivering an emotional speech and revealing that he will have to relinquish the Universal Championship due to the return of leukemia.

The segment ended with Roman leaving the title in the ring and heading backstage with his Shield brothers. WWE posted this behind the scenes video of the now former Universal Champion greeting with other WWE superstars backstage after the revelation:

On the other hand, the ending of Raw saw Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeating the team of Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler to win the Raw Tag Team Championships.

However, this duo didn’t celebrate for long. Ambrose turned on his Shield-brother moments after the bout ended and left Rollins laying at the ringside after a vicious post-match attack.

After the show went off air, WWE posted the following video of Seth from their YouTube account in which he can be seen recovering from this shock and making his way back to the bakcstage area:
