Roman Reigns Comments On Criticism From Facing Brock Lesnar Again

6

Roman Reigns will once again face Brock Lesnar for a WWE World Title.

Reigns is set to challenge “The Beast” at the company’s SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV) this weekend for the Universal Title. The action goes down from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on August 19th.

This will be the fourth one-on-one bout between Lesnar and Reigns for a WWE World Title. Lesnar and Reigns first collided at WrestleMania 31 for the WWE World Title. In the end, Seth Rollins cashed in his Money In The Bank (MITB) briefcase to spoil their moment.

Next, Reigns challenged Lesnar on “The Grandest Stage Of Them All” three years later at WrestleMania 34. Lesnar defeated Reigns clean after a bloody back-and-forth contest. And lastly, Reigns again failed to capture the Universal Title from Lesnar at The Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia.

Reigns Speared Lesnar outside of the cage; and although his feet hit the ground first, Lesnar’s back landed before. Lesnar was declared the winner. Now Reigns will get a fourth opportunity at defeating “The Beast.”

There has been some criticism amongst the professional wrestling community about these two being matched-up yet again. Reigns recently addressed these criticisms in an interview with Sporting News. Here’s what he had to say:

“I think it’s awesome. We have a lot of critics. A lot of opinions nowadays with social media and everybody being able to connect. People can say whatever they want but I think 20 years from now, if you look at it, the three years, the first one we had (WrestleMania 31), that was a banger. That was two titans going at it. We killed each other. Then we had a couple of multi-man matches mixed throughout then the next one at ‘Mania (33).

“Say what you want — by the end of it, if you go back and watch the physicality, you can say whatever you want. Oh, there’s a lot of suplexes. But it’s Brock Lesnar. He’s a big ol’ giant, cornfed wrestler that throws bodies around. With blood all over the canvas, I thought it was a pretty good story and a good, physical contest.

“Then the third one, singles-wise, was in Saudi Arabia and I speared the guy through the freaking cage. It was the craziest action sequence other than Titus (O’Neil) about sliding back to America. I thought that was a pretty good contest as well. I think in due time, on top of what he’s doing with bouncing between UFC, there’s nobody like him.

“We literally have another one that is the top name in Ronda Rousey and you don’t hear her floating with the idea of getting back in that Octagon but Brock Lesnar is ready to step in there tomorrow if you’d let him.

“I think he’s — not to sound like Paul (Heyman) — he’s a once-in-a-lifetime athlete and for me to have this awesome rivalry with him over the past three years, I think it’s a huge defining mark for my career and it definitely was a launching pad coming from 2015.”

Ricochet On Keeping His Ring Name In WWE

1

WWE NXT Superstar Ricochet recently did an interview with TV Insider to talk about several professional wrestling topics. During their conversations, Ricochet talked about finally getting to WWE after having worked for several promotions beforehand.

Ricochet has worked for the likes of Chikara, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Dragon Gate, New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and Lucha Underground. Ricochet said working in WWE has been exciting since day one:

“WWE has been exciting since day one. Right now, it has been figuring out who I am going to be and what I’m going to be about. From the talent to the coaches to the medical staff to everyone in the locker room, it’s been amazing.”

He also talked about all the guidance he has received working at the WWE’s Performance Center:

“They’ve all helped me a lot and shown me how to look at wrestling totally different, in the best way possible,” he said. “Just about the timing, having positioning. Top to-bottom, in the ring and out of the ring, I’m looking at it in a whole new space of mind. I think it’s for the better.”

Keeping The “Ricochet” Ring Name

Ricochet then talked about getting to keep his “Ricochet” ring name in WWE after spending the past 15 years building it up:

“It was cool because the last 15 years of my life has been about trying to build up a name. When I got to WWE, there was some rumblings about changing it. I was okay with that because it has worked in the past, and I had a few choices lined up.

“But when they said I was able to keep it, it meant the world to me because it was definitely a name I put my blood, sweat and tears in building. I built my own name. All the hard work built up to this.”

More Details On Jim Neidhart’s Passing

We have some more details on Jim Neidhart’s passing.

It was announced yesterday that former WWE Tag Team Champion Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart had passed away. Neidhart is the father of current WWE Superstar Natalya. WWE paid tribute to Neidhart with a video package during Monday Night RAW last night.

According to a report from TMZ, Neidhart fell down at around 6:30 A.M. in his Florida home. He passed away shortly thereafter. Neidhart’s wife, Elizabeth, told emergency personnel that Neidhart collapsed while having a seizure. He hit his head during the fall.

She added that Neidhart got out of bed after having difficulty sleeping. He was going to change the thermostat. When he touched the thermostat he “turned weirdly as if he were about to dance. He then fell towards the wall and ground.”

Elizabeth subsequently called 911 as she thought he was suffering from a seizure. She noted that Neidhart “suffers from seizures and takes medication” for them. Neidhart hadn’t had a seizure since December of 2017.

When emergency personnel arrived at Neidhart’s home in Wesley Chapel, Florida, he was found on the floor with a four-inch gash on his face. Investigators also found medication in the home but determined that it had not been abused.

Dana White Reacts To Roman Reigns’ RAW Promo, Samoa Joe Documentary

Dana White’s Reaction To Roman Reigns RAW Comments

As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Greensboro, NC at the Greensboro Coliseum on the USA Network, Roman Reigns opened the third hour with a promo in the ring about his upcoming battle against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view event that takes place this Sunday (August 19, 2018) in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center.

During this promo, Reigns stated that he would take back his Universal Title at SummerSlam and would send Lesnar so far back to the UFC that he would find his head stuck in UFC President Dana White’s a**. White took to his official Twitter account to briefly comment on the promo by writing the following:

Kenny Omega Takes Shot At Hiroshi Tanahashi

2

The current IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Kenny Omega, has fired a shot at Hiroshi Tanahashi. Omega referred to Tanahashi as an “egomaniac”, said he’s glad he won’t be at All In and referred to his fans as a cult.

He made his comments in a reply to the newest English broadcast team member, Chris Charlton.

“What’s crazy is that his dwindling mini cult will still believe every word he says. A complete egomaniac. Sure glad he ain’t #allin”

Omega’s comments were made in response to Tanahashi saying Ibushi would never reach his true potential while aligned with Omega.

As Omega is the IWGP Heavyweight Champion and Tanahashi the G1 Winner, the two could meet in the main event of WrestleKingdom. Omega will need to defend his title before then, however, and Tanahashi will have to defend his G1 briefcase as well.

Kenny Omega vs Hiroshi Tanahashi

Tanahashi said he would only go on to face Omega in the Tokyo Dome if he successfully retains the G1 briefcase against Kazuchika Okada. Although Tanahashi won the B-Block in the G1 this year, he only wrestled Okada to a draw on the final night of the round-robin.

The only wrestler to defeat Tanahashi in the G1 this year was Jay White. Tanahashi will likely defend the briefcase against him as well.

As for Omega, he’ll have to defend his IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Tomohiro Ishii next. He could have to defend the title against either Kota Ibushi or Toru Yano before WrestleKingdom as well.

His title match against Ishii has yet to be scheduled.

– Charlotte comes out first to kick off tonight’s show. Tom Phillips tells us from the broadcast table that AJ Styles is here tonight to address Samoa Joe one more time before their SummerSlam match on Sunday. Becky Lynch comes out to the ring to join Charlotte next, and then Women’s Champion Carmella comes out. Carmella gets on the mic and says the only thing worse than Paige making her defend her Title against them at SummerSlam, is Paige forcing her to come out tonight to talk face-to-face to Becky and Charlotte before their match on Sunday. Carmella tells Becky that the only thing she’s better than Charlotte at is being a clown, and Carmella has beaten Charlotte multiple times, so being Champion right now is good. Charlotte tells Carmella that her run is over, and her lying cheating and manipulating ends at SummerSlam. Charlotte says Carmella is a diva living in a women’s era. Carmella says her beauty, body, and charisma are all better than theirs, and she’s the Champ and they’re not. Paige comes out to interrupt and says why wait until Sunday, let’s see these women do what they do best. Paige says Carmella is best at talking, so she should go sit at the commentary table, while Charlotte and Becky will take on Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville in a tag match.

Charlotte & Becky Lynch vs. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville: Charlotte starts off strong against Sonya and lays into her with a series of chops. Becky tags in and continues the offense on Sonya. A distraction from Mandy leads to Sonya connecting with a body kick to Charlotte. Mandy tags in and they stomp a mud hole in Charlotte in the corner. Sonya tags back in to continue the offense on Flair. Mandy tags in without Charlotte noticing and hits a running knee to her face. Becky and Sonya get the tags, and Sonya takes control with a series of strikes. Mandy tags in and Becky fights her off with a series of clotheslines and a spinning heel kick. Becky hits a t-bone suplex, then Sonya runs in and Becky kicks her down. Becky applies the Disarm-her on Mandy shortly after for the win via submission.

The Brothers quickly clear the ring and hit the double powerbomb on one of their opponents. They follow the other two opponents out to ringside and put the boots to them. The Brothers slam two of the jobbers together, drop them on the floor, then Rowan slams Harper on top of them. Back in the ring, the Brothers hit the powerbomb Doomsday Device.

Kofi tees off on Eric with kicks, but he misses one and Eric sends him down to the ringside floor. Wolfe tags in and beats down Kofi at ringside before taking him back in the ring. Dain tags in now and works over Kofi on the mat. Kofi tries to get a tag, but Dain shuts him down with a dropkick. Dain follows up with a fisherman’s suplex, then Wolfe tags in and hits a shot off the top. Dain comes back in but Kofi stuns him with a DDT and tags in Woods. Woods hits a tornado DDT and pins, but Eric Young comes flying off the top with an elbow to break it up. Young tags in now and fireman’s carries Woods onto Wolfe’s knees. Dain tags in and Woods fights back with chops to the chest, but Dain drops him with a cross body. Big E runs in to break it up, then he suplexes Eric Young. – Paige knocks on Samoa Joe’s locker room backstage and Joe answers the door. Paige asks Joe why he has refused to address the WWE Universe like AJ Styles is tonight. Paige says she doesn’t want Joe to ruin her SummerSlam main event by attacking AJ tonight, and she asks Joe to be professional. Joe says he’ll make a promise right now, that he’ll keep doing whatever he wants when he wants, and AJ and the WWE Universe will have to deal with the consequences, or he could stay backstage and watch on a monitor. Joe says he’ll enjoy this night, and he walks back in his locker room.

– Aiden English is in the ring with a mic. Aiden looks upset about costing Lana her match last week, and he starts singing about it. Rusev and Lana are shown backstage watching on a monitor. Aiden sings about letting down his friends, and he’s going to make Andrade pay tonight.

Aiden English vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas: Zelina Vega is at ringside in Andrade’s corner. Aiden starts off strong out of the gate, with a clothesline and a frogsplash off the top for a two count. Andrade stuns him with a back elbow and then drops him in the corner. Almas hits the running knees in the corner and then the hammerlock DDT for the three count after a very short match.

Winners: Andrade “Cien” Almas

– Zelina and Andrade cut a promo after the match trashing Lana, until Rusev and Lana come out to interrupt. Rusev comes out and says Andrade’s luck runs out this Sunday, and Zelina will learn why Lana is the best. Lana says together, they will crush Zelina and Andrade, because this year SummerSlam falls on Rusev Day.

– AJ Styles is backstage with Paige, and Paige is pleading with AJ to stay professional tonight and not jeopardize their SummerSlam main event. AJ says he made his wife a promise, and intends on keeping it, then he walks off.

– Jeff Hardy is backstage with his facepaint on and he’s staring into the camera. He’s getting ready to head to the gorilla position.

– We go to the third and final video package about The Miz and Daniel Bryan for the night, which reviews Daniel Bryan’s return to the ring and the lead-up to their SummerSlam match.

Nakamura looks for the Kinshasa, but Jeff ducks it and hits the Twist of Fate. Jeff runs up to the top rope and follows up with a Swanton Bomb on Nakamura. The camera cuts to the back and we see Randy Orton lurking behind a curtain near the stage staring at Jeff in the ring.

– The broadcast team runs down the SummerSlam card again and promotes the WWE Network.

– WWE Champion AJ Styles makes his way down to the ring next. The crowd chants his name as AJ gets on the mic and talks about being in the business for 20 years competing against the best talent around. AJ says the most important lesson he learned was after he won the WWE Championship. He says there is a lot of pressure on you when you win the WWE Championship. He says Joe knows how to hit his pressure points, and then talks about Joe attacking him from behind. AJ says Joe wanted him to lose his cool and he did. AJ talks about remaining focused and his wife asking him not to lose his cool again, and then Samoa Joe comes out to interrupt. Joe comes out to the stage and has a piece of paper in his hand. Joe says what AJ says is just not true, and he holds a letter in his hand from a member of the WWE Universe, and he thinks AJ should hear it. Joe reads the letter, which is from a fan saying Joe’s remarks about AJ and his family made him feel ill, because they were true. Joe continues reading from the “fan” letter, which says AJ seems like he’ll do anything to stay away from his family, and maybe he never wanted kids or a wife, and then Joe says the letter was written by “Wendy Styles.” Joe walks off as AJ looks confused and SmackDown goes off the air.

Sin Cara Suffers Injury

5

Another WWE Superstar has gone down with an injury. That star is Sin Cara.

On Monday, August 14, it was revealed by Mike Johnson of Pwinsider.com who reported that the SmackDown star mentioned on his Instagram Story that he has traveled to Birmingham, Alabama in order to see a doctor that indicates that he could be going under the knife in order to get surgery.

As of this writing, there’s no word yet on what the injury issue may be but he will be on the sidelines for a bit as a result.

Most recently, the company booked Cara to work with former NXT Champion Andrade “Cien” Almas in a feud on the blue brand that kicked off on the May 30th episode of SmackDown Live only to be blown off once the stars took to the ring to compete in a match that went down on the Extreme Rules Kickoff show on July 15 at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

He has not competed since that match and hasn’t been seen on WWE television. Once we have more information on his injury, we will pass that along. We hope Sin Cara has a speedy recovery as he battles his way back from this injury.

Seth Rollins Reacts To Dean Ambrose’s Return, Viewership For Season 4 Premiere Of Ballers

1

Seth Rollins Reacts

It didn’t take long for Seth Rollins to react to his former tag team partner and member of The Shield, Dean Ambrose, making his long-awaited return to WWE television on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Greensboro, NC at the Greensboro Coliseum on the USA Network.

In case you missed it, it was revealed on this show that Ambrose would be in the corner of Seth Rollins for his Intercontinental Title match against champion Dolph Ziggler, who will have Drew McIntyre in his corner, at SummerSlam this Sunday.

Before this return, Ambrose had been on the sidelines due to an injury since last December. Rollins wrote the following on his official Twitter account:

Alexa Bliss Says Match vs Ronda Rousey Could Main Event Summerslam

7

This Sunday when WWE presents Summerslam, there’s a chance Alexa Bliss vs Ronda Rousey will close the show. Rousey is arguably the company’s biggest star at the moment and an all-female Summerslam main event would be another “first” the company would be able to showcase.

Current Raw Women’s Champion, Alexa Bliss, recently spoke to the Mirror UK about the possibility of closing the show on Sunday.

“You have the five-time WWE Champion going up against a UFC Hall of Famer. Why not let it be the main event?” Bliss asked. “I do I believe that with the women’s evolution going the way it is, then why not? But if not, then it is still great that I get to have a match with Ronda, who is making her SummerSlam debut.”

Alexa Bliss vs Ronda Rousey – Summerslam 2018

Bliss has been complimentary of Rousey since her debut earlier this year.

“I watched her UFC career and I do think she is what she is called, ‘The Baddest Woman on the Planet’,” Bliss continued. “She is at the forefront of women’s sports in general, she is tough and awesome and I am looking forward to our match at SummerSlam.”

Main eventing Summerslam isn’t enough for Bliss, however. The Raw Women’s Champion said her ultimate goal is to headline the biggest event of the year.

“But for me, the ultimate goal is to main event WrestleMania. That is the big one and is on all of the women’s bucket lists. It really is and would be the epitome of what this evolution is. I am also just happy to help continuing to elevate the women’s evolution.”

Two Matches Set For Impact Bound For Glory (Spoilers)

1

Two matches have been revealed for the next pay-per-view event that Impact Wrestling will present, which is Bound for Glory. The promotion held TV tapings that took place on Monday, August 13th, 2018 at the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

At these tapings, it was revealed that OVE will take on the Lucha Brothers and Brian Cage in a six-man ‘oVe Rules’ match at this show. The challenge came after Lucha Brothers defeated Cult Of Lee. Later in the tapings, Cage confirmed that they accepted the challenge brought against them.

The main event for this event has also been revealed as in an opening segment, Impact Wrestling World Champion Austin Aries confirmed that he would defend the title against Johnny Impact.

As of this writing, there’s no word yet on if this match will have a stipulation due to an angle where Aries and Impact brawled until Aries, Killer Kross, and Moose attacked Impact with a chair.

Impact Wrestling will hold their Bound for Glory pay-per-view event on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at the Melrose Ballroom in New York City, New York. This is considered the biggest event of the year for the promotion.

The event will air on traditional PPV outlets and the FITE TV app. The promotion will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming months.

Chris Jericho Denies He Will Only Wrestle For WWE In The US

3

There is more evidence building that Chris Jericho plans to wrestle for a promotion other than WWE in the United States. Jericho has famously stated in the past that he would not wrestle for a promotion in the country other than WWE out of loyalty to Vince McMahon.

Despite this, rumors are circulating that Jericho could end up in Impact Wrestling or wrestling on the G1 Supercard in Madison Square Garden next year.

Jericho recently corrected a fan on Twitter who said he would only work for a company in the United States if he has Vince McMahon’s blessing.

Chris Jericho Impact Wrestling

“While nobody will say anything,” wrote Dave Meltzer in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter. “There is a lot of belief within the business than Jericho is destined to be here (Impact Wrestling) and the not wanting to do anything that would get Vince mad doctrine isn’t nearly as strong as it was months ago.”

Impact Wrestling’s Petey Williams, also commented on the possibility of Jericho coming to the promotion recently. He said he wouldn’t be shocked if Jericho shows up in Impact. Williams also said he has no direct knowledge on if he’ll be coming in, however.

Earlier this year, we spoke with Don Callis during an Impact Wrestling press conference to promote Slammiversary. I asked him about talent he’d like to bring in to the promotion. His answer suggested he’s looking to bring in the biggest names he can.

“There’s a young Canadian kid I like, we’d love to sign him,” Callis said. “His name is Kenny Omega. Another is Chris Jericho.”

Tessa Blanchard is only 4 years into her professional career but has already won several championships.

Blanchard currently holds title belts for 6 independent promotions. She’s the current champion for Zelo Pro, Women Superstars Uncensored, the Crash, RISE, PWX, and PCW Ultra.

Impact Wrestling has recently revealed that Tessa has added arguably her most prestigious title to her resume recently.

Blanchard defeated Su Yung and Allie in a triple threat match Sunday at Rebel Nightclub in Toronto.

She phoned her parents, including step-father Magnum TA, after her victory.

If you’re unable to view the player above, you can view the clip here.

Tessa Blanchard Knockouts Champion

Just 3 days before she would win the title, we asked Blanchard what winning the championship would mean for her career.

“My main goal in Impact Wrestling is the Knockouts Championship,” Blanchard said with confidence. “I’m going to have my opportunity to claim that on Sunday against Allie and Su Yung.”

“That is the goal,” Blanchard said in reference to the Knockouts Championship. “Because having that championship means you are the best.”

“I’m confident I am the uncrowned champion because I am the best women’s wrestler in Impact Wrestling,” she continued.

Blanchard successfully defended the title against Yung last night in Toronto as well. She defeated the former champion with a hammerlock DDT.

There Was A Bat Flying Around Ringside At Monday’s RAW (Video)

7

Ronda Rousey was understandably freaked out when she spotted a bat flying around ringside during Monday’s RAW from Greensboro, North Carolina.

Rousey kicked off the show to pay tribute to Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, who had passed away earlier in the day. After introducing Ember Moon, she was interrupted by RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and Alicia Fox. The heels came to ringside with a crew of four security guards. A scuffle ensued and Rousey made short work of the security guards.

While Rousey was standing at ringside during the Bliss vs. Moon match, a spotted a bat flying around the ringside area. Rousey was understandably freaked out and could be seen mouthing, “Oh my god” at the sight of the flying chiroptera. The match ended in a disqualification victory for Ember Moon after Alicia Fox interfered on behalf of Alexa Bliss. Rousey gave Fox a judo throw and cleared the ring to end the segment.

Ronda Rousey challenge Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Championship this Sunday at WWE SummerSlam.

Twitter user Malcolm Van Dalsem uploaded this video of Ronda Rousey reacting to the bat:

15

WWE 2K19 will hit stores this October and when it does fans will have the ability to relive Daniel Bryan’s career. Showcase mode will return to the video game series after being left out of last year’s version.

To help commemorate the return of Showcase Mode to the WWE2K series, Bryan made a surprise appearance at his old high school today.

Bryan’s story is one of the most unique in wrestling history. WWE 2K19 released the following trailer for Daniel Bryan’s Showcase mode earlier today:

Daniel Bryan WWE2K19 Showcase Mode

The mode features 11 historic matches from Bryan’s career. Already confirmed for the mode is his 2003 match on Velocity against John Cena. This likely means a 2003 version of Daniel Bryan will be created for the game (and likely Cena as well). This would resemble the Bryan Danielson of Ring of Honor more than his modern look today would.

Renee Young Reveals Advice Vince McMahon Fed Her During RAW

11

Renee Young made history on Monday night by becoming the first woman to do commentary for a full episode of RAW.

WWE cameras caught up with Renee backstage after the show to discuss her big night. WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is known for being a very hands-on producer of his commentators. Former announcers such as Mick Foley, JBL and Taz have spoken about Vince being “in their ear” throughout broadcasts. Renee revealed that Vince actually gave her a lot of freedom, but did provide one piece of advice in her headset.

“Yeah, [Vince] told me to slow down on a couple spots but that was it,” she said. “And, geez, if that’s the only note that I get from him tonight, hallelujah, I’ll take it.”

Renee joked that Vince was ‘kind of letting her get away with’ a few things on the mic.

In addition to her Raw commentary debut, it was also a big night for Renee due to her husband Dean Ambrose’s return to WWE. Renee said she had goosebumps for Ambrose’s return, because she knows first-hand what he went through during his recovery.

“Seeing his recovery and all of the obstacles he had to go through to get back in the ring, I had goosebumps the entire time,” she said. “It was so exciting.”

Former WWE Writers and Performers Comment On Shaking Randy Orton’s Hand

32

Randy Orton is said to have a unique way of introducing himself to new members of WWE’s creative team. Former WWE writer and current MLW Owner, Court Bauer, detailed Orton’s unique introduction practice on an episode of his podcast.

“For every new writer that would show up, he comes in the room puts his hand down his pants, pulls out his d*ck, touches himself, then says ‘I’m Randy Orton, shake my hand…oh you don’t want to shake my hand? Are you big leaguing me? That’s f**ked up man. Should I tell Vince and Steph you won’t shake Randy Orton’s hand?”

https://twitter.com/courtbauer/status/1028032487765803008?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1028032487765803008&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fs46315.p1736.sites.pressdns.com%2Frandy-orton-sexual-misconduct-wwe-statement%2F

Since then several others have offered their insight into the matter. WWE has released a statement that they are looking into the matter.

Former WWE Writers and Performers Discuss Shaking Randy Orton’s Hand

Former WWE writer, Freddie Prinze Jr. was asked if ever shook Orton’s hand. He offered up the following in response:

https://twitter.com/RealFPJr/status/1029146538885312514

Former WWE writer Kevin Eck shared his thoughts on Orton in an article for the Sporting News.

“I don’t have any comment on the recent stories about Orton’s backstage behavior,” Eck wrote before then offering a comment. “Other than to say that I always avoided shaking hands with him during my time on the WWE creative team.”

Former WWE Superstar, Ken Kennedy (Anderson), also commented on Orton’s during a previous shoot interview.

“I remember my boots were sitting there and he kept dipping his c*ck into my boot,” Anderson said. “I was like, ‘What are you doing?’ ”

“He used to do stuff like this and we’d be riding in the car and I’d be like, ‘Randy, there’s no one else around to find that funny.’”

4 Great Jim Neidhart Matches to Watch on the WWE Network

1

Wrestling legend Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart passed away on Monday morning. He was 63 years old and he leaves behind an incredible legacy as part of the Hart Foundation.

To honor the talented and charismatic powerhouse, we’ve put together a list of his best matches. SEScoops writers Brad Davis, Damon Martin, Ian Carey and Jeff Moss have each picked a match that you can watch on the WWE Network. Here they are in chronological order:

Hart Foundation and Danny Davis vs. The British Bulldogs and Tito Santana (WrestleMania 3)

hfwm3

Damon Martin: The Hart Foundation’s feud with the British Bulldogs was one of the greatest tag team rivalries in WWE history when they started having a series of matches around 1986 and 1987. The two teams ended up in a six-man tag match at WrestleMania III with the Hart Foundation as one of the biggest heel factions to ever compete in WWE. Teaming up with ‘evil’ referee Danny Davis was just a stroke of genius and putting them over that night only made the fans hate them that much more. The heat from the crowd in Detroit that night was legendary and the Hart Foundation revelled in every second of it.

The Hart Foundation vs The Brainbusters (SummerSlam 1989)

Hart Foundation at SummerSlam 1989

Jeff Moss: In 1989 the Hart Foundation was on the rise and at the second Summerslam, the pair faced off against Tag Team Champs Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard, aka The Brain Busters. In the storyline, the match was signed before the Brain Busters became champs, so the titles weren’t on the line. That said, to be able to watch a young, all-pink Hart Foundation face off against two of the Four Horsemen is an absolute treat. The workrate and finesse in this match is amazing and the pure strength and toughness that Neidhart and Anderson bring to the table completed the perfect ying to the yang. An underrated classic in this reporter’s opinion, and not just because it features some of my favourite wrestlers of all time. And Tully.

The Hart Foundation vs. WWF Tag Team Champions Demolition – Best of 3 Falls (SummerSlam 1990)

Hart Foundation at SummerSlam 1990

Brad Davis: The things you loved as a child will always have special meaning to you. The late 80’s and early 90’s are considered by many to be a golden era of WWF. The British Bulldogs were a little before my time, so Bret and Anvil were to me the pinnacle of a complimentary tag team. Technical excellence matched with brute force. Calculated execution and unhinged madness. The odds were stacked against the Foundation in this match, which made the dramatic victory that much sweeter. Demolition had recently introduced Crush as a third member, leading fans (and the Hart Foundation) to wonder if the babyfaces would get a fair shake. They didn’t – but it didn’t matter. The Legion of Doom, new to the World Wrestling Federation at the time, stormed to ringside late in the third fall to even the odds. The finish, with Jim Neidhart delivering a shoulder block to Crush and Bret Hart getting the roll-up pin, is pure magic. Neidhart laying over Bret after their win, unleashing his signature laugh, is a moment I’ll never forget. RIP, Anvil.

The Hart Foundation vs. Team USA (In Your House Canadian Stampede, 1997)

Hart Foundation at IYH Canadian Stampde

Ian Carey: Canadian Stampede in 1997 was the ultimate event if you were a Canadian wrestling fan at the time. It was the Hart Foundation (Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Jim Neidhart, Davey Boy Smith and Brian Pillman) vs Team USA (Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ken Shamrock, Goldust and The Legion of Doom)  with the WWE fanbase being divided against each other based on geography. It was the Olympics meets wrestling and it was awesome. Jim Neidhart was not Canadian, but that didn’t matter. His association with the Hart family was all that mattered. Following the match that night, Nattie Neidhart, TJ Wilson, Harry Smith, and Teddy Hart all celebrated in the ring with the elder generation. More than any Hall of Fame induction could do, this match and PPV celebrated all that the Harts have brought to wrestling.

Discussion: What are your favourite Neidhart matches?
