Bryan vs. Orton Title Match Scheduled, Justin Credible Blogs About Darren Young

13

-WWE is advertising a main event of Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at the upcoming live event in Montreal on September 6th. The semi-main event of the card features CM Punk vs. Curtis Axel in a no disqualification match. Also advertised to appear are Rob Van Dam, Big Show, Mark Henry and The Shield.

SESCOOPS.COM reader Phil Johnson sent along the following:

-Former ECW Champion Justin Credible has posted a new blog. This week Credible talks on Darren Young “coming out,” Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam, Monday’s Raw, being 9 months sober, among other topics. Jason Knight is this week’s special guest on Justin Credible’s Pro Wrestling 101 video series. Here is an extract from “The Justin Credible Report:”

“What a week for the WWE. Summer Slam is in the books, and there is so much to talk about. First leading into the PPV in LA, Darren Young comes out to TMZ that he is gay.

As you know WWE got a ton of free mainstream press heading into their second biggest PPV of the year. I’m happy for Darren, and I applaud his courage. On the other hand, there is no way that this was just a spur of the moment statement. I have been told that this was carefully thought out, and Darren and the WWE had this planned the whole time. There is just no way that Darren was conveniently asked that specific question and he just happened to decide now is as good a time as any to come out.”

Lex Luger Recalls His Relationship With Randy Savage, Initial Reaction To “Lex Express” Idea

13

Promoting his recently released autobiography Wrestling with the Devil: The True Story of a World Champion Professional Wrestler – His Reign, Ruin, and Redemption, Lex Luger appeared on Pro Wrestling Powerhouse Radio Tuesday night to discuss his career in the professional wrestling industry. Highlights from the interview are as follows:

On the Lex Express & Vince McMahon: “I thought they were out of their minds! I was having fun being The Narcissist with the mirrors and the pyro and the girls. And I got called into Vince McMahon’s office off the road. We were traveling 300 days a year then, in Stamford, Connecticut. And, I thought, ‘What did I do wrong?’ I thought I was getting called into the principal’s office. He sat down with me and laid the whole thing out. The slam on the USS Intrepid on July 4th and then he talked about the bus too. He laid it all out for SummerSlam. I thought he was out of his mind, but he was absolutely spot on. He truly is a marketing genius…”

Relationship with Randy Savage: “Contrary to what a lot of people probably think or might assume, behind the scenes we were always very good friends. Traveled together for long periods of time, went to the gym together, traveled to Europe together, we played cards together. Even later on, when I had a relationship with Elizabeth, he’d already been divorced for so many years. He brought other women and valets to television…I think he’s one of the best performers ever, and I’d love to see him in the Hall of Fame.”

Other topics discussed include his introduction to the professional wrestling industy, weight lifting advice and possibly winning the WWF Championship. The audio interview is available here and can be accessed on iTunes and Stitcher Radio.

Jim Ross Blogs About WWE SummerSlam

23

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com with his thoughts on Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. Here are some highlights of what he said about:

The Show’s Production: Enjoyed the Summer Slam PPV and it was a real masterpiece from a TV production standpoint and look of the show. Very slick and well produced. No one does live TV better than WWE but I’ve been saying that for years.

The Main Event Swerve: Cena/Bryan/HHH/Orton created a most memorable moment at Summer Slam that certainly has a great deal of fans talking. It sets up some potential, interesting scenarios down the road. Bryan winning the title from Cena and then being able to celebrate before the pedigree and Orton’s pin was well done.

Daniel Bryan: Daniel Bryan may be more popular today than if he had actually won the WWE Title at Summer Slam. Bryan will now apparently chase new Champ Randy Orton and the thrill of the fan favorite chasing the antagonist has always interested me as a fan.

CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar: Punk vs. Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman was another masterpiece. I predicted that it would be overtly physical and it certainly was in delivering a ‘DEE-LUX’ Slobber Knocker of a match. Great intensity and physicality rarely fails to deliver when the money is on the line in a major PPV. Simple gameplan….great results.

Sin Cara Injury Update, Total Divas Rating Down Against SummerSlam

12

– Sunday’s episode of Total Divas drew 1.349 million viewers, down from the previous episode’s 1.671 million viewers.

The show aired during the final hour of SummerSlam, which explains the falloff. Despite viewership being down for the first time, Sunday’s show still had more viewers than the debut episode.

– After undergoing an MRI exam following his hand injury on RAW, Sin Cara wrestled in a dark match prior to Tuesday night’s WWE Smackdown tapings. He defeated Damien Sandow. No word yet on how the MRI went, but the fact that he was back in the ring the night after his injury is a good sign.

A cage is hanging above the ring.

The Smackdown opened with a recap of the main event at SummerSlam and the live crowd exploded with yes chants but booing when Randy Orton cashing was shown. They also recapped the events from Raw as well with the McMahons.

Vickie Guerrero opened the show to a shit load of heat and introduced Randy Orton. He spoke about giving us what we want. It was hard to hear he got a lot of heat. He said that he told us the truth about cashing in his briefcase at SummerSlam. He said he was surprised by what Triple H did, and that he didn’t need his help to win. He asked for our support and No! chants broke out. He said he is the face of the WWE.

Daniel Byran interrupted Orton and thanked John Cena for the opportunity at SummerSlam. Bryan said it’s time for the face of the WWE to change. Bryan insulted how Orton looks and said he looks pretty. He also called Orton arrogant. Bryan said he had to scratch and suffer while Orton was handed every opportunity.

Bryan challenged Orton for the title by saying I can beat you for that pointing to the title. He challenged Orton for the title tonight, but Orton said it has to wait until Night Of Champions. Orton and Bryan stood face to face and Orton held up the title. Bryan hit and kicked Orton from the ring.

Vickie was show talking and yelling about What Bryan did backstage, and Wade Barrett interrupted. A steel cage match was announced for later in the show

1. Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel (w/Paul Heyman) beat Cody Rhodes. A pretty well wrestled match from both men, but there is a reason this match was on Smackdown. The crowd was pretty quiet for this match. The guy next to me caught me taking notes and told me to pay attention. WWE fans are crazy. A CM Punk chant broke out.

Heyman cut a promo afterward and received a ton of heat. He said he is in pain because of Punk. He moaned about Punk and trashed him, which caused a lot of heat. Heyman said Punk is lost without him. Axel said Punk doesn’t deserve a title shot for his title, but he challenged him for the title for this coming Monday on Raw.

2. Dolph Ziggler beat Big E Langston (w/A.J. Lee). Ziggler won by pinfall after a Zig Zag.

3. World Hvt. Champion Alberto Del Rio defeated Christian. Del Rio defeated Christian via submission the arm bar. After the match, Del Rio said something about Latinos, which led to cheers, but he called all of us peasants and said that he wants us to follow the great Alberto Del Rio. Ricardo Rodriguiez came out and trashed Del Rio, and introduced Rob Van Dam. Christian dropkicked Del Rio off the top rope and RVD did a frog splash to end the segment.

4. Big Show and Mark Henry defeated Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre, and Jinder Mahal in a handicap match.Show and Henry won by pinfall after Show hit the WMD.

5. Darren Young defeated Antonio Cesaro.

6. Daniel Bryan defeated Wade Barrett in a cage match. A really good, competitive match with several near falls. And because of Bryan’s involvement, this match would have been an awesome pay-per-view match. Afterward, Orton came out and RKO’d Bryan. The crowd booed to end the show.

Dark Match

1. Big Show, Mark Henry, and Daniel Bryan defeated The Shield. Big Show gave Stinkfaces to all three members of The Shield and the crowd laughed.
