Jeff Jarrett Comments on Global Force Wrestling Status

14

32-year veteran, Jeff Jarrett, will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this weekend. Jarrett isn’t closing the door on his wrestling career just because he is entering the Hall of Fame, however. He still plans on getting his Global Force Wrestling promotion off the ground.

Last year, Jarrett was briefly named President of Impact Wrestling and the company was ready to re-brand as GFW. Backstage problems and a stay in rehab led to Jarrett being dismissed from Impact just months later, however.

Jeff Jarrett on Current Status of Global Force Wrestling

Jarrett took part in an interview with the Sporting News recently and confirmed GFW is still alive.

When asked about GFW’s future, here is what Jarrett had to say:

“Our industry has extreme growth potential international and Global Force is working on two specific projects. One very big, the other is still pretty big. When you look around the world and, through my TNA days and ever dating back a few years before that, the international scene is only going to get bigger. There’s no doubt in my mind it’s got such growth opportunity. Internationally is where I’m going, where Global Force is going, and I think that’s where the industry is going.”

8 Takeaways From WWE RAW (4/2)

25

The April 2nd, 2018 episode of WWE RAW aired live from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA. It was the final episode of RAW before WrestleMania 34 this Sunday. Here are 8 takeaways from this week’s RAW:

Stephanie McMahon Slammed Ronda Rousey Through A Table

stephanie slams rousey through table

This week’s episode of RAW kicked off with Jonathan Coachman in the ring surrounded by a table with four seats. Coachman introduced RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon first and she came down to the ring to a chorus of boos.

Triple H came down to the ring to his “King of Kings” theme. RAW GM Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey then came down to the ring. Angle and Rousey shook hands with fans in the crowd before entering the ring. The crowd chanted “Ronda Rousey!” as everyone took a seat in the ring.

Coach stated that the WWE Universe has submitted questions and he was about to ask one but Triple H interrupted. Triple H said that the deafening “Ronda Rousey” chants will become silence at WrestleMania 34 because of Kurt Angle. Triple H noted Angle’s three I’s and added that he never got the “intelligence” thing with Angle. Triple H claimed that Angle set Rousey up for an embarrassment and a loss at WrestleMania. He then asked Angle why he did this?

Ronda asked Triple H and Stephanie why they would be so two-faced to sign her with an ulterior motive. Stephanie interrupted and poked fun at Rousey not knowing the format and vowed that they will polish her up following her loss at WrestleMania. Rousey quickly said that she was aware of the format in a Q&A. Ronda added that she asked a question and wanted an answer.

Stephanie got defensive and said that they signed her because she was a huge star, despite her terrible attitude. Stephanie and Triple H claimed that Angle has already cost Rousey and WWE millions of dollars. Stephanie added that Kurt and Rousey work for her and that she doesn’t get to ask the questions. Stephanie asked Rousey “who the hell do you think you are?” and Angle chimed in with “she is Ronda freaking Rousey” and the crowd cheered. Angle looked at Stephanie and claimed that Rousey is going to make her tap out this Sunday.

Triple H chuckled and pondered why Angle was so confident in that. Triple H stated that Rousey’s accomplishments in UFC mean exactly nothing in WWE. Triple H noted that WWE is he and Stephanie’s entire life and added that he was so confident because Rousey has no idea what goes on in a WWE ring.

Coach finally asked the first question and it was how important was it for both teams to win at WrestleMania. Stephanie answered first and guaranteed a victory and stated that it was incredibly important to show the locker room that they will bite the head off the sanke if there is an uprising. Stephanie added by saying that everyone in the back will learn to respect authority.

Angle was asked how he felt about teaming up with Rousey. Kurt said that Rousey was the baddest woman on the planet and that she is going to prove it this Sunday. Coach asked for any final thoughts and Stephanie said that everything was all on Rousey. Stephanie said that her very first match in WWE is going to be a loss to her and poked fun at how Rousey has handled losses in the past. Stephanie also poked fun at Rousey’s jacket in her answer.

Ronda asked if Stephanie if she was left or right handed. Stephanie said that she was a righty and asked why Ronda asked that. Rousey responded that she was just wondering because she wants Stephanie to still be able to sign her checks after she rips one of her arms off. The crowd enjoyed that line and started chanting “yes!”.

Coach said that they needed to do a pre-match photo and asked for it to be classy and professional. Angle, Rousey, Triple H and Stephanie stood in front of the tables as photographers got into the ring. Triple H extended his hand and shook Angle’s hand. Stephanie extended her hand, but Rousey refused. Stephanie started trash talking and Ronda got in her face. Stephanie tried to step away but Rousey blocked her. Triple H blasted Angle in the back of the head with a microphone. Ronda grabbed Triple H by the neck, but Stephanie snuck up and slammed Rousey through one of the tables. Stephanie then shouted that Rousey wasn’t so tough and then posed with Triple H in the ring.

Opinion: I would have preferred Rousey to enter WrestleMania 34 without being slammed through a table before the event. Kurt Angle was the only one that screwed up one of his lines tonight. He referred to Ronda Rousey as “Ronda Rowdy”. I’m not expecting an incredible match this Sunday at WrestleMania 34 between these two teams. It should be a fun match and I’d be surprised if Ronda Rousey doesn’t get the last laugh on Sunday night.

Banks Fought Bayley Again & Absolution Capitalized

Bayley faced Sonya Deville tonight on RAW. Paige and Mandy Rose were ringside for the match. The trophy for the women’s Battle Royal this Sunday was also beside for the match. Bayley started out the match in control and planted Deville with a Crossbody.

Bayley took Sonya down to the mat and applied a Headlock. Deville battled to her feet and drove Bayley to the corner. Sonya connected with a couple of shoulders to the midsection but Bayley responded by bouncing Deville’s head off the top turnbuckle. Bayley connected with a rough looking Arm Drag for a two count.

Deville hung onto the bottom rope to buy herself some time and then planted Bayley with a boot to the face as RAW went to a commercial break. When RAW returned, Deville planted Bayley with a Spinebuster for a two count. Sonya followed it up with a running knee for two as Paige and Rose cheered her on.

Sonya beatdown Bayley in the corner for a bit, but Bayley battled back with a couple of jabs to the face. Bayley connected with two Clotheslines and then stomped on Sonya in the corner. Bayley scaled the turnbuckle and hit Deville with a Crossbody. Bayley followed it up with a running knee to the side of the head for a two count.

Deville rolled out of the ring and regrouped with the rest of Absolution. Bayley got out of the ring, but Deville hit her with a knee. Deville got back into the ring and Bayley hung her up on the second rope for two. Rose hopped up on the ring apron but Bayley knocked her back to the floor. Deville went for a roll-up but Bayley kicked out. Bayley then rolled up Deville for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Rose and Deville attacked Bayley. Sasha Banks sprinted to the ring and fought off Deville and Rose. Bayley threw Deville over the top rope as Bayley and Sasha stood in the ring. Banks demanded that Bayley raise her hand and the two started arguing. Bayley said that she didn’t need Sasha’s help. Banks grabbed Bayley by the face and Bayley didn’t like that. Bayley started beating down Banks, but Rose and Deville got back in the ring. Rose and Deville beatdown Bayley and Sasha before exiting the ring.

Seth Rollins Defeated Finn Balor In A Great Match

seth rollins finn balor raw 4 2

Finn Balor faced Seth Rollins tonight on RAW. Intercontinental Champion The Miz joined commentary for the match. The Miz will defend the IC Title against Rollins and Balor in a Triple Threat match this Sunday at WrestleMania 34.

Finn started off the match with a Wrist Lock on Rollins. Seth battled free and applied a Wrist Lock of his own. Balor quickly reversed it and battled with Rollins until the two Superstars had a stare down in the ring.

The Miz brought up his newborn daughter and said that she will motivate him this Sunday. The Miz added that he wanted to be the person that his daughter looks up to as Balor connected with an Arm Drag. RAW went to another break as Balor and Rollins had a standoff.

When RAW returned, Balor connected with a Dropkick as The Miz continued to explain how his life has changed since having a daughter. The Miz claimed that he was a new man and that having a child changed him. Rollins and Balor traded punches and then Seth launched Finn out of the ring.

Rollins exited the ring and chopped Balor across the chest. Seth slung Finn into the barricade as The Miz discussed his daughter pooping and peeing on him. The Miz called Monroe Sky the best baby in the world as Balor regained control of the match.

Finn booted Rollins the back for a two count. The Miz complimented Rollins and Balor and called them two of the best Superstars in WWE. Rollins slammed Balor’s face into the turnbuckle, but Rollins responded with a Blockbuster off the second rope for a two count.

Seth elbowed Finn in the face and applied a Chin Lock as WWE aired a video package of Nakamura versus Styles at WrestleMania 34. Finn escaped and planted Rollins with a Neckbreaker. Seth rolled out of the ring and connected with a boot to the face as Balor was on the apron for a two count.

Seth and Finn traded chops in the ring as the crowd chanted “woo!”. Balor knocked Seth to the mat for two. Balor went for the Slingbade, but Rollins countered into a Slingblade of his own and Finn rolled out of the ring. Seth connected with a Suicide Dive that drove Balor into the barricade as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Seth connected with a boot to the face for a two count as the crowd chanted “this is awesome!”. Balor connected with a kick of his own and climbed to the top rope. Rollins got back up and crotched Finn on the top turnbuckle. Seth joined him on the top rope but Balor quickly knocked him back down. Seth leaped back onto the turnbuckle and planted Balor with a Superplex. Rollins went for a roll-up but Balor kicked out at two.

Seth connected with a knee to the face for another two count as The Miz was pumped that the match was continuing. Rollins climbed to the top rope but Balor got his knees up. Finn went for a roll-up but Rollins kicked at the last second.

Seth went to Powerbomb Balor onto the barricade outside the ring but Finn countered into a Slingblade. Balor followed it up with a Dropkick that launched Seth into the barricade. Finn rolled Rollins back into the ring and started climbing to the top rope. Balor missed with the Coup de Grace and then Rollins missed with the Curb Stomp. Rollins then quickly hit Balor with the Curb Stomp after a roll-up attempt for the pinfall victory. After the match, The Miz hopped up on the announce table and raised the Intercontinental Championship.

Braun Strowman’s Tag Partner Wasn’t Revealed

brains strowman

RAW Tag Team Champions Sheamus & Cesaro made their way down to the ring. They claimed to not care who Braun Strowman’s tag team partner is at WrestleMania 34. They stated that Braun will have to tag in his partner during the match and they both will need to be on the same page. Sheamus & Cesaro added that Strowman and his partner will never be a real team and that they will never get the RAW Tag Team Championships.

Braun Strowman’s music hit and Braun marched to the entrance ramp with a microphone in his hand. The crowd chanted “get these hands” and Braun nodded along. Strowman admitted that he doesn’t play well with others, but management has made it clear that he has to have a partner to challenge for the tag titles.

Strowman said that he has a partner and that he didn’t appreciate what Sheamus and Cesaro were saying. Braun added that his tag partner will come down to the ring if he gets a match with either Sheamus and Cesaro. Sheamus accepted the deal and Strowman said that he will go get him and marched towards the back. Strowman warned Sheamus and Cesaro that he was a lot like him, just a little different.

Braun’s music hit once again and he came down the entrance ramp in a disguise. He then referred to himself as Braun’s brother “Brains” and entered the ring. Sheamus and Cesaro attacked Strowman but Braun fought them off. The Bar battle back, but once again Strowman beat them down. Sheamus and Cesaro got out of the ring as Strowman shouted “get these hands!”.

Later on RAW, Strowman ran into Curt Hawkins backstage. Hawkins wanted to be Strowman’s partner. Braun asked what Curt’s win/loss record was and Hawkins dodged the question. Strowman then launched Hawkins through a wall.

Opinion: Brains Strowman made an impressive debut tonight, but we will have to wait until WrestleMania 34 to find out who Braun’s tag partner is. I’m ready for a new team to be the champs on RAW. The Bar are a solid team that could use a fresh start on SmackDown following WrestleMania 34.

The Undertaker Didn’t Show Up

cena raw 4 2

John Cena came down to the ring and said that he was wrong. Cena noted that there has been no response from The Undertaker and he has taken that as a no. Cena said that he is going to WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans fired up as a fan.

Cena stated that Michael Cole suggested that he enter the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal or become Braun’s partner. John brought up all of his recent losses and claimed that if he entered one of those matches, he would be taking a spot from a WWE Superstar that has busted their ass and earned it.

John noted that he has a lot of stuff going on outside of WWE and that maybe this WrestleMania is a perfect time for a change. The crowd chanted “Undertaker!” as Cena stood patiently in the ring. He said that he doesn’t think that The Undertaker hears them and stated that he is damn proud to go to WrestleMania 34 as a fan. Cena put over the WrestleMania card and added that he was proud that Daniel Bryan is back where he belongs, in the ring at WrestleMania.

Cena added that he was proud to get to watch AJ Styles finally get the WrestleMania moment he deserves. John brought up Rusev Day, Elias and all of the women’s matches at WrestleMania and stated that he was proud to watch all of it. John then apologized about The Undertaker and said that he did everything he could to get him to come back.

John tried one more time to summon The Undertaker and got the Atlanta crowd riled up. The crowd cheered as loud as they could as Cena ran around in the ring while holding the microphone up in the air. John stopped in the middle of the ring and the crowd started chanting “Undertaker!”.

The Undertaker didn’t show up and the crowd started to boo. Cena stated that The Undertaker doesn’t have the decency to stand up and do a damn thing. John said that The Undertaker can ignore him all he wants, but he is a “dead man walking” the second he ignores all these people. Cena stated that it was obvious that The Undertaker left his hat in the ring, but it is clear to everyone that he also left his balls at home. The crowd chanted “Cena!” as John shrugged in the ring. John’s music hit as Cena exited the ring. Cena made his way up the entrance ramp and walked backstage.

Opinion: Cena has done a hell of a job selling this match by himself. I’m expecting The Undertaker to show up at WrestleMania and it is going to be awesome when he does.

Elias Destroyed Heath Slater

Elias RAW 4 2

Elias strummed his guitar in the ring and claimed that everyone will know Sunday night that WWE stands for “Walk With Elias”. Elias then started poking fun at Atlanta and called it a dump.

Elias noted that he has the greatest performance of a lifetime in store for WrestleMania 34. He then told the crowd to shut up and was immediately interrupted by Heath Slater. Rhyno accompanied Slater down to the ring while wearing a shit that read “I walk with Slater”.

The match started off with Elias beating down Slater in the corner. Elias leveled him with a Clothesline, but Slater was able to battle back with a knee to the face. Elias connected with a massive punch and followed it up with the Drift Away for the easy victory.

We will find out Sunday what Elias will be doing at WrestleMania 34. He has been rumored to be Braun Strowman’s partner, perform a song or two, or wind up in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Nia Jax Vowed To Squash Alexa Bliss Like A Bug At WrestleMania 34

nia jax raw 4 2

Alexa Bliss and Mickie James had a backstage promo during RAW. They poked fun at Nia’s weight and Alexa Bliss vowed to retain her RAW Women’s Championship. Later on RAW, Nia Jax had an exclusive interview regarding her true feelings about Alexa Bliss.

Nia sat down with Renee Young and admitted that Alexa Bliss’ comments brought her back to when she was a child. She has always been different, but has learned to accept it and be herself. Jax noted that she has been disappointed in herself recently because she trusted Alexa Bliss. Nia went over Alexa’s comments and admitted that they shattered her confidence.

Jax said that she looked in the mirror and told herself that she doesn’t need to take this sh**. Nia added that she is proud of herself and that Bliss represents everyone that has ever doubted her. Nia looked at the camera and said that Alexa was nothing but an insecure little girl and that she was going to squash Bliss like a bug at WrestleMania.

Alexa Bliss and Mickie James faced off against Dana Brooke and Asuka in a tag match. Dana Brooke and Alexa Bliss started off the match. Bliss chuckled with Mickie James before locking up with Dana. Brooke was in control for a moment but Bliss knocked her to the mat with a forearm to the back.

Mickie tagged in and continued the beatdown on Dana Brooke. Dana went for a roll-up but Mickie kicked out at one. The crowd chanted “we want Asuka!” as Mickie taunted them. Dana connected with a right hand and drove Mickie James to the corner. Mickie booted Dana in the face and then taunted Asuka in the corner.

Dana planted Mickie with a Body Slam and tried to flip onto Mickie but she was able to get her knees up as RAW went to a break. When RAW returned, Dana Brooke was still trapped in the ring. Mickie applied a Chin Lock as Dana screamed in pain. Dana broke free but was quickly knocked back to the canvas.

Bliss tagged in and slapped Dana in the face. Alexa hit a kick to the ribs and stomped on Dana’s head for a two count. Brooke finally battled back with a Suplex and tagged in Asuka. Mickie tagged in at the same time and Asuka dropped her with a Hip Attack. Asuka connected with a knee to the face and followed it up with a few kicks. Asuka knocked Bliss off the apron and Mickie rolled out of the ring. Asuka hit Mickie with a sliding kick off the apron and then brought Mickie back into the ring.

The crowd chanted “Asuka!” as Mickie connected with a kick to the face. Mickie posed and made her way up the turnbuckle. Mickie missed with a jump and Asuka quickly locked in the Asuka Lock in the middle of the ring for the submission victory.

After the match, Bliss and Mickie attacked Asuka and Dana Brooke. Nia Jax ran down to the ring and Mickie and Alexa tried to run away. Nia grabbed Alexa’s hair but Mickie fought her off. Alexa Bliss retreated up the entrance ramp as Nia planted Mickie with a Samoan Drop.

Brock Lesnar Survived Five Superman Punches

lesnar raw 4 2

Paul Heyman was shown backstage on the phone and was quickly interrupted by RAW GM Kurt Angle. Kurt stated that it was important for the main event to stay intact. Heyman told Angle not to worry and that they will save it for WrestleMania. Angle told Angle to not say anything to Reigns so that Roman doesn’t injure Brock before WrestleMania.

Heyman laughed in Angle’s face and said that they will take it under consideration. Later on the show, RAW GM Kurt Angle approached Roman Reigns. Angle pleaded with Reigns not to do anything to ruin the main event at WrestleMania 34.  Reigns said that if Heyman says one thing that pisses him off tonight, he will not just sit and let it happen. Angle approached Lesnar and Heyman just before the end of the show and once again asked them not to cause a scene. Heyman said that he was going to keep everything positive and then made his way to the ring with Lesnar.

The WWE locker room stood on the entrance ramp to prevent anything from going down tonight. Heyman said that Kurt Angle has no control and that Brock Lesnar has the control because he is the Universal Champion.

Heyman stated that they laughed at everyone in the audience after Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker to end his streak. Paul added that everyone thinks that it is Roman Reigns’ destiny to defeat Lesnar and capture the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 34. Heyman stated that you have to respect Roman’s “bad-assery”, but the truth is that Brock Lesnar will F5 Reigns and pin him at WrestleMania 34. Heyman claimed that wasn’t a prediction, it was a spoiler.

Paul said that if Roman Reigns were to become Universal Champion, this is the last time anyone will ever see Lesnar & Heyman on WWE RAW. A brief “yes!” chant broke out as Heyman continued. Heyman brought up people claiming that Lesnar doesn’t respect the WWE locker room and the fans is 100% true. Heyman claimed that Lesnar feels that there is not member of the WWE locker room that can hold his jock and that there is not one fan that can afford what he thinks it is worth to watch Brock Lesnar perform.

Heyman brought up Reigns’ family and added that Roman is going to face them and admit that he was conquered by Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. Heyman added that Roman Reigns is not the Big Dog against Brock Lesnar. Paul called Reigns “Brock Lesnar’s bitch” and tossed the microphone out of the ring.

Reigns’ music hit and Roman came down to the entrance ramp. The Superstars on the ramp got in his way to try and prevent him from coming down to the ring. Lesnar smirked and raised the title in the ring. Reigns said “all y’all full-time talent are going to stand out here and protect that part-time bastard”. The Superstars then cleared a path for Reigns to come down the ramp.

Roman marched to the ring as Heyman rolled out of it. Some of the crowd chanted “lets go Roman” as Reigns walked up the steps and got on the ring apron. Reigns got into the ring with Lesnar and the two circled each other. Brock hopped out of the ring and grabbed his Universal Championship. Brock laughed as Reigns stood tall in the ring.

Lesnar grabbed a steel chair and got back into the ring. Reigns didn’t back down and the two circled each other again. Roman connected with three Superman Punches and Lesnar grabbed the chair again. Reigns delivered a fourth Superman Punch and Lesnar crashed to the mat. Brock slowly made his way back to his feet with the steel chair. Roman hit Lesnar with a fifth Superman Punch and grabbed the Universal Championship. Roman raised the title over Lesnar and looked at the WrestleMania 34 sign. Lesnar got back up and planted Reigns with an F5. Heyman reminded Lesnar that the F5 put Reigns down. Lesnar smirked and hobbled his way up the entrance ramp as RAW went off the air.

Opinion: The silence in the crowd during this segment is all you need to know. The WrestleMania crowd will not react well when Roman Reigns most likely wins the Universal Championship. It is a main event that few wanted, but WWE insisted on trying to make it work. There are several matches that I’m looking forward to more than the Universal Championship match at WrestleMania 34.

What did you think of the final episode of RAW before WrestleMania? Let us know in the comments below.

WWE RAW Results & Live Discussion (4/2)

1,762

The April 2nd, 2018 edition of WWE RAW was the go-home episode for WrestleMania 34, and aired live from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA.

– RAW kicks off with Jonathan Coachman in the ring. He previews the Angle/Rousey vs. HHH/McMahon match, and then introduces Triple H and Stephanie McMahon to the ring. The ring is setup with Coach at a podium, and the two mixed tag teams have tables and chairs set out. Coach introduces RAW GM Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey next. They’re all seated at their tables now and Triple H starts saying they’re going to shut down all of Ronda Rousey’s new fans in the WWE Universe. Triple H says he knows Kurt is an Olympic gold medalist, and that he’s all about the three I’s, but he never thought Kurt had the “intelligence” in the three I’s. Stephanie then trashes Ronda and questions who the hell she thinks she is. Kurt says she’ll answer for Ronda, she’s Ronda freakin’ Rousey, a UFC Champion and Gold Medalist, and on Sunday she’s going to make Stephanie tap. Triple H and Stephanie says Ronda may have been a big shot in UFC, but they are going to shut down Ronda on Sunday and she, and everyone else, will learn to respect authority. Kurt says no matter what kind of ring Ronda is in, she’s the baddest woman on the planet. Stephanie says Ronda’s first match in WWE will be a loss to her, and the world knows that Ronda doesn’t handle losses well. Ronda asks which arm is Stephanie’s writing hand, because she’ll break Stephanie’s other arm so she can still write her checks. Coach thanks both sides, and tells the photographers to come in the ring, then asks the two teams to pose. The two teams face off. Kurt and Triple H shake hands, but Ronda doesn’t shake Stephanie’s hand. Kurt separates them, but then Triple H cheap shots Kurt from behind. Ronda grabs HHH by the throat, but then Stephanie grabs her from behind and slams her through the table. Stephanie and Triple H raise their hands in the air before leaving. Kurt helps Ronda up and they stare down Triple H and Stephanie as they walk to the back.

– Still to come: John Cena finds out if he’ll get a shot at the Undertaker at WrestleMania on Sunday.

– Bayley is in the back getting ready to come down to the ring.

Sonya Deville vs. Bayley: The rest of Absolution is at ringside for this one. Sonya hits a leg kick and Bayley backs off. Bayley comes back with a headlock takedown and then a running cross body. Sonya comes back with strikes, but Bayley shuts her down with a snake eyes in the corner and an elbow to the face. Bayley hits a cross body off the middle rope for a two count. Bayley and Sonya brawl on the mat until Sonya takes control with a series of knee strikes. Bayley fires up with elbows to the face then stomps a mud hole in her in the corner. Bayley goes up top and hits a flying cross body, then a running knee to the face. Sonya rolls outside and Bayley follows. They fight back up onto the apron where Bayley hits a shot to the face, but then Bayley gets distracted by Mandy on the apron. Sonya grabs Bayley from behind, but Bayley reverses and rolls up Sonya in a pin for the three count.

Winner: Bayley

– After the match, Mandy hits the ring and starts beating down Bayley with Sonya. Sasha Banks comes out for the save and they clear the ring. Sasha and Bayley start arguing and get in each other’s faces. Bayley and Sasha start throwing punches to the face now and Bayley tackles her. Mandy and Sonya hit the ring again and beat down both Bayley and Sasha. Mandy and Sonya leave Sasha and Bayley laying, then head backstage with Paige.

Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins: IC Champion The Miz comes out to the broadcast table to do commentary. The opening bell sounds and Rollins and Balor start trading arm holds. Rollins fires up and shoulder blocks Balor down. Balor hits an arm drag takedown and they stare each other down. They go back at it and Rollins throws Balor outside. They fight around ringside and brawl back into the ring.
Balor fights up and starts laying into Rollins with chops. They fight to the corner, and Balor grabs Rollins and hits an inverted DDT for a two count. Rollins fires up and throws Balor back out to ringside, then hits a suicide dive on Balor up against the fan barricade. Back in the ring, Rollins hits a superkck and drops Balor. They fight up to the corner and Rollins hits a superplex. Rollins goes to roll through, but Balor catches him in a small package pin for a two count. Rollins drops Balor again, then goes up top for a frogsplash, but Balor blocks it with his knees. They fight out to ringside again and Rollins looks for a powerbomb on the fan barricade, but Balor escapes and hits the Sling Blade. Balor dropkicks Rollins into the fan barricade. Back in the ring, Rollins starts fighting back and hits the Curb Stomp for the three count.

Winner: Seth Rollins

– We see a replay of the Angle/Rousey vs. HHH/Stephanie segment earlier in the night, and then a promo video for WrestleMania.

– Michael Cole introduces a video package looking at the Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar feud heading into WrestleMania on Sunday.

– Paul Heyman is in the back on his cell phone. Kurt Angle interrupts and says he needs to make sure their main event stays in tact. Heyman says alright, they’ll do it Kurt’s way, and Lesnar won’t cause any drama tonight — he’ll save his energy for WrestleMania. Kurt asks Heyman not to say anything that would antagonize Reigns to attack Lesnar. Heyman laughs, and Kurt tells Heyman to please keep it civil and not ad fuel to the fire.

– RAW Tag Champs The Bar come down to the ring and get on the mic. They cut a promo saying they’re not worried about Braun Strowman’s partner for Sunday, because they won’t be a real team and The Bar will beat them. Braun Strowman comes out to interrupt, and says he does have a partner. Cesaro demands to know who the partner is, and Strowman says he wants to fight one of them first. Sheamus seems to accept, and he’ll go get his opponent. Braun goes backstage, and he comes back out in a disguise saying that he’s Braun’s twin brother. Braun hits the ring and beats down The Bar. Sheamus comes back and hits a big boot to the face of Sheamus, and he starts beating on him with Cesaro. Braun fights them off again, and tells them to bring it, but The Bar retreats up the ramp. He tells Nikki Bella he’ll be home soon. Fans start chanting Undertaker’s name, and Cena says he hopes Taker hears them. He talks about how proud he is of the roster who made it to WrestleMania, including Daniel Bryan finally returning to the ring. Cena says it’s obvious Taker is ignoring him and ignoring the people. Cena says it’s obvious Taker has left his hat in the ring, and his balls at home. Cena plays to the crowd some more and gets the fans to chant Undertaker’s name before Cena leaves. Cena shakes his head in disappointment as he leaves.

– We get another replay of the opening segment of the show with Triple H, Kurt Angle, Ronda Rousey and Stephanie McMahon.

Angle asks Reigns to keep his cool tonight and not get into with Lesnar, because Angle needs his WrestleMania Universal Title match in tact. Jax says some of Bliss’ comments hurt her, but she doesn’t take s–t. She says she’s strong, confident, different, and big, but she loves who she is. Jax says Bliss is an insecure pathetic fly, and she’s going to squash her like the bug she is at WrestleMania.

Mickie James & Alexa Bliss vs. Asuka & Dana Brooke: Dana and Bliss start things off trading holds. Dana works over Alexa’s arm, but Bliss comes back with a shot to the face. Dana starts to come back, but Alexa hits a shot to the throat and tags in Mickie. Mickie and Dana brawl into the corner where Mickie boots her in the face. Mickie taunts Asuka from the apron and continues working on Dana in the corner. Mickie blocks a shot with her knees and takes back control of the match. Dana fires back with a knee to the body of Mickie, and Bliss tags in. Bliss continues working on Dana and connects with several kicks. Dana fights away, and Asuka and Mickie tag in at the same time. Asuka unloads with kicks and the running hip attack. Mickie retreats to the outside and Asuka boots her through the ropes. Back in the ring, Mickie answers with a superkick and pins for a two count. Some members of the RAW locker room are on the ramp with Kurt Angle to wait to do security in case Reigns comes out to start trouble. Heyman gets on the mic and mocks Angle for not having control. He introduces his client and talks about Lesnar beating Undertaker, and Reigns also beating Undertaker. Heyman admits Reigns deserves respect, but LEsnar will hit the F5 and win, and that’s the truth.

Heyman says if Lesnar does get hurt and lose, it will be the last time we see Lesnar and Heyman on RAW. Heyman says he’ll leave and Lesnar will go to UFC. Heyman continues talking up Lesnar and says Reigns must accept defeat on Sunday. Heyman says Reigns will have to go to his family on Sunday night and admit he got victimized by Lesnar, and that he’s just Lesnar’s b-tch. Reigns’ music hits and he comes down to the stage.

The Bar and Titus try to stop Reigns, but Reigns threatens them and they step to the side. Lesnar taunts Reigns, and Reigns starts walking to the ring. Some fans are chanting “lets go Roman now,” as Reigns steps up the ring steps.

Reigns and Lesnar shave a stare down, then Lesnar slides out of the ring and laughs. Lesnar gets a steel chair and goes in the ring, but Reigns hits him with the Superman punch first. Reigns hits two more Superman punches. Lesnar stumbles, and Reigns hits another Superman punch. Lesnar gets up to his feet again and Reigns hits a 5th Superman punch. Lesnar and Heyman retreat up the ramp as Reigns recovers in the ring and RAW goes off the air.

Johnny Gargano Isn’t Planning To Have Five Star Match With Tommaso Ciampa

6

WWE NXT Superstar Johnny Gargano has interesting expectations going into his next big match under the sports entertainment company’s banner.

The bad blood between former tag team partners, Tommaso Ciampa and Gargano, started last year.

After DIY failed to regain the title in a ladder match on May 20 at NXT TakeOver: Chicago, Ciampa turned on Gargano to end their partnership.

However, NXT officials had to wait on doing a feud between the two for several months as Ciampa was placed on the sidelines due to injury.

Now, Gargano will attempt to get his revenge on his former tag team partner at the upcoming NXT TakeOver: New Orleans special as they will compete in an “unsanctioned match” at the upcoming event.

“I still remember the Tommaso Ciampa that was my best friend, but he’s not that guy anymore. He’s a snake…I still don’t understand why. It’s something that has haunted me for 10 months. It’s something that I’ve thought about time and time again. I don’t think I’ll ever understand why. We were just coming off our first main event. We didn’t win, but I thought things were going pretty well. Obviously, I was wrong.”

Gargano added, “The match with Andrade Almas didn’t go my way, but to have a match like that and for it to be rated five stars, I’m extremely confident right now. It was unanimously praised, but this match will be completely different. I’m not going for five stars with this one.”

Kiera Hogan On Possibly Doing A Daughter Angle With Hulk Hogan

5

IMPACT Wrestling Knockout Kiera Hogan recently did an interview on Interactive Wrestling Radio to talk about several professional wrestling topics. Hogan was asked if she’d be opposed to doing a “daughter” angle with WWE Hall Of Famer Hulk Hogan, and also noted she has talked to Brooke Hogan about it:

“(laughs) I wouldn’t be opposed to it. I’ve actually had a conversation with Brooke Hogan about it. She got a hold of me and was like, ‘We should be sisters or something!’ I was like, ‘That would be so cool!’

“My real name is Kiera Hogan. That is my real real name. When I got into wrestling, I was like, ‘That works. I already am a Hogan!’

“But, I didn’t want to steal off what he (Hulk) was doing. I wanted to be my own Hogan. I want to be my own person. I want to be the ‘Girl on Fire’ and set myself apart from Hulkamania and all that other jazz.

“But, I definitely am not opposed to it. Of course, I was a fan. But, I definitely want to be able to do my own thing at the same time.”

Hogan then described how current WWE Superstar Mickie James has been a big influence in her career:

“Mickie James was my idol. She is my everything. But, definitely her story line with Trish Stratus was my absolute favorite. It drew me into wrestling. It was one of the best story lines, I think, ever. It was something so different for the women. I’m so in love with the theatrics of wrestling.

“Mickie James influenced my everything from everyday life to when I was in high school. I’ve been able to tell her this which is a plus for me and being able to be on the same card as her. She’s just amazing. I love her so much! (laughs).

“I met her when I was 16. I met her every year after that so she saw me grow in wrestling as I got further and further into my career. That weekend, I was able to be on that first SHIMMER with her and was able to really talk to her.

“She was just so proud of me. She’s almost like my second mother because I’m able to tell her, ‘Look, Mom! I’ve accomplished more!’ (laughs) She’s literally the most down to earth person ever. She’s such a sweetheart!”

Hogan is one of the shortest female wrestlers out there right now, standing at just 4’11. She feels her height is neither an advantage or disadvantage for her, but rather it’s neutral:

“I feel like it is neutral. It is not a benefit and it is not a defense. I feel like me being smaller, people think I’m not going to do as well as I usually do. I think I’m actually able to prove myself. Some people think I’m taller from my pictures. But, I’m only 4’11 and a half! (laughs) I don’t feel like it is a total disadvantage.”

Given today’s climate there’s never been a better time to be a female professional wrestler. Especially with the Women’s Revolution going on in the WWE. Hogan offered her thoughts on the evolution of women’s professional wrestling:

“I have a different view on it. I feel like people are just now starting to see the women on the main stage but on the independents, they’ve been doing it forever. I feel like at this time, maybe because they’re signing so many independent performers, now they’re starting to get noticed.

“But, it has been such a topic on the independents for such a long time and now it is starting to get so much attention because it is on the main stage. The independents don’t get enough credit.”

Adam Cole Talks Deciding To Sign With WWE, Competing At NXT TakeOver: New Orleans

3

Adam Cole was with Ring of Honor from 2009 – 2017. During his run with the company, he held the World Championship three times and World Television Championship one time. Over the last year, it was expected that Cole would sign with the sports entertainment company and it would have happened sooner had the WWE and Ring of Honor legal issues not taken place.

It was later announced that the former ROH World Heavyweight Champion had signed with WWE and would be featured on the NXT brand.

As a result of that signing, he made his debut at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III last August in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center. Instead of him just sitting in the crowd at the NXT special, WWE had much bigger plans for him.

As seen at the event, Cole beat down then-NXT Champion Drew McIntyre along with Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly after McIntyre’s big win over Bobby Roode. Ever since he has taken the WWE by storm.

Cole recently spoke with Brian Fritz of Sporting News to talk about various topics. During the interview, he was asked about joining the sports entertainment company.

“It’s been great. Just seeing on every level how precise and how much WWE is trying to accomplish. It’s constantly in full effect. Even the Performance Center, the way that whole thing operates. The way the NXT TV show operates. Then being at the Royal Rumble and seeing how that operated. There’s so many moving parts but they’re in complete control at all times and everyone is trying to make everything as good as possible. It’s amazing to see the level at which everybody is on and the actual size and scope of everything. At first, it was overwhelming and now, getting the chance to see how everything works, it’s cool to be a part of it.”

As of this writing, WWE is promoting Cole for two matches at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans this Saturday night at the Smoothie King Center on the WWE Network.

He’s slated to take part in the NXT North American Championship Ladder Match alongside EC3, Killian Dain, Ricochet, Velveteen Dream, and Lars Sullivan as well as NXT Tag Team Championship Match against Pete Dunne & Roderick Strong and The Authors of Pain.

“It will be interesting. First and foremost, I think the focus has been the Undisputed Era has the NXT Tag Team Championship so, of course, we have to focus on making sure we hang on to those but at the same token, the six-man ladder match for this new NXT North American Championship, that sounds pretty darn cool too. This new championship being introducer at TakeOver, you want to talk about having a history-making night, that would be amazing to be able to walk out as North American Champion, to be able to retain the NXT Tag Team Championships.

We say all the time we want to shock the system. I have no idea how we’re going to do this but we’re going to try our best to pull it off as best we can and just have the absolute best matches that we can. You want to talk about a high-pressure night — NXT TakeOver: New Orleans is going to be high pressure.”

Ex-Lucha Underground Star On What WWE Looks For In Talent

2

Ex-Lucha Underground and current CRASH talent Bestia 666 recently did an interview with The Roman Show to talk about several professional wrestling topics. Bestia first discussed former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio becoming a partial owner of Aro Lucha:

“It really surprised me. He is a humbled person and this will help the lucha libre industry especially for us luchadors like Mexicans and Hispanics to have a person like Rey Mysterio to focus on lucha libre.

“To have a person like him have control of a promotion like that is great knowing that he knows the business. It will help him economically, but others too. He always tries to help people. I think that is what he will do. He has said that he will help the talent. He’ll help us, the Latinos.”

Back in 2013 Bestia actually worked as an extra for WWE and visited the Performance Center. While he admits working in WWE is the dream, he’s not going to sit around waiting for them:

“I was there, but [the WWE Superstars] were in their zone. I just did what I had to do, but I did go to the Performance Center in 2013 and I continue to work hard. I am not waiting for the WWE, but of course that is the dream. I would lie to you if I said I didn’t want to be there.”

Bestia also offered some insight into what he thinks WWE is looking for in talent they want to sign:

“WWE looks for people from other countries that can communicate. I speak English too, even though I am talking to you in Spanish. I am used to the American style. In the meantime, I will prepare, train, and be ready.”

Edge & Christian Discuss Being Asked To Induct The Dudley Boyz Into WWE HOF

2

On a recent edition of the E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness, former WWE Tag Team Champs Edge and Christian discussed being asked to induct The Dudley Boyz into the 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame class.

Edge discussed the news breaking that he and Christian would be inducting Bubba Ray and D-Von, which was Bubba announcing it on Busted Open Radio. The pair also discussed getting the calls to be asked to induct The Dudley Boyz:

“Actually, the news broke by Bubba Ray Dudley on Busted Open Radio with me as the guest. I didn’t know he was going to do it.

“He got the pop himself and it has now been officially confirmed by WWE today as we’re recording this that we will be inducting The Dudley Boyz. Yeah!”

“We were very honored that they asked us to do it, and, obviously, we’ve talked about it many times in the past,” Christian added.

“All three teams will always be linked. If you think of the Dudleys, you think of Edge and Christian and The Hardy Boyz, and vice versa with all those other teams.

“We helped to put each other on the map and the feud with us and the Hardys really took off when those guys showed up.

“My phone rings immediately after [Edge’s phone rang] and it says, ‘Melbourne, Florida’,” Christian recalled. “And I’m like, ‘do we know anybody in Melbourne?’ I’m like, ‘your phone rang and then mine did.

“Should I answer it?’ and [Edge] is like, ‘yeah, yeah, you should answer it!’ So I answered it. It was D-Von. We had a nice conversation and he said he tried to call [Edge], so I said, ‘oh, I’ll pass him to you. He didn’t want to talk to you earlier.'”

John Cena Hypes Tonight’s RAW, Teases Return Of “The American Badass”

7

If The Undertaker is ever going to respond to John Cena’s WrestleMania 34 challenge, tonight’s the night to do it.

For the past several weeks The Leader Of The Cenation has attempted to lure The Deadman out and accept his challenge, however, Undertaker has remained radio silent on the matter.

Cena has verbally attacked Undertaker on the microphone week after week on RAW, and has even fired off a few shots at him on social media as well. He recently took to Twitter to promote tonight’s episode of RAW, continuing to use the hashtag #DoSomething:

Cena also referenced the rumors going around that Taker could return under his American Badass gimmick. With the fact that Kid Rock, who sang Undertaker’s American Badass theme back in the early 2000s, is going into the celebrity wing of the 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame this weekend – speculation has continued to run rampant.

With that being said, Cena decided to post an Instagram photo of some American Badass gear:

Paul Heyman Explains Why He’s Inducting Goldberg Into The WWE HOF

3

Former Universal Champion Goldberg will be inducted into the 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame class this weekend, the night before WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans. Inducting Goldberg would be none other than Paul Heyman, the advocate of the man Goldberg defeated at Survivor Series in 2016 and lost to at WrestleMania 33 – Brock Lesnar.

Some fans were scratching their heads wondering why Heyman was selected for the honors of inducting Goldberg into the Hall. The Advocate recently did an interview with Digital Spy to explain that Goldberg actually requested WWE for Heyman to induct him:

“I am inducting Goldberg because that was Bill Goldberg’s specific request to WWE. Bill Goldberg personally requested that I induct him into the Hall of Fame. I have such respect for Goldberg as so far the one person who has truly taken the fight to Brock Lesnar in WWE.

“I also got a chance to witness him behind the scenes as a man, a husband, a father and I have the utmost respect for him as a human being and am honored to be the one to encapsulate this moment for him and be the one to formally induct him into the Hall of Fame.”

Roman Reigns Reflects On His WrestleMania Match With The Undertaker

2

Roman Reigns was recently interviewed by CBS Sports to promote WrestleMania 34 this weekend, where he’ll challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship in what’s expected to be the night’s main event. Reigns was asked about his main event WrestleMania match last year, in which he became the second-ever man to defeat The Undertaker at The Showcase Of The Immortals.

Reigns said that he feels the match could’ve been better, and he mostly puts the blame on himself for it not living up to expectations:

“For me, what made it so hard was how heavy it was. You know, if I wrestled The Undertaker 20 years ago at the beginning or the middle of his career, probably not. But the positioning I found myself in, it just felt really heavy and so much more emotional than I was ready for it to be, so I think that was the hardest thing … but, you know, the coolest thing because I think that just shows the gravity of the situation, the responsibility of the placement [on the card] and just who I was sharing the ring with.

“And that’s just how special he is. I just feel like maybe I wasn’t good enough or maybe it could have been better on my behalf, but I always hold The Undertaker in so high in that regard that I just feel like maybe I could have done better. But I enjoyed it.

“I really learned a huge amount in the ring with him; you know, to being in the ring with him for one singles match and to have it be at that level, to be able to pick something up in just 30-40 minutes from another performer — it just goes to show how good he is.”

5

In a recent interview with WWE, Hart discussed which current Superstar he’d be interesting in managing.

“We gotta get you out of those blue jeans and out of those patent leather brown or black boots that you wear and that t-shirt. We gotta get you down to Memphis. Let me take you to Graceland, baby.”

Paul Heyman On Cody Rhodes’ Success Outside WWE, Parallels To Steve Austin

22

Paul Heyman will be ringside Sunday night for the main event of WrestleMania 34 when his client, Brock Lesnar, defends the WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns.

Later this week (Thursday, April 5th), Heyman’s one-man stage show, An Evening With Paul Heyman descends upon New Orleans as one of the weekend’s must-see events.

Heyman has been doing the media rounds to promote both shows and made some very interesting remarks to NBC Sports about Cody Rhodes’ meteoric rise. As a former manager and promoter of wrestling icon Steve Austin, Heyman explained that he sees a parallels between Austin’s success after leaving WCW in 1995 and the success of Cody Rhodes since leaving WWE in 2016.

When asked which WWE Superstars he think could thrive outside of the company like Cody has, Heyman said, “Cody reminds me a lot of when Steve Austin got out of WCW. In that Steve needed to find himself and when I put him on camera in Philadelphia at 5 o’clock in the morning, after a show, is when a truly pissed off, tired, aggravated Steve Austin found his inner persona that morphed into Stone Cold Steve Austin”

Heyman continued, “Cody has found himself in that very same way in that his angst over not being able to bring forward what he envisioned for himself in WWE has propelled him to new heights outside of WWE. He would have never found that within the company. Kudos to Cody for leaving and for sticking to his vision and to finding that box office appeal that has always lived inside of him.”

Heyman said there are certainly WWE performers who could do better working for other promotions, but a big part of peoples’ success is timing and how well they pitch themselves to management. As someone who is well known for recognizing talent and maximizing the value of talent, Heyman says sometimes it’s simply a matter of making the right pitch at the right time to the right person. It’s advice that translates to all aspects of professional life – people should be pitching,

“This is how the company can make more money with me.”

There’s much more wisdom to be found in this interview, which we strongly encourage you check out over at NBCSports.com.

Will Ospreay Sustains Injury During Sakura Genesis Bout, May Not Compete in New Orleans

SHEVOLUTION is a new brand of women’s wrestling shows, powered by EVE launching on Sunday June 10. It will have a seperate roster and Championship to EVE, with SHEVOLUTION more focussed on exciting, unseen in EVE, new, young and emerging talent on the wrestling scene around the country.

SHEVOLUTION will also be the platform where performers from EVE Academy will begin their careers when ready to debut. There will at times be guest appearances from EVE roster regulars in matches against the members of the SHEVOLUTION roster, however, they are guest appearances only and nobody classed as being on the EVE roster will be eligible to contend for the SHEVOLUTION Championship. There will be a mini draft with a few performers from EVE moving over to SHEVOLUTION. Where as EVE is an 18+ promotion, SHEVOLUTION will not have an age restriction.
