John Hennigan Comments On Rivalry With Reptile Tribe In Lucha Underground

0

Former Lucha Underground champion, Johnny Mundo (aka John Hennigan/Johnny Impact) is being hunted by Kobra Moon’s reptile tribe. The storyline is currently playing out on season 4 of Lucha Underground.

Mundo, who is the leader of the World Wide Underground on the show, recently took part in the promotion’s “Social Interview” series.

“Let me tell you something,” Mundo starts off his promo. “When reptiles ruled the Earth, the Earth kind of sucked. There was no tanning salons, no corvettes, no gyms, no Taya, no Slamtown”

“But Kobra Moon seems pretty damn proud of being the Queen of the serpents,” he continued. “More like Queen of a bunch of slimy d***bags.”

“Kobra Moon has got to be the dumbest luchador on the entire roster,” Mundo said. “We all know it was a really stupid move for the Reptile tribe to declare war on the World Wide Underground.”

“I promise you this,” he said before giving a line you could tell he was proud of. “Not since Homer Simpson on Whacking Day has there ever been a man more hell-bent on reptile violence than Johnny Mundo.”

“Kobra Moon, you may be Queen of the Reptiles, but I’m the mayor of Slamtown and I’m tired of these m*****ing snakes in this m*******ing temple!” Johnny Mundo

Johnny Mundo in Lucha Underground Season 4

After losing the Lucha Underground championship late in Season 3, Mundo now appears to be moving into a feud with Kobra Moon and her Reptile Tribe. Ricky Mandel appears to have a mysterious backstory in this season as well. The newest World Wide Underground member has been speaking with a charred doll as of late. This has been creeping out the other members of the faction.

Lucha Underground airs Wednesday nights at 8 PM on the El Rey Network. Fans without access to the station can also purchase the shows through iTunes.

Rusev Explains The Greatest Royal Rumble Incident

2

Hearing the truth from the horse’s mouth always give light to the situation. Rusev gives his side of the story of what happened for the match against Undertaker at the Greatest Royal Rumble.

Bury Me Softly…

With news of the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia that took place last April, one of the many matches on the card included Rusev vs Undertaker in a casket match.

Rusev took it upon himself to tweet the following:

Speculation ran wild and WWE officials felt it was a disrespect to the deadman himself.  WWE even went as far as to pull Rusev from the card and replace him with Chris Jericho.

Rusev would later be put back on the card to face Undertaker and would lose to the deadman in the casket match.

The Ride Along Truth

In a recent episode of Ride Along on the WWE Network, Rusev explains the whole predicament:

It seems that not only did Rusev produce a disrespectable tweet, he laughed in the Chairman’s face once he learned about the news.

The prince of Saudi Arabia wasn’t going to have it, so he insisted that Rusev be reinserted in the match and thus we got Undertaker’s second win of 2018.

Alexa Bliss Comments On Stipulation For Match At Extreme Rules

2

At Extreme Rules on July 15th, 2018, Alexa Bliss will defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Nia Jax. Last night on Raw, it was announced that the match between Bliss and Jax will be an Extreme Rules match.

Renee Young caught up with Bliss backstage to get her comments on the news.

“I’m fine, I’m happy it’s an extreme rules match,” Bliss said. “You being nervous, because I can tell your nervous and it’s really throwing me off.”

Not long after the show ended, Bliss Tweeted out the following:

“I have turned every single opportunity into a championship. EVERY SINGLE ONE! I hope everyone enjoys this long, wonderful #MomentOfBliss…because it’ll only continue after #ExtremeRules.”

Rousey has been counting down the days until her suspension is over and she can get her hands on little Miss Bliss.

Alexa Bliss vs Nia Jax – Extreme Rules 2018

Also announced last night on Raw, Ronda Rousey will be front row for the match between Bliss and Jax. Raw General Manager, Kurt Angle, suspended Rousey for 30 days from Raw but evidently, Rousey will be in attendance in Pittsburgh on July 15th. This was revealed recently via a WWE.com interview given by Rousey.

Nia Jax and Alexa Bliss have wrestled each other on television 5 times previously.  Bliss won the first match by DQ, Jax won the next 3, and then Bliss technically defeated Jax at Money in the Bank after cashing in her newly won briefcase.

Bliss is the most successful Raw women’s champion of all-time. She’s held the title for 351 combined days across 3 reigns. That’s over 100 days longer than the next person on the list, Charlotte Flair. Jax’s one reign with the title lasted 70 days, the shortest in the title’s lineage. Only 5 people (Bayley, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax, and Alexa Bliss) have ever held the championship.

What do you think of the Alexa Bliss/Nia Jax/Ronda Rousey angle? Let us know in the comments section below.

It’s worth mentioning here that a steel cage match between these two stars is being advertised locally for the upcoming Extreme Rules PPV and after tonight’s show, it appears that the company is building towards it as well.

Conflicting Reports On Saturday Night’s Main Event, Matt Hardy Wants To Delete The B Team

3

Conflicting Reports On Saturday Night’s Main Event

It was reported yesterday that WWE could be reviving Saturday Night’s Main Event as part of their new Television deals and the airing of the show will be split between NBC and Fox.

However, during the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer denied these reports and said that while it’s still possible; the people on both WWE and Fox’s side have said that the story is not true.

Continuing on the topic, Meltzer claimed that he was told there won’t be any ‘added wrestling programming’ in the new deal.

He went on to say that the rumors about NXT airing on FS1 were untrue as well and while it makes sense, his sources told him that it’s not happening.

Matt Hardy Wants To Delete The B Team

Bray Wyatt was absent from this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw due to a car accident. It forced Matt Hardy to face Curtis Axel in a one on one match without his partner being at ringside while Bo Dallas was in the corner for Axel.

The match saw Axel scoring another pinfall victory over his opponent after Dallas distracted Matt and Curtis was able to hit him with a facebuster for the win.

After the show, Hardy gave a backstage interview where he talked about the absence of his partner and claimed that at Extreme Rules, the B Team will see the darkness of Deletion:

Update On Ronda Rousey’s Schedule, Natalya On Bret Hart’s Birthday

3

Update On Ronda Rousey’s Schedule

Ronda Rousey’s schedule has been changing constantly ever since the General Manager Kurt Angle decided to suspend the former UFC Star for her actions at Raw 2 weeks ago.

At one point she was pulled but then added again to the July 16th episode of Monday Night Raw. However, she has again been removed from the episode and is not being advertised for either July 9th or July 16th episode of the Red Branded Show now.

Though it’s worth mentioning here that Rousey is still expected to appear on Live Events from July 6th to 8th and if we believe the Raw Star then she will be present at the upcoming Extreme Rules PPV on July 15th as well.

Natalya On Bret Hart’s Birthday

July 2nd was the birthday of former World Champion Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart and on the occasion, WWE posted a video featuring Natalya.

In the video, the former SmackDown Women’s Champion recalled the things her uncle Bret has done for her and remembered how he was at ringside for her match against Charlotte at NXT Takeover in 2014.

She also talked about how much it meant to her that the former Champion showed up for her bout at Payback 2016 despite the fact that he was going through a rough time.

In the end, the female star wished Bret Hart the best birthday ever from everyone in WWE. You can check out her comments in the video below:

10 Takeaways From WWE RAW (7/2)

10

The July 2nd, 2018 episode of WWE RAW aired live from the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Here are 10 takeaways from this week’s show:

Rollins Rescued Reigns

rollins reigns raw 7 2

Roman Reigns came down to the ring and discussed losing to The Revival last week on RAW. Roman called Lashley the worst tag team partner of all time and doesn’t understand why RAW GM Kurt Angle wants them to team up again tonight. Reigns added that he doesn’t like “Bob” because Bob thinks he is “the guy”. Roman poked fun at Lashley and said that he couldn’t handle that role 10 years ago and he still cannot handle it now.

Reigns said that he is the guy and that this is his yard. Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre interrupted and Dolph called Reigns and egomaniac. Ziggler boasted about being the new Intercontinental Champion and then the two got into the ring with Reigns. McIntyre scolded Roman for sticking his nose in their business last week when they were beating down Rollins.

Reigns punched McIntyre in the face but quickly got beat down by both Ziggler and McIntyre. Seth Rollins rushed the ring and launched McIntyre to the outside. Rollins started attacking Ziggler but McIntyre dragged him out of the ring. McIntyre and Ziggler then retreated as Reigns and Rollins stood tall in the ring.

Rollins and Reigns approached RAW GM Kurt Angle backstage and asked for a match against McIntyre & Ziggler. Angle said that he would make the match next week but that wasn’t good enough for Reigns. Roman wanted the match tonight even though he was scheduled to team up with Lashley against The Revival again. Angle caved and made the match official for tonight but Roman will still have to team up with Lashley against The Revival tonight as well.

Later on RAW, Lashley confronted Roman backstage and said that nobody likes Roman. Lashley told Roman to check his huge ego at the door and focus on their match tonight. Reigns told Lashley to shut up, stand on the apron, flash his phony smile and collect the victory. Roman vowed to start and finish the match himself. Lashley got pissed off and threatened Reigns before walking away.

Curtis Axel Defeated Matt Hardy Again

axel raw 7 2

The B-Team once again impersonated Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy in a pre-taped promo. Curtis Axel then faced Matt Hardy for the second week in a row on tonight’s episode of RAW. Axel defeated Hardy last week on RAW by falling on him off of the top rope. Hardy called the victory a fluke and wanted a rematch. Hardy & Wyatt will defend their RAW Tag Team Championships against Axel & Dallas at Extreme Rules in less than two weeks.

Hardy controlled the beginning of the match and went for the Twist of Fate but Axel rolled escaped out of the ring as RAW went to a commercial break. When RAW returned, Axel connected with a Dropkick that knocked Hardy to the canvas. Axel posed in the ring before booting Matt in the face in the corner of the ring.

Axel hit Hardy with a Backbreaker for a two count. Hardy battled back and planted Axel with a Side Effect on the ring apron. Hardy then bounced Axel’s face off of each turnbuckle and followed it up with another Side Effect for a two count. Matt hit an Elbow Drop off the second rope for another near fall.

Hardy geared up for the Twist of Fate but Bo Dallas hopped up on the ring apron to distract Hardy. Axel slammed Hardy into the ring post and then connected with a Neckbreaker for the pinfall victory. Bo and Curtis then celebrated in the corner of the ring and then danced their way up the entrance ramp.

Dr. Shelby Returned

dr shelby bayley banks

Bayley attacked Sasha Banks last week on RAW. Kurt Angle demanded that both Sasha Banks and Bayley attend counseling following the attack. Bayley and Sasha argued before the meeting and Dr. Shelby broke them up.

Shelby said that he was going to guide them through their friendship counseling together and invited them into the “friend zone”. Dr. Shelby showed them some flashcards with words like “respect” and “honesty” written on them.

Dr. Shelby asked Sasha how she thinks Bayley feels in a game of “Honesty Theater”. Sasha Banks then had to pretend to be Bayley and Dr. Shelby asked how she felt. Banks imitated Bayley by calling her a pushover and that she likes hugs.

Bayley then imitated Banks by saying that she is going to stab anyone in the back because I’m the legit boss and that her mailman’s cousin is Snoop Dogg. Bayley and Banks started arguing and Dr. Shelby shouted “enough!”.

Opinion: The crowd erupted last week when Bayley finally attacked Sasha Banks. WWE managed to ruin that momentum in one week with this absolutely brutal counseling segment. Apparently, it is going to continue next week too leading into Extreme Rules. Sasha Banks and Bayley should be trying to beat the hell out of each other every week on RAW, not poking fun at each other. Dr. Shelby is a funny character but this material was so bad that nobody would have been able to save it.

The Authors Of Pain Dominated Titus Worldwide

Authors of Pain RAW 7 2

The Authors of Pain battled Titus O’Neill and Apollo Crews tonight on RAW. Rezar and Titus started off the match. Titus connected with a shoulder tackle that sent Rezar stumbling to the corner. Crews tagged in Rezar quickly brought him to the corner and tagged in Akam.

Crews connected with a Dropkick but Akam shrugged it off and tagged in Rezar. Rezar slammed Crews to the mat and then threw him across the ring for a two count.

Akam tagged in and teamed up with Rezar for a Powerbomb/Neckbreaker. Akam went for the cover but Titus broke it up.

AOP launched Titus out into the ring post and then Rezar tagged back in. AOP then hit the Last Chapter on Crews and Rezar covered him for the pinfall victory.

The Revival Attacked Roman Reigns

the revival raw 7 2

Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns teamed up to battle Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler tonight on RAW. Ziggler and Rollins started off the match and locked up in the middle of the ring. Ziggler rolled up Rollins but Seth was able to kick out at two. Rollins connected with a Dropkick and Ziggler quickly tagged out.

McIntyre and Rollins then locked up in the middle of the ring. Drew got the upper hand and planted Rollins with a shoulder tackle. Rollins ducked under a Clothesline and made his way to the corner. Reigns asked to be tagged in and Seth obliged.

Reigns and McIntyre circled each other and Drew started trash talking. Dueling “lets go Roman!” and “Roman sucks!” chants broke out as McIntyre powered Reigns to the corner. McIntyre beat the hell out of Roman in the corner but Reigns shrugged it off and unloaded with a flurry of punches to McIntyre’s midsection.

Roman went for the Samoan Drop but McIntyre escaped. Reigns got distracted by Ziggler and McIntyre capitalized with a headbutt. Lashley was shown watching the backstage as McIntyre tagged Dolph Ziggler back into the match. Dolph connected with a Superkick for a two count.

McIntyre quickly tagged back in and connected with a Neckbreaker for a two count. Dolph tagged in and bounced Roman’s face off the top turnbuckle. Ziggler shouted at Rollins on the apron and turned around into a massive right hand from Roman Reigns.

Rollins tagged in and planted Ziggler with a Slingblade. Seth then hit McIntyre with a Suicide Dive as Reigns hit Ziggler with a Drive-By on the opposite side of the ring. Back in the ring, Rollins connected with a Frog Splash on Ziggler off the top rope. Rollins went for the cover but McIntyre broke it up.

Seth catapulted Dolph out of the ring and made his way to the top rope. Rollins connected with a Crossbody onto Ziggler and McIntyre as RAW went to a commercial break. When RAW returned, Ziggler had Rollins trapped in a Sleeper Hold in the middle of the ring.

McIntyre tagged back in and hit Rollins with a chop to the chest. Seth battled back with a couple of chops of his own and then threw Drew out of the ring. Rollins dove across the ring to try to tag in Roman but McIntyre dragged Reigns off the apron.

Dolph got back into the match and threw Rollins to the outside. Seth launched Ziggler into the barricade and got then got back into the ring. McIntyre threw Ziggler into the ring and tagged himself in. Rollins hit McIntyre with a Superkick and then connected with a Buckle Bomb on Ziggler. Seth started crawling across the ring to make a tag but The Revival emerged from the crowd.

Dash and Dawson attacked Reigns as McIntyre and Ziggler beat down Seth Rollins. The Revival launched Reigns into the steel steps and then into the ring. Ziggler and McIntyre took out Rollins with the Claymore/ Zig Zag as The Revival continued their attack on Reigns. Dash and Dawson planted Reigns with the Shatter Machine before exiting the ring. The Revival will battle Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley later tonight.

Finn Balor Refused To Apologize To Constable Corbin

finn balor raw 7 2

Constable Corbin came down to the ring to discuss what went down last week when he teamed up with Finn Balor. Corbin and Balor wound up losing to Owens and Strowman via count out because they were fighting on the entrance ramp. Corbin claimed that he brought Balor out of the ring to discuss strategy and that Finn attacked Corbin.

Corbin invited Balor down to the ring so that he can admit that he was wrong and to apologize. Balor came down to the ring and Corbin apologized that he forgot that he was bigger and tougher than Balor. Finn then jokingly apologized for making fun of Corbin’s vest.

Baron gave Finn another chance to apologize and Balor said Corbin was right about deserving an apology. Balor joked that Corbin deserved an apology from whoever gave him his haircut. Corbin got in Balor’s face and told him to “suck up his pride” and give him the respect he deserves by apologizing.

Finn said that Corbin stopped deserving any respect the day he became Stephanie McMahon’s stooge. Corbin hit Balor with a cheap shot but Balor battled back with a Slingblade. Balor followed it up with a Dropkick and knocked Corbin out of the ring. Finn climbed to the top rope but Corbin retreated up the entrance ramp.

Ember Moon Defeated Liv Morgan

ember moon raw 7 2

Ember Moon faced Liv Morgan tonight on RAW. Sarah Logan accompanied Morgan down to the ring. Morgan started off the match in control and applied a Headlock to Moon. Ember broke free and planted Morgan with an Arm Drag for a two count.

Morgan connected with a big right hand and then went back to the Headlock. Ember once again broke free and connected with a springboard Crossbody for a near fall as RAW went to a commercial break.

Liv Morgan was back in control when RAW returned. Ember briefly got Morgan in an Ankle Lock but Morgan broke free and connected with an Enziguri for a two count. Liv hit several forearms to the face in a row and then shouted that Ember was nothing. Moon blasted Morgan in the midsection and then followed it up with the Eclipse for the pinfall victory. Sarah Logan tried to attack Moon after the match but Ember was able to escape just in time.

Roman Reigns Refused To Tag Lashley

Lashley RAW 7 2

Roman Reigns and Lashley battled The Revival in the third hour of this week’s episode of RAW. Reigns controlled the match early and refused to tag in Lashley. Dash and Dawson battled back and Wilder hit Reigns with a Dropkick. Dash Wilder stomped on Reigns several times before tagging Dawson in.

Dawson drove his elbow into Reigns’ midsection a few times and then applied a Chin Lock. Wilder tagged in and continued the beat down as Lashley rolled his eyes on the ring apron. Roman finally battled back and took out Wilder with a Clothesline for a two count.

Lashley got into the ring and planted Dawson with a Spinebuster before getting back on the ring apron. Lashley begged for a tag and Reigns refused. Roman geared up in the corner but Dawson grabbed his foot. The Revival then attacked Reigns in the corner of the ring and the referee disqualified them. Lashley walked away as The Revival hit Reigns with another Shatter Machine. Wilder followed it up with a Splash off the top rope as Lashley went backstage.

It was then announced that Bobby Lashley will face Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules. Lashley was interviewed later on the show and said that the only reason that Reigns is “the guy” is because he hasn’t been here for the past 10 years. Lashley added that if he were here, Reigns’ yard would be nothing more than a “concrete patch in a trailer park”.

Opinion: I’m surprised Kurt Angle just didn’t send Lashley and Reigns to counseling. I guess there is always next week to do that or put them in another pointless match against The Revival. Personally, I find it impossible to look forward to a match between Reigns and Lashley. An interesting storyline would have helped but we certainly aren’t getting that here.

Nia Jax Picked Up Some Momentum Heading Into Extreme Rules

nia jax raw 7 2

Mickie James battled Nia Jax tonight on RAW. Alexa Bliss accompanied Mickie to the ring. Before the match, Nia Jax cut a promo and said that she thought she was finished with Bliss at WrestleMania but she was wrong. She boasted about squashing Bliss like a bug at Backlash. Jax announced that the RAW Women’s Championship match at the PPV will be an Extreme Rules match and Ronda Rousey will be sitting ringside. Natalya then came down to the ring to even the odds for the match.

Mickie attacked Nia from behind to start off the match as Alexa cheered her on. Jax quickly battled back and hurled Mickie across the ring. Nia knocked Mickie to the mat with a shoulder tackle and then Mickie rolled out of the ring. Jax followed her and caught her on the ring apron. Nia lifted Mickie onto her shoulders but Alexa dragged her off as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Mickie James was in control and was targetting Nia’s legs. Mickie unloaded a series of kicks to Nia’s leg outside the ring and hoped to win via a count out. Jax got back into the ring in time but Mickie remained on the attack. Mickie connected with a Dropkick to Nia’s knee and then slammed it on the ring apron.

Jax battled back with a Clothesline and then lifted Mickie up for a Powerbomb. Mickie escaped and booted Nia in the knee. Mickie went for the Mick Kick but Jax caught her and planted her with a Powerbomb. Alexa hopped up on the ring apron but Natalya tripped her and Bliss fell face-first onto the apron. Jax then connected with the Samoan Drop on Mickie for the pinfall victory.

Strowman Shoved Owens Off The Stage While He Was Trapped Inside Of A Portable Toilet

owens porta potty

Kevin Owens suggested that RAW GM Kurt Angle fire or suspend Braun Strowman for flipping his cover over last week. Angle decided to put Owens in a match against Strowman instead. Owens spent the night trying to get out of the match but was unsuccessful. Owens was interviewed backstage right before the match and claimed that he was thrilled to face Strowman. He then found some tranquility with Jinder Mahal before the match.

Braun threw Owens across the ring to start things off. Owens rolled out of the ring and then ran away as Strowman stood in the ring. Owens was counted out and Braun Strowman sprinted backstage. Owens was shown trying to get into his car but couldn’t find his keys.

Owens then hid in a porta-potty next to the car. Strowman arrived and started looking around. Braun was about to head back into the arena but noticed the porta potty. Braun knocked on the door and said “anybody in there” in a woman’s voice. Braun grabbed some tape and taped the door shut. Braun then dragged the portable toilet to the entrance ramp.

Strowman then smiled and shoved the porta-potty off the entrance ramp as the crowd chanted “holy sh*t!”. Braun was then announced as the winner of the match.

I guess this was a fitting way to end a crappy episode of RAW. What did you think of this week’s show? Let us know in the comments below.

NXT Champion Backstage At Raw

3

NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler was backstage at this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw from Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

Her presence appeared to be a casual visit from the hometown star, that was until the company decided to acknowledge it officially and posted a backstage interview with her.

In the interview, she was asked about the reason for her surprise visit to Raw but the Champion decided that she doesn’t need to explain herself to anybody:

” Maybe I’m scoping out some different competition. Maybe I have a friend that can’t be here for 30 days and needs eyes. The point is I’m NXT women’s champion and I don’t need to explain myself to you or anybody.”

This sudden appearance from Baszler is destined to start some speculations and after the interview, the big question is if this is the start of a new storyline, leading to her main roster debut?

Though we’re still short on details so it’s hard to say anything for sure and we’ll have to follow the WWE programming closely in upcoming weeks to know anything for certain. You can check out her interview in the video below:

Shinsuke Nakamura Talks Desire To Wrestle Daniel Bryan, Being Comfortable As Heel

2

Shinsuke Nakamura is in the middle of his first heel turn under the WWE banner.

The former WWE Title contender recently spoke with Asbury Park Press to promote his appearance at iPlay America in Freehold on July 7. In this interview, he was asked about his transition from babyface to heel, which started during his program with WWE Champion AJ Styles in May.

Nakamura noted that he is feeling better than before due to the fact that his character came from the heel stuff as he played a heel while he was in Japan. He pointed out that all of his created moves were when he was a heel and that when he uses the stomp to the face and then the vibration, it’s him teasing his opponent.

“So now also a lot of people (are) asking me, ‘So how do you act in the ring like crazy?’ but I think I don’t act, I just adjust. A human being has a lot of sides, like a kind of diversity, so it’s like a good side, a bad side, a crazy side, a normal side, like a man-ish side, a woman-ish side. I just pick, I adjust.”

You can add Nakamura’s name to the long list of WWE stars who want to wrestle former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan following the news a few months ago that he had been cleared to compete in a WWE ring once again.

Nakamura mentioned that wanting to wrestle Bryan was one of the reasons he decided to sign with the sports entertainment company.

“But now, I’ve got like a high possibility to wrestle with Daniel at like the biggest stage in wrestling history. So I’m so excited.”

Bray Wyatt Comments On Head-On Car Accident

1

Bray Wyatt has made his first comments since being involved in a head-on car accident.

We noted earlier on the site that WWE announced through a statement on their official website on Monday afternoon that the RAW Tag Team Champion was in a car accident last Friday. As a result, he has sustained multiple injuries.

It was noted that Wyatt was traveling to the airport for this past weekend’s live events when he was in a head-on collision that left his car totaled.

Wyatt told TMZ that he smashed into another vehicle when riding to the airport. He noted that he was in good spirits and was moving around. The former WWE Champion added that “I’m gonna live through it because I can’t die.”

Wyatt is slated to team up with Matt Hardy to defense the RAW Tag Team Titles against Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel at the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view event Sunday, July 15, 2018 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the PPG Paints Arena on the WWE Network.

DeAngelo Williams To Make His Impact Wrestling Return

1

Retired NFL running back DeAngelo Williams is making a return to Impact Wrestling.

Impact Wrestling made the news official after TMZ Sports ran a story about it. He will appear on the July 12th episode of Impact Wrestling on Pop TV in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

As of this writing, the promotion didn’t elaborate on the plans for Williams when he arrives. They did tease that DeAngelo had been training extensively with Moose as he gets ready for his upcoming World Title match against Austin Aries in the main event of the upcoming Slammiversary pay-per-view event.

This show is slated to take place on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto, Canada.

If you recall, Williams teamed with Moose to defeat Chris Adonis and Eli Drake at Slammiversary XV in July 2017.

Ruby Riott Suffers Injury At WWE Live Event

4

WWE has announced that Ruby Riott is injured.

On Monday evening, the sports entertainment company made it public that Riott suffered a knee injury while working a WWE live event over the weekend.

As of this writing, there are not a ton of details on how she suffered the injury or how bad it is. WWE.com did note that she was scheduled for an MRI today (July 2nd).

It should be noted that she last competed in a WWE ring back on June 29 in Rapid City, North Dakota at a live event when she worked with Dana Brooke. We wish Riott a speedy recovery.

WWE RAW Results & Live Discussion (7/2)

117

The July 2nd, 2018 edition of WWE RAW aired live from the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

– This week’s broadcast opens up with a video package recapping the history between Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns.

Jimmy Havoc Announced for ROH International Cup

0

Ring of Honor has announced that UK star Jimmy Havoc will be taking part in the upcoming International Cup as part of the Honor ReUnited tour of the United Kingdom in August.

Havoc is a former CZW Tournament of Death winner, the longest reigning Champion in PROGRESS Wrestling history and has performed on a consistent basis for the top promotions in the UK including DEFIANT, Rev Pro, XWA:UK, IPW:UK, ICW Fight Club: Pro and the aforementioned PROGRESS.

The tournament is being billed as “United States vs United Kingdom” and ROH issued the following press release for the announcement of Havoc:

“One of the most sadistic and masochistic wrestlers in the world makes his Ring of Honor debut in Edinburgh as part of Ring of Honor’s Inaugural International Cup! Jimmy Havoc has held championships from all around the globe, including the Progress Championship and CZW Tournament of Death 2016, and is the first competitor announced for the inaugural ROH International Cup! Havoc thrives against more physical and violent wrestlers like Masada and Matt Tremont but is known for his victories against Pete Dunne, Tommy End, Will Ospreay, and Matt Riddle! Havoc is most dangerous not because of the violence he can deliver but because of his ability to wrestle his own match within the confines of the rules of the bout.

Havoc has one of the premiere reputations on the independent scene and enters the tournament as not only its first entrant but also its favorite. Havoc will face an American star to be named in the coming weeks as part of the first round in Edinburgh, with the winners of the first four matches of the International Cup meeting in the semifinals in Doncaster, and the winners of the two semifinal matches meeting in the finals in Doncaster. The inaugural winner of the International Cup will face whomever the Ring of Honor World Champion may be on Sunday August 19 in London!

Steve Austin Talks His Favorite Rising WWE Stars, Vince McMahon

3

Steve Austin has opened up on some of his favorite rising Superstars as well as dealing with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

The WWE Hall of Famer recently appeared on Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia to talk about various topics. When asked about some of his favorite Superstars that are currently in the WWE, Austin noted that he always preaches that you need to learn how to work, but its intensity, it’s a mean streak as a heel or babyface, and its fire. He pointed out that he likes Ronda Rousey, Bayley, and Sasha Banks.

Ronda Rousey has that fire to no end, she has that intensity to no end. Bailey, this absolute sweetheart, I love Bayley. All of a sudden she shows this damn fire and this mean streak. Her and Sasha have such great chemistry and I love Sasha as a heel more. I love both those women.”

Throughout the years, Austin has always shown respect to Vince McMahon even though they may not see eye to eye on everything including creative. Austin discussed this in this interview and brought up the fact that since he was young, he was never afraid to ask a question.

He mentioned that he and Vince got to be very very good friends but that Vince is a very intimidating person when you first walk in there to talk.

“Like I told him, my response to him was, “Vince, you got guys here 6’10, 7 feet tall, 300 to 330 pounds,” I said, “I’m 6’2, 250, black trunks, black boots. If you take my personality, from me, I can’t compete. If you give me my personality, I can compete with anyone you got.” And he says, “Okay Steve.” And then he stopped editing me and that’s when we starting flying.”

Austin added that wrestlers have to control their destiny and that you can’t have the mindset to sit back and say that creative has nothing for you.

Austin also talked about the story of how he came up with Austin 3:16, staying humble, why he didn’t want the ECW Championship in the beginning and more. You can listen to the entire podcast here.

Ric Flair To Undergo Surgery Next Week

6

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is slated to undergo surgery next week.

According to a recent report by Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, Flair will not be undergoing surgery to remove a colonoscopy bag despite that rumor going around but instead, he will undergo an ileostomy procedure.

His fiancé, Wendy Barlow, told Satin that the procedure has to be done after his health scare last summer. The wrestling legend is scheduled for surgery on July 9th with pre-op on July 6th.

According to the American Cancer Association, an ileostomy is defined as an opening in the belly (abdominal wall) that is made during surgery and that the lowest part of the small intestine is brought through this opening to form a stoma.

Thus, a colonoscopy bag applies to the large intestine and not the small intestine. The WWE Hall of Famer hopes to reverse the stoma so he’ll no longer be forced to drain the pouch.

We wish Flair a successful surgery and speedy recovery.
