Overall NXT Impressions: “NXT Thursday night in Orlando was excellent. Great atmosphere at Full Sail University’s 500 seat arena .. The Developmental System is going to get MUCH bigger and better in the near future. I’m legit excited about where Talent Development is headed.”

Seth Rollins: “Impressed with NXT Champion Seth Rollins who wrestled Jinder Mahal in a title bout. Rollins continues to improve, raise his overall game and up his intensity.”

Picture of Seth Rollins With The NXT Championship Belt

Roman Reigns: Roman Reigns reminds me of a young, early day Rock. Same heritage, 6’4″-265, great presence. The kid has “it” and should be a star if he totally commits in doing so. Smart too with his Georgia Tech education.

Sarah Del Ray: “Sarah Del Ray doing an excellent job working/coaching the Divas. IMO I was the best in ring Divas bouts Thursday night as I’ve seen in WWe in a while. Layla, Alicia Fox, Paige and newcomer Sasha did well.”

New Pictures Of NXT Diva Paige – WWE’s “ANTI-DIVA”

Survivor Series Predictions: “I’ll be pleased to be home as I assume that Cole, Lawler, and JBL will handle the PPV broadcast. Should be an interesting show. Got a feeling some intriguing days lie ahead. Seems like the time is here to consider a reshuffling of the deck. Just my opinion. I expect CM Punk to retain the WWE Title, Team Ziggler to win their Elimination Tag and Big Show to squeak by Sheamus.”

WWE Releases Two More Developmental Wrestlers?, Kofi Kingston Facing Zack Ryder On Saturday Morning Slam

1

– The roster page of WWE’s official NXT website, FCWWrestling.info, no longer lists Chase Donovan or Nick Rogers. This is generally an indication that WWE has released talent.

Donovan is 27-year-old New England based wrestler the company signed earlier this year after moving to Florida to become a bodybuilder. He previously competed on the independent circuit from 2004 to 2009 as Bryce Andrews. He largely put over talent during his few appearances for NXT.

Rogers is a Canadian wrestler the company signed last year. Albeit undersized by WWE standards, he billed himself as a physical specimen. He had not been used in a high-profile manner as of late.

Chad Baxter and Louis Fontaine were also released from their developmental contracts with WWE this week.

– This morning’s episode of WWE Saturday Morning Slam will feature WWE Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Zack Ryder. Kofi remarked of the encounter on Twitter: “Tomorrow on #SaturdayMorningSlam: a friendly sparring session between me and Long Island Iced-Z @ZackRyder. Tune in! 10am on the CW #Vortexx.”

– WWE developmental wrestlers Anya, Audrey Rae, Charlotte, Paige, Sasha Banks and Summer Rae paid a visit to Dunbar Elementary School in Florida on Friday. The future Divas shared their success stories and answered questions.

Kofi Kingston Talks Survivor Series, Evan Bourne, Turning Heel, Orton Calling Him Stupid

1

Smacktalk Radio Live with Kofi Kingston
Hosts: James McDonald and Corey Callahan
Audio interview available at SmacktalkRadioLive.com.

Kofi on the Survivor Series elimination match: “Obviously with myself, I’ve had a rivalry pretty much (at some point in the past) with everyone who is on my team right now…The Miz, he and I have gone back and forth and pretty much hating each other for the past month and a half, so it really brings an interesting dynamic because no one really knows where the Miz’s mind is at right now…I can’t say that I trust him…I’ve never known him to be a good guy so I need to have my eyes peeled for the Miz specifically and then everyone on my team, but hopefully we can put our differences aside and come together and win this match because none of us want to lose to anyone on Team Ziggler.”

Kofi on Evan Bourne: “Yeah, Evan is doing alright, he has been doing some rehab for his ankle. For those who don’t know, he got into a pretty bad motorcycle accident and pretty much broke almost every bone in his foot…but he’s doing great and he has a real positive attitude…he’ll be back before we know it and doing what he does best and that’s fly around the ring and do all types of superhero/action figure-esque video game type moves…he should be back hopefully soon, not sure the exact timetable on it but yeah he’s doing great.”

On his Triple Threat match in early 2010 against Randy Orton and John Cena on Monday Night Raw where Randy was heard yelling ‘stupid’: “Everyone knows Randy kinda has an attitude, so that’s Randy being Randy. What everyone doesn’t remember is that we were in a heated rivalry so a lot of what you saw was him being his character and him kinda playing to that. I thought it was real funny when I started reading these things like ‘Randy Orton doesn’t like Kofi’, which I think is fine because it added to what we were doing at the time, it made people more interested in what we were doing…it is what it is….”

Here’s video of the spot Kofi’s talking about.. Apparently Kofi was supposed to stay down and get into position for a punt kick, but got up instead – and Orton nails him with a stiff-looking RKO:

http://youtu.be/N-kxxFjiD6s

On whether Kofi has ever wanted to turn on the WWE Universe and become a bad-guy: “To be honest, I’ve always been a guy who looks at everything with a pretty positive outlook. As far as going the other way, it really is up to the WWE Universe…As long as everyone is boom-clapping with me, I’ll stay with them because I appreciate the WWE Universe and I realize that without them there is no us, there is no me….I don’t want to say never, you never say never in the WWE…

“As far as me becoming a bad guy, the line is so blurred these days, not like back in the 80’s where you had Hulk Hogan come out and tell people to eat their vegetables and take their vitamins and he was a good guy, and then you had other guys come out and frown at the crowd and insult the crowd and automatically be bad guys….all of a sudden you had ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin do bad guy things and he was getting cheered where Bret Hart was doing everything right and all of a sudden he was getting booed. There is no clear-cut good-guy and bad-guy line these days, it really depends on the WWE Universe and how they start reacting to certain people. Specifically me, I guess we’ll have to wait and see.”

Booker T Offers His Thoughts On The Late Chris Benoit, Rene Dupree Resurfaces, Meet The Prime Time Players

0

– Speaking to Inside Wrestling, Booker T was asked for comment on the late Chris Benoit after working closely with him for a number of years. The SmackDown General Manager is asked how he separates Benoit’s wrestling accomplishments and friendship with him from the horrible event that occurred in 2007.

“I separate them because I have to,” said Booker. “You can’t put the two together. I think of the Chris I knew on the road and in Japan, eating the frickin’ noodles, traveling and working together for years. I can’t put those two people together because I really think the two were different people at the time. We’ll never know what happened, and that’s the thing: We don’t know. The brain is a fragile machine, because you can live with a person for 30 years and then they kill you one day.”

– After recently returning to North America, Rene Dupree competed in his first match in the United States since leaving WWE on Saturday in Rahway, New Jersey for Pro Wrestling Syndicate. He lost a Four-Way match, which also featured Dan Maff, Devon Moore and the winner, The Dynamic Sensation.

Dupree competed in Japan and Europe during his time away from North America. Though still muscular, he has since lost a considerable amount of weight.

– The Prime Time Players, Darren Young and Titus O’Neil, appear at Cricket Communications in Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday beginning at 4:00 p.m.

WWE Releases Expected, Cody MRI Update, Miz’s Babyface Push, Maryse

1

– Now that Linda McMahon’s US Senate campaign is over, there is some fear in WWE that the company will begin “future endeavoring” talent soon.

Rumored Survivor Series Match, Sasha Banks Debuts, NXT’s Anti-Diva Paige

9

– There is still a chance WWE will add another Team Elimination match to Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view. Prior to WWE changing the pre-show tag match to Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel vs. 3MB, there was talk of adding Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara, Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel vs. Primo, Epico, Darren Young and Titus O’Neal.

Since Gabriel & Kidd replaced Santino & Zack Ryder in the pre-show match, it’s possible that Team CoBro could replace them in the rumored elimination match.

– WWE NXT Diva Sasha Banks made her TV debut at last night’s tapings from Full Sail University, wrestling Paige. The former Mercedes KV tweeted:

Chavo Guerrero On Whether WWE Took Notice Of TNA, How Vince McMahon and Dixie Carter Compare, Time In WCW

0

Speaking to Wrestling101.com, Chavo Guerrero commented on whether people in WWE took notice of TNA Wrestling during his tenure with the sports-entertainment organization.

“At first it wasn’t, TNA was seen as just coming up in the business but then little by little they started to pick up more momentum and at this point in time I think TNA has the most momentum we have ever had,” said Guerrero. “If you look at our roster compared to anybodies, WWE’s, New Japan, Ring of Honor, I think we have the best roster in the world right now.”

Having worked for Eric Bischoff, Vince McMahon and Dixie Carter, Guerrero compared the three bosses in terms of their similarities and differences.

“First of all they are all great businessmen and women, they are at the head of companies because being a business person you have to be able to make those hard decisions and make good decisions, so that’s the similarities,” Guerrero said. “Differences, to me you have Vince McMahon who rules with fear, you better watch out or he’s going to cut your head off. Dixie Carter she rules with love and she is happy to have you on her roster and when you do well she lets you know about it. Eric Bischoff, he was kind of in the middle, sometimes he was very mean and wanted to bite your head off and other times you would go out for a beer with the guy.”

After only competing for two years, Chavo Guerrero received his first break with World Championship Wrestling in 1996. He recalls his time with the company.

“Wrestling in WCW was awesome because I was so young and it was a great mix of wrestlers. We had older wrestlers that had been around since my dads time like Arn Anderson and Paul Orndorff then we had the younger generation wrestlers which included guys like William Regal and Fit Finlay, then there were the likes of Eddie, Dean Malenko and Chris Benoit, and even younger guys like Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho,” said Guerrero.

“There was such a big mix of people that we really learned all different styles from all different eras. Every era of wrestling changes, it is always evolving, so we learnt so many different things and that’s what I took away with me the most from my time in WCW, it was just like going to school, I was at the Harvard for wrestling.”

Guerrero also recalls being part of the Cruiserweight division in WCW, the final episode of WCW Monday Nitro, joining WWE, winning the WWE Tag Team Championship with Eddie Guerrero, working alongside Vickie Guerrero, comparisons of WCW to TNA Wrestling, and more. The full interview is available here.

Lita Talks About Today’s Divas vs. Attitude Era Divas, AJ Lee & More

3

Former WWE Diva Amy “Lita” Dumas spoke to WWE.com this week to promote the new WWE ’13 video game. Here are some highlights of what she said about:

Her Favorite Attitude Era Moment:

“I could make a laundry list. I think the first thing for me that was definitely Attitude Era–based and my first really main storyline with WWE was with Eddie Guerrero & Chyna vs. myself & Essa Ríos. [I was] the first woman Chyna interacted with, and to be in there with them was great. They had their funny story going on, and you never knew what my story was with Essa Ríos, so that was one.”

I think also, when I had a run in with Triple H & Steve Austin when they were together as The Two-Man Power Trip. Looking back on that, I was just excited to be out there with Triple H and “Stone Cold.”

Today’s WWE Divas vs. Attitude Era Divas

“I think the women of The Attitude Era really did a good job at figuring out who they were and what they wanted to portray to the fans. So each woman was such an individual — you were never going to get Lita and Ivory confused. You’re not going to get the two confused, as opposed to now, is it the hot athletic girl with the short shorts on? No, it’s the other hot athletic girl with the short shorts on. It was about setting yourself apart.”

Which Current Diva Would Succeed In The Attitude Era & Who She Would Like To Wrestle:

“I think it’s interesting to see the Divas of today and to see who the fans are attaching to. Obviously, right now, it’s AJ Lee, who’s not the strongest; she’s not one of those classically hot chicks. But she sets herself apart, and you have emotion when she’s out there and you get a sense of who she is, and so I think that’s really cool to see the kid that wasn’t supposed to make it being the one that’s out there, and that’s who the fans want to know more about.”

Kurt Angle Says TNA Dropped The Ball On Two Wrestlers, Impact Post Show With Bobby Roode (Video)

0

– Promoting TNA Wrestling’s upcoming tour of the United Kingdom and British Boot Camp in an interview with The Sun, Kurt Angle feels the company has underutilized Doug Williams and Magnus.

“I think that TNA as a whole might have dropped the ball a little bit with Doug Williams and Magnus, when you look at the talent they have,” said Angle. “They are starting to use Magnus and I believe they have big plans for him. But the reason I thought they might have dropped the ball is because he was so young when he started. They might have thought ‘he’s just a baby, we can wait,’ but four years later he’s still only 25.”

The interview is available here.

– TNA Wrestling has posted its latest IMPACT Post Show. Here is the synopsis:
