AEW Removed From Britt Baker’s Social Media Bios

0

Britt Baker was the first woman signed to an AEW talent contract in 2019 and for a while, was the top star of the women’s division. Baker’s days on top are now a distant memory, and her recent social media activity may have teased a bold move.

Baker has removed all references to AEW in her Instagram bio, distancing herself from the All-Elite promotion. On X, Baker’s bio is similarly AEW-free and makes reference to her role as a wrestler and a dentist.

Britt Baker Social Media

Baker’s alterations come amid an interesting time in the DMD’s career. Baker hasn’t competed since November 2024, and has competed just five times over the past year. Baker remains active on social media though rarely makes reference to AEW.

Interestingly, her latest reference to AEW on social media saw her throw support behind Saraya following the British wrestler’s exit from AEW.

Baker’s absence has left fans wondering as to whether her time with AEW may also be coming to an end. In January, Chris Jericho cast doubt on the idea that Baker will leave AEW, following reports of alleged heat on the former Women’s World Champion.

If Baker does end her time with AEW, fans can expect WWE to make an effort to sign Baker who could also see interest from promotions overseas such as STARDOM. Whatever’s next, Britt Baker remains a talking point among wrestling fans, even with her hiatus from AEW growing day-by-day.

CM Punk Argues His Famous ‘Pipe Bomb’ Promo Did Not Break Kayfabe

0

CM Punk has reflected on his legendary 2011 “Pipe Bomb” promo, arguing in a new interview that despite popular belief, he did not break kayfabe. Instead, he believes the promo’s enduring power comes from the fact that it is still “almost misunderstood” by fans.

Speaking with Allenownz Wrasslin, CM Punk was asked about the perception that his famous promo was one of the first times the curtain was truly pulled back for modern fans. He disagreed with that assessment, contrasting his promo with the 1996 “Curtain Call” incident, which he views as a genuine exposure of the business.

“I did not expose anything. You juxtapose it with the Curtain Call, which was 100% I mean, that pissed off Gerry Brisco,” Punk said. “I would be curious to have anybody try to explain to me how those two things are similar, because they’re drastically, drastically different, right?”

Punk explained that his goal was not to expose the business, but to use real-life issues and sentiments that fans were already aware of and incorporate them into a televised storyline for the first time.

“I took what I knew smart fans to think was taboo, and said things on television that nobody had ever said before in a context within a storyline, right?” he explained. “I did not beat anybody over the head with exposing the business… That, to me, proves how powerful a moment of what I did was, because it’s still almost misunderstood.”

Cardi B Regrets Trash-Talking WWE Women Before SummerSlam

0

Cardi B has admitted she regrets exchanging trash talk with WWE women ahead of her hosting role at SummerSlam 2025. After interacting with the WWE women’s roster in person, the rapper acknowledged their physical presence compared to her own.

“I was talking a lot of smack with the WWE girls on Twitter for like two weeks. You know, the b***** are kinda big—I kinda changed my mind,” she explained in a humorous tone.

The remarks went viral across social media platforms. Cardi B is set to host at least the first night of SummerSlam 2025, marking a significant crossover between hip-hop and professional wrestling.

The Social Media Feuds

Chelsea Green: The conflict began when the former Women’s United States Champion compared herself to NBA legend Michael Jordan on social media. Cardi B responded dismissively, prompting Green to express frustration that Cardi was finally responding after months of attempting to get her attention.

Naomi: Cardi engaged in extended exchanges with Women’s World Champion Naomi, starting when she reacted to promotional material for Naomi’s title defense against Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY. The interactions revealed Naomi as a Cardi B fan, adding entertainment value to their online sparring.

Bayley: The former multi-time champion challenged Cardi B, noting her availability at SummerSlam. Cardi’s response to Triple H was simply to “leave her at home.”

When the feuding escalated, Cardi tagged WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H, stating “Listen @TripleH these girls trying me.”

Triple H responded: “I guess we’ll see who steps to you in person at #SummerSlam,” fueling speculation about potential physical involvement beyond hosting duties.

Cody Rhodes On The Rock: “I Consider Him Always There”

0

Cody Rhodes has commented on the status of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, stating that while he considers “The Final Boss” to always be a part of WWE, fans should let him have his moment in Hollywood.

Speaking with Gabby LaSpisa on Gabby AF, Rhodes was asked about a potential return for The Rock. He expressed his support for The Rock’s current focus on his acting career.

“Right now, what he’s doing, people need to let him have his moment. Working with (Martin) Scorsese, Smashing Machine, he’s really going for it,” Rhodes said. “As a wrestler, love or hate, you enjoy that. You see that and go, ‘Get this done.'”

Rhodes clarified that just because The Rock isn’t on television, it doesn’t mean he isn’t part of the company, citing his role on the TKO Board of Directors. “I consider him always there just because he is truly on the board and massive part of our world,” he said. The Rock’s last on-screen appearance was at the Elimination Chamber event, where his actions led to John Cena’s heel turn against Rhodes.

While The Rock’s return to television is uncertain, his family’s story is a central focus in WWE. The ongoing civil war within The Bloodline will see his cousins, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso, reunite at SummerSlam this weekend to take on the faction now led by Solo Sikoa. Many fans continue to speculate that “The Final Boss” could eventually return to get involved in the family drama.

0

WWE Superstars Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest, known collectively as the Judgment Day “Terror Twins,” celebrated their close bond ahead of this weekend’s SummerSlam 2025 premium live event in New York City by getting matching tattoos featuring a Statue of Liberty-inspired skull design.

Both Ripley, set to compete for the Women’s World Championship at MetLife Stadium, and Priest, who is in action on SmackDown, unveiled their new ink on social media, showcasing the unique artwork done by local NYC tattoo artists.

Cody Rhodes Addresses Heel Turn Rumors Ahead of SummerSlam

0

Cody Rhodes has revealed his thoughts on a potential heel turn.

With John Cena seemingly reverting back to his babyface persona ahead of their SummerSlam encounter, there have been rumblings of the American Nightmare potentially joining the dark side to win back the WWE title at the upcoming PLE.

The former champion discussed the potential of a heel turn during his appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast. He mentioned how being a heel is much easier in today’s world compared to being a babyface. Cody Rhodes claimed however, that having the connection with fans as a babyface is special:

“There’s always this argument: ‘Oh, Cody should turn heel. Will he turn?’ I don’t think so. They can boo all they want. If certain people decide, ‘Yeah, Cody’s a heel to me,’ that’s fine. But I don’t think I’d ever turn, because there’s just too much of a connection with the people who were on board with me from the beginning.”

Cody Rhodes later discussed how heels usually get the best social media posts and one-liners while babyfaces struggle to come up with something interesting. He explained that you have to rise above all that to be a good wrestling hero, which is not an easy feat.

The former AEW star will be challenging the 17-time world champion in a Street Fight at night two of SummerSlam from MetLife Stadium this Sunday.

Zelina Vega Reveals Weird Vince McMahon Directive From 2021

0

Zelina Vega has revealed another one of Vince McMahon’s crazy directives.

The former US Champion recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview. Among other things, she was also asked about winning the inaugural Queen of The Ring tournament back in 2021.

Talking about the changes in her character after the win, Vega revealed that it was Vince McMahon who asked her to do the weird accent:

“That’s where the weird Australian, British kind of accent started. So yeah, because Vince asked me, can you do an accent?

I was like, I could do a really bad one. And he’s like, that’s even better. Do that! I’m like, all right, cool. So yeah, that’s how it started.”

Make It Yours: Zelina Vega

The female star changed her name to Queen Zelina after her victory and started carrying a scepter, similar to Booker T. During the interview, Zelina Vega revealed that she actually talked to the WWE Hall of Famer about it, who encouraged her to make the thing her own:

I did talk to Booker T right before I won it and I was like, ‘Hey, are you cool with me doing an accent if I end up doing this?’

And he was like, ‘Yeah, for sure.’ I was talking to him and Sharmell, he’s like, ‘Make sure you make it yours. But whatever feels natural to you, just amplify that.’

Vega mentioned that it was really cool for her to get to talk to Booker T because the WCW veteran was his favorite King of The Ring winner.

Charlotte Flair Names Her Greatest Rival In WWE

0

In a unique new interview with Netflix, Charlotte Flair has named her greatest rival from her storied career. While answering rapid-fire questions on a roller coaster, “The Queen” revealed that she considers fellow Four Horsewoman, Becky Lynch, to be her top adversary.

Flair has faced a who’s who of top stars over the past decade, but when asked during the chaotic interview to name her greatest rival, she gave a definitive answer after a moment of panic from the ride itself. “I don’t know. Oh my God. Oh sh*t. I think Becky Lynch,” Flair said.

The rivalry between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch is one of the most significant in the history of WWE’s women’s division. As two of the Four Horsewomen who helped usher in the Women’s Revolution, their careers have been intertwined. They have gone from best friends to bitter enemies, culminating in their history-making triple-threat match against Ronda Rousey in the main event of WrestleMania 35.

While Flair reflected on her greatest singles rivalry, her focus tonight is on tag team gold. On Night One of the two-night SummerSlam premium live event at MetLife Stadium, Charlotte Flair will team up with her current partner, Alexa Bliss, to challenge Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Michael Cole Reveals Thoughts on SummerSlam Becoming Two Night Event

0

Michael Cole has revealed what he thinks about WWE PLEs expanding to two nights.

WWE is set to present its first-ever two-night SummerSlam event this year. This marks an important change for the company as it’ll be the first PPV outside of WrestleMania to expand to multiple nights. The Show of Shows first became a two-night event with WrestleMania 36 back in 2020.

The longtime WWE commentator was asked for his thoughts on the matter during a recent interview with WFAN. Michael Cole said that he loves the expansion because it helps combat viewer fatigue:

“I love the two-night format, especially for our big shows, WrestleMania and SummerSlam. Because we were getting to the point on these big shows where we were going five, six, sometimes seven hours, right? That is viewer fatigue.

I think now we’re able to get more of our talent on the cards. We can keep the shows to three and a half to four hours. And we have two main events, each and every night.

I actually say four main events because I think the two matches that kick off the show and the two matches that end the show are main events. So I love the two-night format.”

Michael Cole also discussed how the fans have started making a vacation out of the big events with various activities taking place throughout the week instead of just the WWE shows on the weekend.

While the WWE veteran is happy about the upcoming event, another star has expressed their frustration about the same. You can check out more about it here.

John Cena’s Outta Nowhere Face Turn Upends SummerSlam Main Event

0

On the final WWE SmackDown before SummerSlam 2025, John Cena opened the show in Newark, NJ, with a dramatic promo alongside Cody Rhodes. In front of a mixed but passionate crowd, Cena dropped his controversial heel persona, admitting that he’d lost himself trying to “make shocking TV” over the past months alongside The Rock and Travis Scott.

He thanked Cody Rhodes for giving him the “kick in the butt” that awakened him, confessed to abandoning his core values, and declared: “August 1, 2025, the day John Cena came back to WWE.” In classic Cena fashion, he ended by toasting beers with Rhodes and telling the crowd that whoever leaves SummerSlam with the title, “the fans win” because they’ll see Cena at his best in a no-rules, high-stakes street fight.

Cena’s pivot marks a massive, sudden shift in what had been WWE’s marquee storyline – his shocking heel turn earlier this year and subsequent alliance with Travis Scott and The Rock had dominated headlines and set up months of intrigue. The decision to abruptly drop the heel run (just as WWE Unreal’s Netflix premiere pulls back the curtain on how the whole storyline was conceived) signals a drastic course change.

By reverting to his beloved babyface persona, WWE is betting on authenticity and nostalgia after the heel run reportedly struggled to connect long-term with the audience. The move leaves unresolved threads and dashes expectations of an extended villainous Cena run, amplifying anticipation and uncertainty for SummerSlam and beyond.

The main event of SummerSlam Night 2 is now supercharged—not only is it Cena’s possible last stand as champion, but the narrative has shifted to putting both superstars’ “true selves” on the line. Fans will see now see “Never Give Up” Cena go against Cody Rhodes, who has clawed his way back into contention and might even be positioned for a heel turn himself.

With no rules in this street fight and after the emotional SmackDown faceoff, the match is expected to be both personal and explosive. Cena’s return to his iconic persona raises the stakes for his legacy, and many anticipate that this could be the moment for Rhodes to finally dethrone him, altering the WWE landscape as WWE’s biggest summer storyline takes another wild turn.

CM Punk Takes Massive Shots At Seth Rollins And Drew McIntyre

0

On the eve of his World Heavyweight Championship match at SummerSlam, CM Punk took some major verbal shots at his rivals, Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre. During an appearance on the SummerSlam kickoff show, Punk dismissed his past feuds as personal and petty, while praising his upcoming bout with GUNTHER as “strictly business.”

When discussing his mindset for the title match, Punk contrasted it with his previous programs. He made it clear he views his past opponents as children who hold onto petty grievances.

“For the first time, I’m staring across the ring from a competitor and it’s not personal — it’s strictly business,” Punk said. “It’s not some crying little pss baby whining about something that happened when they were 16, or mad that I moved their shoes in the locker room back in 2009, or whatever else these infantile little btches complained about when it comes to CM Punk.”

Punk explained that his match against GUNTHER feels different, comparing the focus on pure competition to his famed “Summer of Punk” eras in Ring of Honor and WWE. “Tomorrow night, CM Punk vs. GUNTHER is about competition. It reminds me of the Summer of Punk — 2005 and 2011,” he stated.

Punk’s comments set the stage for his massive championship match tonight on Night One of SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium. He will challenge GUNTHER for the World Heavyweight Championship in what is expected to be one of the main events of the weekend. According to the final betting odds, Punk is a slight favorite to defeat “The Ring General” and capture his first world title since returning to WWE.

Brie Bella Confirms WWE SummerSlam Status

0

After weeks of speculation about a potential return, Brie Bella has confirmed that she will be in attendance for Night One of the WWE SummerSlam premium live event tonight, joining her twin sister, Nikki Bella.

Speaking on their Nikki and Brie podcast, the WWE Hall of Famers confirmed they will both be at MetLife Stadium for the show. Nikki noted that they plan to watch from the crowd, joking that she hopes her sister doesn’t go into “Brie Mode.”

“We’re all going to be watching Saturday. Brie and I are actually going to be in the crowd. Hopefully, she won’t be in Brie Mode,” Nikki said. Brie added that she was personally invited and will be watching from a suite with “free alcohol.”

The confirmation of Brie’s attendance comes after she recently stated on her podcast that she believed her husband, Bryan Danielson, working for AEW was a “roadblock” to her making an in-ring return to WWE. Her appearance at a major WWE event, even as a spectator, is sure to fuel more speculation about a potential Bella Twins reunion in the future.

While Brie will be in the crowd, her sister Nikki has been active on the Raw brand, recently forming an unexpected partnership with the winner of the Evolution Battle Royal, Stephanie Vaquer. Vaquer is scheduled to challenge for a world championship at the upcoming Clash in Paris event. Brie’s presence at SummerSlam will surely lead to more questions about a potential Bella Twins reunion and how that might affect Nikki’s new alliance.

GUNTHER Dealing With Nose Injury Ahead of SummerSlam Title Defense

0

A concerning injury report has emerged just hours before SummerSlam, with World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER reportedly dealing with a health issue that could impact his immediate future in WWE.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer’s Daily Update, the reigning champion is nursing a significant concern heading into tonight’s premium live event. Meltzer reported that GUNTHER has a “nose issue that may require him to take some time off.”

The timing of this report adds considerable intrigue to tonight’s World Heavyweight Championship main event, where GUNTHER is scheduled to defend his title against CM Punk. This marquee match represents the first-ever televised singles encounter between the two top Raw superstars and serves as the headlining bout for SummerSlam’s opening night.

GUNTHER has not shown visible signs of the reported nose issue during his recent television appearances, and the bout remains scheduled as planned.

For CM Punk, this represents a crucial opportunity to capture his first world championship since returning to WWE in 2023.

Punk’s Final Message to Gunther

At Friday’s WWE SummerSlam Kickoff party, CM Punk delivered this message to the champion:

“I had a Hall of Fame career. I have a wife that loves me. I have a beautiful baby dog at home. I’ve got stocks, I’ve got generational wealth. I don’t need to be here, I want to be here because I NEED that, I am addicted to this, so to me, what happens if I don’t win? I just get back up and try again!

“I guarantee you this is not the last time me and you are gonna lock up, but you take all the things I’ve done, and all the things I’m gonna do, the point I’m trying to make is for me, the action is the juice, I am always going to be in your face until I beat you for that.

“It just so happens that this is the Summer of Punk, and tomorrow, I become World Heavyweight Champion!”

MJF Becomes New CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion

0

Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) has captured his first championship in Mexico, defeating Averno on August 1, 2025, at CMLL Viernes Espectacular in Arena Mexico to become the new CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion.

Immediate Challenge and Title Defense Date

Following his victory, MJF was immediately challenged by Zandokan Jr. for his first title defense. The championship bout has been scheduled for August 15, 2025 – just two weeks after MJF’s victory.

Post-Match Promo and Future Plans

After the show, MJF cut a promo alongside Jon Cruz, targeting both Místico and Zandokan Jr.. This continues the heated rivalry between MJF and Místico that began at AEW Grand Slam Mexico in June, where MJF controversially unmasked the lucha libre legend after their disqualification finish.

CMLL 92nd Anniversary Match in September

The tension between MJF and Místico appears to be building toward a championship match at CMLL’s 92nd Anniversary show on September 19, 2025.

The championship victory represents a major milestone for MJF in his cross-promotional work with CMLL, adding international gold to his resume while continuing to generate tremendous heat with Mexican wrestling fans.

Becky Lynch Set For Big Presentation Change

0

Becky Lynch is set for a big presentation change.

The Women’s Intercontinental Champion recently posted a social media story teasing a collaboration with the band The Wonder Years. It made fans speculate on what the female star was planning.

Fightful Select has now provided an update on the whole thing. According to them The Man is actually set to debut a new entrance theme song by the band.

Becky Lynch currently uses a song called ‘Celtic Invasion’ as her WWE theme. It was produced by CFO$ about 10 years ago, before Def Rebel took over WWE music production back in 2019.

The new theme which was completed ‘a number of months ago’, features lyrics and an intro saying ‘The Man Has Come Around,’ as opposed to Lynch’s current music-only theme.

The Women’s IC Champion is set to defend her title against Lyra Valkyria at Night 2 of SummerSlam this weekend from MetLife Stadium. Valkyria will not be able to challenge for the title again as long as Becky is holding the belt if she loses.

It’s unknown when Becky Lynch will debut this new theme, but the story tease suggests it’ll be coming soon and the PLE seems like the perfect opportunity for the same. You can check out all the latest SummerSlam news at our PPV hub here.

Chelsea Green ‘Upset’ Over Glaring SummerSlam Omission

0

Chelsea Green is not happy with the SummerSlam match card.

WWE will be presenting the first-ever two-night SummerSlam PPV from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, this weekend. The card for the event has been finalized with one glaring omission being the Women’s US Championship, which will not be defended at the show.

The WWE Diva who helped put the title on the map as the Inaugural champion spoke up about the belt being left off the PLE card during a recent interview with The Ringer. Chelsea Green mentioned how she worked very hard to make the title relevant during her reign:

“It definitely makes me upset. I feel like I really put in work with that title. When I first got that title, I did not stop working. I won it before Christmas, I worked through Christmas and literally every single day until I dropped the title. So, it does make me upset.”

We Could Do More With It: Chelsea Green

WWE has announced 12 matches across two nights for the upcoming show, including one featuring Jelly Roll. The Women’s US title however, is the only female-centric main roster championship not being defended at the MetLife Stadium.

Chelsea Green mentioned how the belt seems to have lost some of its relevance in recent times, despite her efforts to help the current champion, Giulia:

“I feel like I laid the groundwork for this title to mean something, and unfortunately, we’ve taken a step back from that but that’s not the girls fault.

I do make sure that every time Giulia shows up at TV, I hype her up. She should still feel amazing for holding that title, whether it’s being used on TV and being defended or not. I do feel like we could do more with it.”

The Women’s US title has only been defended once since June, when Giulia beat Zelina Vega to win the belt. The championship was also left off the card for the All Women Evolution PLE in July, raising questions about the company’s booking of the mid-card title.

Aleister Black Disputes Narrative of His Time In AEW

0

Aleister Black has fired back at the narrative about his time in AEW.

The former NXT champion was part of the AEW roster for 4 years before his contract expired in February this year, and he returned to WWE. Many fans found his run with the rival promotion to be underwhelming, and there have been many rumors as to why the company did not use him to his full potential.

The 40-year-old addressed some of these speculations during his interview with The Ringer ahead of SummerSlam. He discussed how some have been pushing the narrative that he was only biding his time in AEW until he could return to WWE which is not true:

“It becomes this thing where people want to desperately have a narrative. ‘He never wanted to be in AEW.’ That’s completely false. That’s absolutely not true.

I had a great time in AEW. I had a lot of fun. Did I do everything that I wanted to do? No, but that’s okay. At the end of the day, that’s not my company and I don’t have any say.”

It Doesn’t Make Sense: Aleister Black

Despite making his name as a singles star prior, Aleister Black only had a limited number of singles matches in Tony Khan’s promotion. In the last three years, the former champion had only wrestled 4 singles matches under the AEW banner, and some claimed that the refusal to put over other people was the reason behind this.

The wrestling veteran, however, questioned this belief, saying that he would have been positioned higher on the card if he had that kind of pull with the management:

“It’s the same way, ‘He didn’t want to lay down for people.’ If you really think that I have so much pull in the company that I can say who I’m not going up against or lay down against, you think I’m not going to vouch for myself or put myself in the main events? You think I’m going to politic, ‘I’m not going to lay down for this person.’ It doesn’t make sense.”

Aleister Black is currently not booked for the SummerSlam PPV and he is yet to be featured in a PLE match since his return to the company in April.

Watch: Veteran Tag Team Reunites In Dark Match After SmackDown

0

A reunion after SmackDown.

The company presented the SummerSlam go home episode of the Blue Branded show from Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey tonight.

The episode featured the final build for the upcoming PPV including a segment between John Cena and Cody Rhodes with the former seemingly turning face before his upcoming title defence.

The broadcast ended with a brawl between the teams of Randy Orton & Jelly Roll and Drew McIntyre & Logan Paul, before their battle at the PPV.

The Usos Reunited

Though the show didn’t end there for the fans in attendance, as there were multiple dark matches after SmackDown went off air. The first dark match saw Sheamus defeating Rusev in singles competition.

The second dark match saw Jimmy and Jey Uso reuniting for a tag team match against the duo of Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh.

The brothers spent a long time playing the crowd during their entrance before the heels attacked them to get the match going. In the end, The Usos picked up the victory to send the crowd home happy.

This is the first time The Usos have reunited since before WrestleMania 41. They last competed together in a tag team match against A-Town Down Under during the March 24 episode of SmackDown.

Kylie Rae Crowned First WWE ID Women’s Champion

0

Kylie Rae’s name will be forever etched in history as the first-ever WWE ID Women’s Champion. Rae made history at GCW Presents WWE ID Showcase by winning the gold in a fierce triple threat that included Zayda Steel and Zara Zakher. Rae’s moment of glory came when Steel was forced to tap out to a crossface submission.

The WWE ID Women’s Championship comes with a unique stipulation — it’s open to all independent talent. That means that non-WWE contracted talent will regularly have the opportunity to capture WWE gold. Rae, already part of the WWE ID program and a regular on WWE EVOLVE, now becomes the division’s first champion.

For Rae, this victory is as big for her personally as it is professionally. This win comes close to four years as Rae announced that she’d be taking a break from wrestling due to mental health concerns. At the time, it was unclear when fans would see the fun-loving wrestler in the ring again, but now she’s both back, and a champion.

Rae’s victory not only cements her place in WWE ID history but also opens the door for a wave of new challengers from across the independent scene. It remains to be seen who from the Independent Wrestling scene steps up to the new champion.

0

While speaking to Wrestle Figure News, Strickland was asked if he was serious about his new five-year contract, which he signed in 2024, being his last. He confirmed that is the case and explained his loyalty to AEW.

“I meant every word. I’ve never lied to the fans about that kind of stuff,” Swerve said. “Honestly, I don’t want to give my talent, my ability, my mind, my body, or my soul to anyone else. I want to give all of that to AEW, because they’ve given me everything I need.”

Strickland elaborated on what motivates him, stating that he is driven by the challenge of helping AEW grow in every aspect. He also noted his interest in a future backstage role where he can help mentor talent and explore new ideas.

“I don’t want to be just a part in the machine—I want to help run it,” he explained. “But the cool thing is, I can still be hands-on. I can still be with the people, helping, teaching, exploring new ideas. Not just repeating what’s always been done, but crafting new ways and exploring uncharted territory.”

Strickland’s long-term commitment to AEW comes as he is positioned for a major championship opportunity. At the All In: Texas pay-per-view on July 12, he and Will Ospreay defeated The Young Bucks in a high-stakes match. The victory now allows Strickland to challenge for the AEW World Championship, currently held by “Hangman” Adam Page, whenever he chooses.

Charlotte Flair Says She ‘Lost The Importance’ Of What Made Her Special

Charlotte Flair has been enjoying a renewed connection with the WWE fans in recent weeks, and in a new interview, she has opened up about the personal shift that has led to this change in her on-screen character.

Speaking with Fightful, “The Queen” explained that for years, she felt she lost what originally made her character connect with the audience. She believed that trying to be “untouchable” and “perfect” ultimately disconnected her from the fans.

“I think I’ve kind of over the years lost the importance of what made Charlotte special. I thought it was being untouchable,” Flair said. “Charlotte was in her own box trying to be perfect all the time and [I think] that disconnected her from the audience.”

Flair continued by saying that embracing her real-life struggles and being more open has allowed her to reconnect with the fans. “With everything that I’ve been through personally that I’ve tried to hide or not talk about or pretend wasn’t happening, was really what made my character so tough,” she explained. “It was like, you know what, these scars or trauma or whatever I’ve been through is what has made her special. Owning that and opening up… Really, that’s all it took was to be yourself, not pretending to be some perfect queen. It’s been great.”

Flair’s new perspective will be on display this weekend as she steps onto one of wrestling’s biggest stages. At the two-night SummerSlam premium live event, she is scheduled to team up with her new partner, Alexa Bliss, to challenge Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Mark Copani Open to WWE Return But Not As Muhammad Hassan

One of WWE’s most controversial characters, Muhammad Hassan, was written off TV in 2005 after a year on the main roster. Two decades later, fans are yet to see Hassan step back in the ring, but could that change one-day?

Speaking to TheA2theK Wrestling podcast, Mark Copani, the man behind the Hassan character, reflected on a potential return. Given the controversy of the character two decades ago, and the ongoing political climate, Copani would be wary about revisiting the role of the Arab-American heel.

“It depends how it’s presented because I can never go out there and pretend to be Muhammad Hassan. I mean, crying out loud, I’m the director of human resource. My job is the rules and perception.”

Copani’s days of angering fans worldwide with themes of racial discrimination and prejudice are behind him, but wrestling may not. Copani would be lying if he said he wasn’t interested in returning in a way “without p*ssing anybody off.”

“You miss that energy from the crowd. You know, I I miss everything about being in the ring. I miss everything about wrestling. I don’t miss the travel, at least the extent to which you have to travel… I’d be lying if I said I’d never want to have that experience again.”

For Copani, any kind of return would not be the start of a second run, but instead a “one and done” situation. But with tensions in politics continuing to rage, it remains to be seen if Copani will ever get the tactful one-off return he hopes for two decades after his WWE exit.
