Green Power Ranger Re-Issues Challenge To Fight CM Punk

45

The goofy mixed-martial-arts challenge match between CM Punk and actor Jason David Frank (aka The Green Power Ranger) is back in the headlines following Frank’s recent appearance at the New York Comic Con. During a 20th anniversary panel, Frank spoke about the challenge made to Punk to fight in a legitimate mixed-martial-arts contest back in July.

The following is a quote from Frank about the issue, which he spoke about at the aforementioned Comic Con panel:

“Let’s get that going. I love CM Punk, he’s a really nice guy. But he did say in his panel that he would fight me and you can’t say that in the fighting world if you don’t mean that you’d fight me. Let’s get a contract going!”

Daniel Bryan Speaks On Proposing To Brie Bella, Total Divas, Hell In A Cell Debut

7

The following are highlights of a recent Miami Herald interview with WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan:

On if he was more nervous proposing to Brie Bella or working at WrestleMania: “Oh, I was way more nervous to pop the question, way more nervous to pop the question. You would think it would be the opposite, in front of 70,000 people, going out there in your spandex, but absolutely not. Popping the question was way more nerve-wracking.”

On if he thinks the Total Divas reality show will help women’s wrestling: “I hope it does. As of now, I don’t know where it’s at because the audiences are so different, but I would like to think it’s going to bring more female fans to WWE to watch the divas because the divas are really good at what they do. So I’m hoping that cross-section starts coming over. That would be great.”

On working in his first Hell In A Cell match: “Hell in a Cell is one of the most brutal matches that you can do in WWE. I’ve never been in one. So I’m going to go out there and do it once and probably only once [Bryan chuckles]. I don’t think most of the guys who’ve been in Hell in a Cell matches ever really want to go do it again. A lot of times the top guys end up doing multiple Hell in a Cell matches, but they’re [rough]. Every WWE superstar does want to do it once just to experience it.”

Jim Ross Blogs About The Need For WWE To Develop New Main Event Talent

7

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com.

In this entry, JR talks about WWE’s need to develop new main event talent – and why the company should go “back to basics” with their booking:

“With the overall lack of main event depth in WWE these days, now would be the perfect time to get someone on a roll…attempt to get them hot and see if the individual can connect with the audience. One can always audible out of it but this matter can’t be determined in a few weeks no matter how sage like some feel that they may be in determining such.”

“It’s a process that is largely determined by the live audience’s reaction over time.”

“All sports, or entertainment, fans want to support the ‘stars’ and ‘stars,’ IE heroes, and all have similar traits. They win more than they lose, they somehow eventually overcome when the odds are the greatest against them and they never quit. All these traits endears them to the audience. Fans can identify with winning. Loses become significant moments and not every other week occurrences.”

“50/50 booking helps NO one.”

“Those trying to re-invent the ‘booking’ wheel and who refuse or simply ignore basic psychology and human emotions are foolish or naive or…gasp… egomaniacal.”

“Box office receipts and PPV numbers should convince any one who professes that the fine line between good and evil need not exist.”

As always, you can check out JR’s amazing line of BBQ products at WWEShop.com.
