This led to Cena coming out. Cena did a mock-introduction for Del Rio before defeating him in the actual match. WWE RAW Results

November 4, 2013
Greenville, South Carolina
Results by Matt Boone for SESCOOPS.COM

WWE RAW Opener:

The Monday, November 4, 2013 edition of WWE RAW emanates from Greenville, South Carolina. The show begins with Michael Cole welcoming us to RAW, immediately followed by CM Punk’s theme music. Punk comes out and passionately points out to the fans in Greenville that “it’s clobbering time.” As Punk continues his entrance, we get a recap video of The Wyatt Family’s attack of Punk on last Monday’s show. From there, we see Bray Wyatt with a latern. He informs the fans in Greenville that “we’re here.”

CM Punk vs. Luke Harper

The bell sounds and Punk immediately goes after Harper. Within seconds, Harper’s size and strength are too much for Punk early into this match. Harper overpowers Punk into the corner and goes to work. Punk fights back with a series of punches, but is cut off by a big elbow by Harper. Punk throws Harper out to the floor. He goes to dive through the ropes to the floor, but Harper comes forward and nails Punk with a big forearm shot right as Punk was coming through the ropes. Harper rolls back in the ring, as we hear Bray Wyatt tell Harper “to be smart.” Harper goes back to work on Punk in the middle of the ring. After dominating Punk for a little while longer, Punk again gets Harper out to the floor. This time, he makes a successful dive out to the floor on Harper. We head to a mid-match commercial. We return from commercial and Harper is back in control. Michael Cole informs us that the tide turned in the match on the WWE App during the commercial. We get a video replay of what went down on the WWE App during the commercial, which was Erick Rowan, sheep mask and all, distracting Punk from outside of the ring, allowing Harper to nail Punk with a big boot to the face. Back to the live action now, as Harper continues his offensive onslaught on “The Best In The World.” Punk starts fighting back again, slowing Harper down with a spinning tornado-DDT. Both guys are down now. They both get back to their feet and begin exchanging punches. Punk mixes in some kicks and ultimately gets the better of the larger man. We see a shot of Bray Wyatt, chilling in his rocking chair outside the ring, shouting words of encouragement to Harper. Punk goes to the top rope. He signals for the flying elbow, but changes his mind and flies out to the floor onto Rowan. Punk slingshots himself back into the ring, but meets a big boot from Harper. Harper sets up for his version of JBL’s old Clothesline From Hell, but Punk avoids it and rolls up Harper for the 1-2-3.

Winner: CM Punk

After The Match:

After the match, the other members of The Wyatt Family immediately beat up Punk in the ring. After a few seconds, Daniel Bryan comes running down to the ring, with a steel chair. Bryan’s arm is heavily taped up, by the way. Bryan cleans house with the steel chair and The Wyatt Family back off and head back up the ramp. Punk and Bryan are aligned in the ring, looking out at The Wyatt Family as Punk’s music plays.

Michael Cole’s Sit-Down Interview With Triple H

Highlights are shown of the latest Michael Cole sit-down interview with Triple H from WWE.com. The focus of the highlights from the interview are HHH talking about Big Show’s multi-million dollar lawsuit, and HHH revealing that Big Show is “banned from WWE for life.” After the video recap ends, we see a video replay of Big Show hitting HHH with the Knockout Punch from RAW last month.

Tonight’s Live Poll:

Michael Cole informs everyone that this week’s live RAW poll on the WWE App allows fans to select Randy Orton’s opponent for later tonight. The options fans can vote for are Dolph Ziggler, Big E. Langston and The Miz. Fans can vote now on the WWE App or on WWE.com.

Tonight’s Main Event Announced:

As we head to our next commercial break on RAW, we are informed that the main event tonight will see John Cena teaming up with the current WWE Tag-Team Champions, Goldust and Cody Rhodes, to take on the trio of Damien Sandow and The Real Americans.

Renee Young Interviews CM Punk

Backstage, Renee Young is with CM Punk. Young asks if fighting The Wyatt Family is a fair fight. Punk says it wasn’t, but he’s used to it. He says he’s been dealing with Paul Heyman and his “goons” for months. He says the one thing they don’t know is that he isn’t the only one who has a problem with The Wyatt Family.

Live Telephone Interview With Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman is live on the phone. He says he’s in Europe and he’s seeing a number of specialists to help him with the injuries he’s suffering following the beating he received from CM Punk at the WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view. He breaks down some of the injuries he is suffering from and reminds everyone that he’s a married man with two children. He says what Punk did to him, after all they’ve been through, is inexcusable. He begins crying a bit as he’s talking and says CM Punk and the WWE Universe owes him an apology. Michael Cole says, “Paul, are you criyng?” Heyman then hangs up.

Ryback vs. The Great Khali

Ryback makes his way to the ring. We are told that earlier tonight, via the WWE App, Ryback is shown bullying Hornswoggle. He smashes a cupcake into the little guy’s face. Santino Marella says he should pick on somebody his own size. Ryback is fine with that. Santino says he isn’t talking about himself, he tells Ryback to look behind him. Behind him stands The Great Khali. Ryback doesn’t seem phased. He says he’s gonna take care of them. He calls them “freaks” and walks away. On that note, we head to commercial. We’re back live and Khali’s entrance is finishing up. The bell sounds and the two big men lock up. Both guys exchange punches, with Khali ultimately getting the better of them. Khali grabs Ryback by the ear and chops the hell out off him repeatedly. I guess the idea is that Khali is bullying Ryback in the ring the way Ryback bullied Hornswoggle, and has been bullying people for months now in WWE. Ryback tries fighting back but Khali cuts him short with a big clothesline. Khali sets up for the big Karate Chop but Ryback ducks it and comes off the ropes, nailing Khali with an enormous clothesline. I’m talking an amazing clothesline. Michael Cole says that was an amazing Meathook Clothesline. Ryback pins Khali. 1-2-3. Ryback wins.

Winner: Ryback

After The Match:

Ryback grabs Santino out on the floor. Hornswoggle tries dropkicking Ryback from inside the ring. It barely budges Ryback. Hornswoggle runs away and Ryback ends up throwing Santino into the ringside barricade. He raises his arms in victory once again and walks away smiling.

8

Josh Stewart of the official Newsday website sent along a link to an article with a response from the Billy Corgan camp regarding the rumors that the Smashing Pumpkins frontman was attempting to buy an ownership stake in TNA Wrestling.

A spokesperson for the rock-and-roll star told the Newsday website the following:

There is no reason to comment on rumors. Billy is completely focused on Resistance Pro’s upcoming 2nd anniversary [show on Nov. 23].”

The Newsday article also quoted Panda Energy executive Janice Carter, who is the mother of current TNA president Dixie Carter, from the memo she sent out to TNA employees. Carter wrote the following in the memo:

“An unfortunate aspect of this business is that there are wrestling ‘reporters’ who consistently post ‘news stories’ without proper facts. I want to assure you these are just rumors and that I am committed to TNA and its future.”

WWE SmackDown Rating & Viewership: Did John Cena’s Return Help Numbers?

17

The Friday, November 1st edition of WWE SmackDown, which featured the return of WWE Superstar John Cena, scored a final cable rating of 1.9, according to Nielsen Media Research. The 1.9 final draw marks a decrease from last week’s number, which came in at a 1.94.

Hulk Hogan On Oprah Winfrey’s Network, Are The Wyatt Family Heels Or Faces?

23

-WWE Hall Of Famer Hulk Hogan is scheduled to make an appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s “Where Are They Now?” show, which airs on the OWN channel on Sunday night’s. There is no official date for the Hogan appearance yet, but once it is announced we will update you.

-In addition to speaking about the TNA sale rumors, WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross wrote about whether The Wyatt Family are heels or babyfaces currently. The following is an excerpt from JR’s new blog where he touches on the subject: “Are the Wyatt’s fan favorites or villains? I actually don’t know but I tend to lean toward the fan favorite side of the equation. What have the Wyatt’s specifically done to make them be automatically considered villains? They are a radially cool, unique entity that are loyal to each other and enjoy imposing their physical will on others in the hopes of winning, therefore earning more money in the pro rasslin world, and establishing more actual, professional marketability.”

VIDEO: RVD Says He Has No WWE Contract, Speaks On When He Will Return

16

The following are highlights of a recent Sam Roberts interview with WWE Superstar Rob Van Dam:

On factors that may extend his time away from WWE: “A lot of factors. A lot of it has to do with what else is going on. There are a few projects that might possibly come to pass within this timeframe. The action movie that I’m not trying to talk about so much in case it doesn’t happen… I had one starring role in this movie “The Wrong Side of Town.” The same production crew has been trying to pick up the pieces since then because producers were fighting on the set and nobody wanted to work together.”

On his deal being done with WWE: “It may possibly be that if that happens, it could prolong a return. Just based on wrestling, what’s the right amount of time to take off, it’s a mutual decision. My deal is done. I still consider myself in the WWE family, but technically on paper I am now without contract.”

Rey Mysterio Talks About 2014 Being His Comeback Year

21

During a recent interview with the Miami Herald, WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio spoke about his plans for an upcoming return to the ring.

Mysterio actually wrestled last month during WWE’s live events tour of Mexico, but says he only got back in the ring to see how his knee felt:

“It was more of a let’s see how my body reacts and my knee reacts to being back in the ring,” Mysterio said. “Overall I felt good but still feel I need a bit more therapy, just from the damage I’ve done through the years to my knee. We are back to therapy and strengthening up that quad and hamstring, just making sure there are no mistakes this next time.”

Mysterio originally planned to be back in action this summer, but then delayed his plans for a full time return to “around Thanksgiving, maybe Christmas.” Now, it’s sounding like he won’t be back in action until 2014.

“I think if I don’t do it by the end of the year, then next year,” Mysterio said. “I would hate to push myself instead of taking my time. I want to make a good return, and not being absent shortly after my return. It’s something I’m still debating. I’m going to listen to my body.”

Despite the countless injuries he’s dealt with, Mysterio still feels the passion to compete in WWE.

“I’m definitely still motivated and feel the urge to be in the ring,” Mysterio said. “I’ve always told myself the day I don’t feel that anymore is the day I need to say, ‘That’s it.’ I still have some years inside me that I want to push forward, I want to go out and entertain. I miss it. I really do. I miss being out there and the interaction with the fans. I miss the applause and the 619 chants. I’m hoping that God still gives me a couple of more years for me to perform.”

Olympic Wrestler Chas Betts Announces He’s Signed With WWE

18

As reported earlier today, Olympic wrestler Chas Betts has signed with WWE. Betts, who competed on the 2012 United States Olympic team (Greco-Roman wrestling), posted the following message on his Facebook page announcing that today is his first day at the WWE Performance center in Orlando, Florida:

“On Oct. 19th of last year, I asked Kristi to give me one year to attack and pursue a new dream after I retired from Greco-Roman Wrestling…

It ended up taking two weeks longer than I asked for, but I think she’ll forgive that — considering we’ve moved to sunny Orlando, FL just as the Minnesota winter was about to kick in.

I am proud to announce I have signed a contract with WWE and begin training [Monday] at the WWE Performance Center here in Florida. For those that have known me a long time, you know being a pro-wrestler has been a dream of mine since I was 11 or 12 years old. I’m honored and humbled by the opportunity. I am extremely lucky to have a wife and family that has supported me in every dream I’ve chosen to chase, however unlikely it may be. Never underestimate the power of a good support system, people!

For those interested in following the journey, feel free to follow me @chasbetts on Twitter. See ya down the road, friends!”

WWE & “The Simpsons” Animators Developing “Camp WWE” Web Series

11

Variety.com reports that WWE Studios and “The Simpsons” animators Film Roman are working together to co-finance and co-produce a new WWE-themed web series titled “Camp WWE.”

The adult comedy “will revolve around what WWE’s wrestlers were like as kids.”

“In the show, parents of the WWE stars pack up their kids, their masks, chains and kneepads and send them off to Camp WWE to be transformed into model citizens by the most terrifying counselor who ever lived, Mr. McMahon, after they prove to be a nightmare for teachers and other kids.”

Talk Of A Potential Champion vs. Champion Match At WrestleMania XXX

78

With planning underway for the WrestleMania XXX card, one match that’s been talked about in recent weeks is a WWE Champion vs. World Heavyweight champion match. Whether or not this would be a unification match or simply a special attraction, it’s being discussed.

Since John Cena returned at Hell in a Cell, there has been a strong push to bring prestige back to the World Heavyweight championship. While John Cena and Randy Orton had a never-ending feud several years ago, the two have never squared off at WrestleMania in a singles match (they wrestled Triple H in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 24). With Randy Orton being billed as the new “Face of WWE” by Triple H and the Authority, a match against John Cena would have a built-in storyline.

Aside from John Cena, CM Punk is another top baby face that is being considered for a shot at the WWE Championship next April.

COMMENT BELOW and tell us if you want to see a Champion vs. Champion match at WrestleMania XXX – and if WWE should unify the titles & crown an Undisputed champion.

Update On Billy Corgan’s Interest In TNA & Other Possible Buyers

12

As previously reported, Smashing Pumpkins star and Resistance Pro Wrestling promoter Billy Corgan is one of the top names interested in purchasing TNA Impact Wrestling.

Corgan, a longtime wrestling fan who was once in the running to buy the original ECW, might not have the financial means to purchase the company, let alone carry it longterm. According to f4wonline.com, Corgan is in talks with a “wealthy friend” who could invest in partial ownership.

Even with Corgan being interested, there are said to be other groups showing interest with better financial backing.

TNA and Panda Energy are insisting that the company is not for sale, but there definitely have been serious conversations with multiple parties.

Goldust Talks About Being In The Best Shape Of His Career & Working With Cody

14

WWE tag team champion Dustin “Goldust” Runnels recently spoke with Mike Mooneyham of the Charleston Post and Courier about his triumphant return to the company and winning tag team gold with his brother, Cody Rhodes.  Regarding their title win over The Shield, he said, “It was one of those matches that was built the right way from the ground up. It started out very slowly, old-school style, and ended with some boom, boom, boom. It was hot. It was very, very exciting.”

Goldust says he’s in the best shape of his career and takes a lot of pride in his work.

“It was cool the way things worked out,” reflects Runnels. “I never could have imagined or dreamed where my career would be taking me the way it has with the Goldust character. It’s awesome.

“I think I’ve stumbled upon the fountain of youth or something. I’m 44 years old and I’m down to high school weight (225). But I’ve worked hard for it the past few years. Plus being with Cody gives me more motivation. I’ve really enjoyed this storyline we’ve been doing.”

“Now I realize that I can get out there and be clear when I’m working and really give a (darn) and get through a match without taking all that (stuff). That’s really what it’s about. And I’m enjoying it. I know what’s going on now. It’s cool.”
