WWE RAW Results – August 10, 2015

878

WWE RAW Opener:

This week’s show, which takes place from Everett, Washington, kicks off with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins’ music hitting.

Rollins, by himself, makes his way down to the ring with a microphone. Rollins brags for a few minutes about “breaking the face of the man who runs the place,” before mocking John Cena with his own “You Can’t See Knee” gesture, relpacing “Me” with “Knee,” of course.

From there, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion goes on to mention that he would understand if Cena wanted to forefit his title vs. title “Winner Take All” match at the upcoming WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view on August 23rd. He does say, however, that if Cena doesn’t show up, then Rollins wins by default and adds the WWE United States Championship to his growing collection of gold belts.

Rollins then goes on to talk about a rumor he heard regarding Cena being scheduled to show up at this week’s edition of WWE Tough Enough, which airs tomorrow night on the USA Network. Rollins then mocks Cena for being “Tough Enough” to show up to the “Tough Enough” reality show, but points out his belief that Cena isn’t “Tough Enough” to face Seth Rollins.

As Rollins continues to ramble on at the mouth, finally, Cesaro interrupts him. “The King of Swing” makes his way to the ring with a mic talking about how Rollins goes “on and on and on and on and on” (he literally said it that many times, possibly more).

Cesaro enters the ring and talks about open challenges. Rollins says he never said anything about an open challenge and then asks Cesaro what he has ever done to earn a shot at his WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

From there, Kevin Owens’ music hits and he too makes his way down to the ring with a mic in hand. Owens brings up the fans, who he calls an idiot, for handing out thousands of “Cesaro Section” signs. He says that’s not enough to earn a title match.

Owens says he, on the other hand, has beaten John Cena. He says if anyone deserves a shot at the title, it’s him. The announcers then talk amongst themselves about who is the most deserving challenger to Rollins’ title.

Just when you thought enough people ran in for this RAW opening segment, out comes Randy Orton. “The Viper” makes his way to the ring with a mic in hand, making jokes, one-by-one, about each person standing in the ring. Orton basically demands a title shot like the others did as well.

Rollins goes on to claim that no one in the ring has the authority to determine who — if anyone — gets to challenge him for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

With that said, “King of Kings” plays and out comes Triple H. He makes a triple-threat match for tonight between Kevin Owens, Randy Orton and Cesaro, where the winner will be the man to earn the right to a WWE World Heavyweight Championship. On that note, we head to a commercial break.

Team B.A.D. vs. Team Bella

After the commercial break, we see that Paige, Becky Lynch and Charlotte have joined the gang on commentary for this six-Diva tag-team match, featuring all three members of Team B.A.D. — Sasha Banks, Naomi and Tamina, taking on all three members of Team Bella — Nikki Bella, Brie Bella and Alicia Fox.

Early on, the trio of Banks, Naomi and Tamina are having their way with Team Bella, taking turns dominating whomever the legal Diva in the match is.

Finally, Nikki Bella, the legal member of her team, starts to mount some offense, just as we head to a mid-match commercial break.

We’re back from the commercial and the first thing we see is Banks in control of Nikki in the ring. Finally, a big melee breaks loose with all of the Divas getting involved. When the smoke clears and the dust settles, Brie ducks a super kick attempt from Tamina and rolls her up. 1-2-3. Team Bella picks up the victory.

Winners: Team Bella

Paige Talks About Ronda Rousey’s Influence On The Divas Revolution, Possible WrestleMania Appearance

5

2-time WWE Divas Champion Paige recently spoke with the The Sun about Ronda Rousey’s influence on the Divas Revolution and the possibility of the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion returning to WrestleMania next April. Here are some highlights of what she said about:

Rousey’s Influence On The Divas Revolution: “That’s the way the world’s going right now, with the whole Ronda Rousey phenomenon — and I’m proud of her for saying what she did to Floyd Mayweather … She’s a great role model for all us women — and definitely, I feel like she’s a huge part of that [the Divas’ revolution] too.”

“Just her appearance at ‘Mania really helped as well, and her main eventing UFC and just becoming such a dominant force in the entertainment and sports worlds. Yeah, I think it all the time, she’s amazing. It’s her, it’s all her!”

Ronda Rousey At WrestleMania 32: “I hope [Ronda will be involved] too, but I have no idea. I have no idea. I’m just hoping I get a match on it! If Ronda makes an appearance and Dwayne makes an appearance, that’d be great. If Stephanie wrestles, who knows?”

Just last week, WWE COO Triple H commented on the buzz that Rousey could be a part of next year’s WrestleMania 32 from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. He said:

“There’s a lot of factors involved there. I think she loves what we do, we obviously are huge fans of hers. I think that the opportunity is there if she wants it to be.”

CM Punk Talks Possibly Returning To WWE After UFC Run, Thoughts On Hogan/Racism Controversy

0

The following are highlights of a brand new CM Punk interview:

On his reaction to the Hulk Hogan racism controversy:

“I don’t really have a comment on it. Like I said, though, stuff that you say can come back and bite you in the ass. Everybody gets what they deserve in the world. Hopefully he issued a sincere apology and we can all move on from it. We all have said stupid things, and I don’t think you should judge somebody on what they said a long time ago. But some of the stuff is harsher than other things. It is what it is.”

On WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan, who popularized Diego Sanchez’s “Yes!” chant to the WWE audience, supporting Punk’s MMA aspirations:

“I thought it was pretty cool. Everybody in WWE whether they admit it or not are big fans of the UFC. Like everything else, they are 10 years behind the curve on everything, but they are slowly warming up to MMA. Now it’s all Ronda Rousey. But a couple of years ago when I mentioned her they told me the sport was despicable. Everything they are doing now is something I told them five years ago. They live in a bubble. When you are on the road this much, you are “all in” and nothing else matters; I lived in a bubble. They built this empire and they are the best at what they do. But they still have no [bleeping] idea what goes on outside their bubble.”

Lucha Underground Q&A Recap With Chris DeJoseph

1

Lucha Underground writer Chris DeJoseph took part in a Q&A session over the weekend at The Wrestling Guy Store in Huntington Park, California. Here are some highlights from the event, courtesy of Reddit user butterflyinthesky:

– There are many ideas for other AAA wrestlers that have yet to make an LU appearance.

– DeJoseph had to fight for certain ideas because he wanted to get wrestling fans on-board, who would then tell others about the product. “El Rey was great to work with and trusted my team, and let us do our thing.”

– Originally, they had an entire LU season arc, separated into 3-4 cycles. However, Pentagon, Drago and Fenix were not able to be at the first night’s tapings. They had to hotshot Prince Puma and Johnny Mundo, who they wanted to save for later in the season. He is happy they didn’t do what they had as everything worked out.

– LU was originally shot by a cinematographer with boxing experience. Early on, it was difficult to get shots of their faces and emotion. Eventually, they all figured it out. The cameraman were very talented but were not used to shooting fast-paced lucha libre.

– DeJoseph called the Hernandez situation unfortunate given that many people were ultimately affected. He questioned why TNA didn’t do their due diligence to call about Hernandez’s contract.

– He noted that he loves the Wednesday night wars, as he loves competition. He also has friends working for all the competing shows. The shows are different and the more wrestling shows there are the better.

– When asked any wrestler that he had a say in hiring, DeJoseph was adamant about hiring Ricochet.

– At one point, Martin Casaus (Marty “The Moth” Martinez) was Mil Muertes. And Matt Cross was not the original Son of Havok.

– Ricochet recommended Shane Strickland (Killshot).

– He called John Morrison first after getting hired. They go way back to filming the dirt sheet segments with Miz.

– It helped credibility getting Chavo Guerrero because he was trusted and eventually getting El Patron was huge.

– DeJoseph reached out to Matt Striker 24 hours before LU’s first taping. He signed his contract right before walking out to announce.

– It was the coolest backstage environment he’s been a part of. Talent has a say and the writers made it a point to get that across to the talent. It’s a very different feel from WWE’s creative process. For example, Hernandez had the idea of fans as lumberjacks hitting you with belts.

– LU producer Eric Van Wagenen (who hired DeJoseph) picked out the warehouse in Boyle Heights because they wanted people in the neighborhood to hang out and come just walking in. * DeJoseph asked for them to reinforce Dario Cueto’s office roof. Others looked at him like he was crazy when he said eventually someone is going to jump off of it.

– Bonus WWE fun fact: Triple H was supposed to be the anonymous GM.

As WWE mentioned on last week’s RAW, Amell is scheduled to work this coming Monday night’s show, which takes place in Everett, Washington, despite the fact that WWE claimed RAW would be emanating from Seattle, Washington this coming week.

This weekend, Amell was actually spotted on camera, and got involved during the action that took part at the show, likely to set up the Amell/Stardust angle planned for Monday’s RAW in Everett, Washington.

Ronda Rousey’s Ex-Boyfriend Explains Why She Is A Hard Person To Date

0

Ever wondered what it’s like to date Ronda Rousey? Rousey’s ex, UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub, is speaking out about his time as Rousey’s boyfriend and it sounds like he wasn’t thrilled about how their romance went south.

During an appearance on Joe Rogan’s Fight Companion show on Saturday night, Schaub claims that Rousey is looking for a guy who is a pushover and will let her run the show. Straub said,

“I’m not the guy for the job. She needs a guy who’s gonna take a backseat.”

Being the world class athlete she is, it’s not entirely surprising that she’s a strong personality that takes charge, even in relationships. Schaub said that Rousey is surrounded by people who “yes” her non-stop and things broke down when he stood up for himself and had opinions that clashed with hers.

“She’s surrounded by people that worship her and go yes, yes … that’s a great idea.”

Schaub’s comments weren’t all negative. He said despite her incredible financial success, “she’s not materialistic at all. ”

Here’s video from the appearance, courtesy of TMZ.com:

Video: Fan Throws MITB Briefcase At Roman Reigns At WWE Live Event

The incident caused a major disturbance to the show, but the match continued.

The alleged perpetrator and his group got into a scuffle with security guards before they were removed from the building. Victoria police were also called to the arena.

Paige Responds To Scott Hall Saying He Wants To Give Her A Spanking

23

A tweet from Scott Hall has garnered a lot of negative attention on social media for the WWE Hall of Famer.

On Saturday, Paige acknowledged a GIF of herself seductively pinning Brie Bella early in her career in WWE.

https://twitter.com/BossOfTomorrow/status/630067045565100032

“Back when used to inappropriately touch the divas,” she remarked.

This led the WWE Hall of Famer, who is 56-years-old, to tweet Paige, “Such a naughty girl. I have a good mind to bend you over my knee and spank you.”

https://twitter.com/SCOTTHALLNWO/status/630078047643938816

Paige wasn’t offended like some people were, though. She wrote to Hall, “People are taking this way too seriously on Twitter. It’s obviously a joke. Plus. I like it ;) haha.”

https://twitter.com/RealPaigeWWE/status/630235258680508417

Hall then said he was joking.

WWE Debuting New NXT Diva At NXT Takeover: Brooklyn Special On 8/22?

As announced recently, The Vaudevillians (Aiden English and Simon Gotch) will be taking on Blake and Murphy for the NXT Tag-Team Championships at the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn event on Saturday, August 22, 2015, live on the WWE Network.

The last time the duo earned a title shot, their victory was spoiled by NXT Diva Alexa Bliss, and as a result, there is speculation that one of the new NXT Divas will make their TV debut at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn event to even the odds between the two teams and make things more fair.

WWE.com wrote the following teaser for the aforementioned tag-team match:

“NXT General Manager William Regal granted the old school duo a championship rematch at the Barclays Center on Aug. 22, but suggested that English & Gotch find a way to counteract Alexa Bliss this time around. Can The Vaudevillians neutralize the ever-present threat of Alexa Bliss, or will Blake & Murphy manage to walk out of Brooklyn with the NXT Tag Team Championship? Find out at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, live on WWE Network Saturday, Aug. 22 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT!”
