Chris Masters Saves His Mother From A Burning House

37

Former WWE superstar Chris Masters saved his mother’s life last night, rescuing her from a burning house.

Masters says he rushed to his mother’s home in Los Angeles after his uncle called him saying that her neighbor went crazy and barricaded himself inside her house. When he arrived, he tried talking to the guy, who said he would burn the house to the ground if anybody entered. Masters called the police, but when they showed up, the man set the house on fire.

Masters ripped a small tree out of the ground and broke one of the windows in the house with it. He was able to reach through the window and take his mother out of the house. Police then got involved an arrested the crazy neighbor on arson charges. Masters tweeted this picture of the aftermath:

WWE WrestleMania 29 Predictions

WWE WrestleMania 29 Predictions

WWE WrestleMania 29 is less than three weeks away and the card is finally starting to take shape. Despite the fact that several of the top matches are rematches, the big stage of WrestleMania (including the 70,000+ fans who will jam pack the MetLife Stadium) will ensure this is a show to remember. This is the official SEScoops thread for WrestleMania 29 Predictions – we’ll list our predictions below and we want to hear your own predictions in the comments section. Without further ado, let’s get started with our WrestleMania 29 Predictions:

WWE Champion The Rock vs. John Cena

It’s the rematch of the century – the “Twice in a Lifetime” bout that not everybody wanted to see, but was inevitable due to the tremendous box office success of their first encounter. Since his loss to The Rock last April, John Cena’s career went into a tailspin. Even though he had a victory win over the returning Brock Lesnar at Elimination Chamber, he suffered several high-profile losses and went through a messy divorce. Cena promised that 2013 would be his year – and at the Royal Rumble, he started off on a great note, winning the annual 30-man battle royal and securing his spot in the main event of WrestleMania 29. On that same fateful night, The Rock defeated WWE Champion CM Punk to end his historic 434-day title run and set the wheels in motion for the WrestleMania rematch most of us saw coming a mile away. It’s John Cena’s Redemption vs. The Rock’s Legacy – and our money is on John Cena. The Rock had his moment in the sun last year in front of his hometown crowd of Miami. He fulfilled his destiny by recapturing the WWE Championship one more time. He says he’s back for the fans, some would argue The Rock is back to make big money working a light schedule – but in reality, The Rock is back to shine up WWE’s most valuable full-time asset – and that’s John Cena.

  • Prediction: John Cena defeats The Rock to capture the WWE Championship

The Undertaker vs. CM Punk

The Undertaker looks to extend his legendary streak to 21-0. After a lengthy WWE title reign, CM Punk looks to solidify his place in wrestling history by being the first man to defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania. Prior to the tragic passing of Paul Bearer, CM Punk would have done a tremendous job convincing the WWE Universe that he actually had a chance to break the streak. Now that Paul Bearer’s death has been incorporated into the feud and CM Punk is disrespecting Bearer’s memory by taunting the Undertaker’s with the urn – it’s quite apparent that The Undertaker will get his revenge on Punk at Wrestlemania. Expect drama – expect plenty of near falls – expect CM Punk to come “this close” to getting the win. But in the end – they all fall victim to the dark side.

  • Prediction: The Undertaker extends his streak to 21-0

World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger

Since capturing the World Heavyweight championship from Big Show earlier this year, he’s gotten over well as WWE’s much-needed Mexican hero babyface. Enter right-wing extremists Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter – the perfect foils for Del Rio. A month ago – “We The People” began taking off, WWE was getting mainstream media attention for their new “Tea Party” characters it looked like Swagger had at least a 50/50 shot at winning his second World Heavyweight title. Then Swagger got arrested for drug posession and DUI. Speculation swirled that WWE would suspend Swagger, remove him from the match or let him go entirely. None of that happened – and they’ve stuck to their guns, building towards the Mexican Hero vs. Mexican Hater showdown. While there’s probably more money in Del Rio chasing Swagger for the title, it’s hard to imagine WWE putting the World Heavyweight title on Swagger right after his arrest. Here’s what we think (and are praying for) – Swagger wins and “I’m Here To Show The World” hits. The place erupts, Dolph Ziggler cashes in his Money in the Bank contract, defeats Jack Swagger for the title in a quick match, effectively turning babyface.

  • Prediction: Jack Swagger wins the World Heavyweight title
  • Prediction#2: Dolph Ziggler cashes in Money in the Bank wins the World Heavyweight title

Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar (No Holds Barred, Triple H’s Career On The Line)

Another big rematch at the top of the WrestleMania card. These two met at last year’s SummerSlam – with Lesnar going over in dominant fashion, “breaking” Triple H’s arm in the process. The Game is back – putting his career on the line in his return match. The No Holds Barred stipulation means this one is going to get messy – with lots of weapons and possible run-ins. The match will resemble a fight more so than a wrestling match – which favors the former UFC Heavyweight Champion. Lesnar just signed a 2-year contract extension, doesn’t need the win here – and you know Triple H would love one more epic win on the WrestleMania stage. However, we’re looking ahead to WrestleMania 30, when WWE will want to pull out all the stops. Triple H is still a draw and it makes sense that he’d want to wrestle next year as well. For that reason – we’re going with The Game.

  • Prediction: Triple H

Team Hell No vs. Dolph Ziggler & Big E Langston

This match was thrown together at the last minute, but at least the tag team titles are being defended at WrestleMania. We know what this one will entail – solid wrestling & some comedy from the champions, crazy bumps from Dolph Ziggler, power moves from Big E and a whole lot of hotness (and probably some interference) from AJ Lee. In the end – Daniel Bryan gets paid back for last year’s embarrassing 8-second World Heavyweight title lost by getting a WrestleMania win.

  • Prediction: Team Hell No retains the Tag Team Titles

Ryback vs. Mark Henry

The battle of the monsters. This one’s been rumored for quite some time – and it’s going to be a total slugfest. Mark Henry is great in his role and could be Ryback’s toughest opponent to date. In the end, Ryback gets his big “WrestleMania moment” by hoisting Mark Henry on his back and delivering Shell Shocked for the win.

  • Prediction: Ryback wins.

The Shield vs. Randy Orton, Big Show & Sheamus

Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns have been one of the best parts of WWE television since their debut at last year’s Survivor Series. They’ve proven themselves to be very strong in the ring and on the mic – and work together tremendously as a 3-man unit. Orton, Big Show and Sheamus have a lot of star power, but not a lot of direction with their characters and limited experience working together. The Shield soundly defeated the team of John Cena, Ryback and Sheamus at Elimination Chamber, and we can’t think of a good reason why the weaker team of Orton, Big Show and Sheamus will be able to get the job done.

  • Prediction: The Shield wins
  • Prediction #2: Randy Orton turns heel during or after the match

And there we have it. We’ll update this thread with more predictions in the event that new matches are added to the card. Now, it’s your turn. Hit up the comments below and tell us what you think will go down at WWE WrestleMania 29 on Sunday, April 7th.

MVP’s New Rap Song “Tokyo” Released, MVP Comments On His WrestleMania 29 Status

8

Former WWE superstar MVP released his new rap song “Tokyo” earlier this week and it’s been played so many times he has to upgrade his SoundCloud account. He tweeted on Tuesday:

In case you haven’t heard it yet, here’s MVP’s New Rap Song “Tokyo”

MVP was also asked by a fan on Twitter if he’ll be attending or appearing at WrestleMania. He replied:

During a recent interview, MVP revealed that he recently decided to leave New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he’s been working since 2011. He also commented on whether he’s open to wrestling for WWE again or TNA. You can read the full interview here:

CM Punk Taking Time Off After WrestleMania, Update On His Current Injury

38

CM Punk will be getting some time off after WrestleMania 29. The former WWE Champion has been dealing with several nagging injuries in recent months, but has downplayed the extent of how banged up he is. Punk’s latest injury took place on last week’s RAW during his no DQ match with Kane. There are conflicting reports as to whether it was his arm or his hip or his knee.

Punk was originally scheduled to wrestle at last week’s WWE live events, but did not compete. He’s also been pulled from all upcoming WWE live events through WrestleMania 29, so he can rest up and be healthy for his match against The Undertaker.

Punk most likely will not be working most live events immediately after WrestleMania, but is still scheduled for all RAW TV shows and is still advertised for WWE’s European tour the week after WrestleMania. The feeling in WWE is that Punk has been giving 110% to the company during a time when they needed him (especially during his title reign) and has earned the time off.

Correction On Bob Backlund’s HOF Inductor, WrestleMania 29 Weather, Rumored HOF Name

10

– Former WWE Diva Maria Menounos is currently scheduled to induct Bob Backlund into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.

As previously reported, Kanellis was also contacted about returning to the company for the proposed “Past Divas vs. Present Divas” match at WrestleMania 29, but it doesn’t appear that the match will be happening.

– Following the announcement that Booker T will be entering the WWE Hall of Fame this year, we can confirm another name discussed for this year’s class is former WWWF Tag Team Champion Dominic DeNucci. DeNucci is a close friend of Bruno Sammartino and also trained Mick Foley. With this year’s class already stacked, it’s unknown whether DeNucci will still be included.

– Despite the cold weather in New York this week, there does is not much concern in WWE regarding bad weather WrestleMania 29. Looking at the historical weather data for April 7th in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the average high is 59 degrees and the average low is 37 degrees. The record high is 78 degrees and the record low is 17 degrees. The Old Farmer’s Almanac currently predicts “sunny, pleasant” weather for the week leading up to the show.

10-Diva Tag Match Involving Former Divas Discussed For WrestleMania 29

27

With WrestleMania less than 3 weeks away and no Divas match currently booked for the show, PWInsider.com reports that at one point, there was talk of a 10-Divas tag team match that would have featured “Current Divas vs. Former Divas.”

The current Divas would have included Kaitlyn, Layla and others, while the returning Divas would have been Kelly Kelly, The Bella Twins, Maryse and Maria Kanellis.

2013 Hall of Fame inductee Trish Stratus would have also been brought in to manage one of the teams.

The news coincides with what we’ve been reporting in recent weeks, that WWE has been reaching out to former Divas about returning to the company. According to sources in WWE, several of the ladies who were contacted actually negotiated their deals together – and wanted special stipulations in their contracts, such as the ability to use their WWE ring names after they leave the company.

WWE rarely allows this and told the former Divas, “thanks but no thanks.” The Bella Twins are now back with WWE, but their situation is separate from Kelly Kelly, Maryse and Maria. The Bellas left WWE on good terms last year, with the door open for them to return whenever they wanted.

– The following is a preview for tonight’s WWE Main Event:

  • WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett vs. R-Truth

The Rock Talks Hercules Preparation & Wants To Be A James Bond Villain

18

While overseas in London this week doing promotional work for “G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” WWE Champion The Rock spoke to BANG Showbiz about how he’s preparing for the upcoming movie Hercules, which begins shooting after WrestleMania 29:

“In terms of training, it all depends on what I’m doing that day. It all depends on what the goal is. Right now I’m prepping for ‘Hercules’ so the diet is a crazy diet. I eat six to seven times a day.”

The Rock said that he’s interested in playing a James Bond villain, and how he wouldn’t be the first person in his family to appear in a Bond film:

“Skyfall’s one of the greatest action movies of all time. It’s amazing. Love Daniel Craig. I would love to be in Bond. Maybe a Bond baddie. You know, my grandfather was in ‘You Only Live Twice’. He was a Bond baddie.”

He also revealed that he was joking when he talked about appearing in the next Expendables movie.

“‘Expendables 3?’ They’re not ready for me! They’re not ready for this ass-kicking!'”

Zeb Colter’s Future In WWE, Jim Ross & Regal Hype Thursday’s NXT

5

– WWE officials are said to be very satisfied with Dutch Mantell’s Zeb Colter character. Regardless of whether WWE continues to push Jack Swagger in the coming months, there are plans for Zeb Colter to remain an on-air character, according to f4wonline.com.

Colter tweeted the following about Ricardo Rodriguez “breaking his ankle” at the hands of Jack Swagger on RAW:

“Latest news on RR, broken ankle and busted ego. Next up, Del Rio at WM…alone without his little amigo. Swagger NEW CHAMP. #wethepeople”

WrestleMania Retrospective – WrestleMania VII (1991)

2

Here’s Part 7 of our WrestleMania Retrospective series, looking back at past WrestleMania events as we march towards WrestleMania 29 on April 7th.

WrestleMania VII (1991)WM7-Poster
Tagline: Super Stars And Stripes Forever!
Date: March, 24, 1991
Venue: Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena, Los Angeles California.
Attendance: 16,158
America The Beautiful: Willie Nelson

WrestleMania VII was originally scheduled to be held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, but decided to move the event to the adjacent Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. The World Wrestling Federation’s stated reason for the venue change was that a threat had been issued towards the company in the wake of Sgt. Slaughter’s portrayal of an Iraqi sympathizer.

The legendary Undertaker Streak begins. Vs Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
The legendary Undertaker Streak begins. Vs Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka

It also was The Undertaker’s WrestleMania debut and the beginning of his renown undefeated streak.

The two main feuds entering WrestleMania in 1991 were between Hulk Hogan and WWF Champion Sgt. Slaughter and The Ultimate Warrior and “Macho King” Randy Savage, and in a way both were intertwined.

The Ultimate Warrior had defeated Hogan for the WWF Championship at WrestleMania a year earlier and entered 1991 as the champion. In the meantime, Sgt. Slaughter had returned to the WWF near the end of 1990 after spending five years wrestling in the American Wrestling Association. When he returned his character was changed to become aligned with Iraq, which coincided with the United States entering the conflict in the Middle East that led to Operation Desert Storm, and he became a contender for Warrior’s title. At the same time, Savage was also vying for the title that he had lost to Hogan at WrestleMania V, and began prodding the Warrior to give him a title shot. Warrior refused and instead Slaughter received the shot.

[youtube id=”Lu5Zi2HuBww” width=”620″ height=”360″]

At the Royal Rumble in January 1991, interference from Savage and his valet Sensational Queen Sherri cost Warrior the title as Slaughter defeated the champion by pin after Savage hit him with a scepter. Warrior left the ring to chase after Savage following his loss and over the next few weeks their feud began to build, which hit a climax when Warrior challenged the Macho King to a retirement match at WrestleMania which Savage accepted.

Meanwhile, Hogan entered the Royal Rumble match and won it for the second consecutive year. After the match, while giving an interview to Gene Okerlund, Hogan was informed that Slaughter and his manager, General Adnan, were defacing the American flag. Hogan then promised to stand up for his country and take the title from Slaughter as soon as possible, and was later named the #1 contender for the WWF title which he had not contended for since losing the title to the Warrior at WrestleMania VI.

WWE taped this week’s episode of SmackDown on Tuesday night from Cincinati, Ohio. Credit to reader David D. for the following results:

– Smackdown opens with Sheamus and Randy Orton on MizTV. They talk about adding Big Show to their team. Both men talk about not being able to trust him, and that prompts Big Show to come out. The Miz says that he would not trust Big Show, since he turned on him when they were a tag team. Show says his opinion doesn’t matter. Show explains why he should be in the match and Sheamus wonders if Show will leave them hanging and turn their backs on them. Randy Orton steps in the way of Sheamus and Show, and then Booker T says that they will see how they can fare in 6 man tag team action later tonight.

1. Mark Henry defeated Zack Ryder. Henry hit multiple World’s Strongest Slams onto Ryder. That brings out Ryback, who stared at him and then he clotheslined Henry. Henry escaped from the ring and walked up the ramp.

– Booker T talks about how Teddy Long helped Vickie make the Wrestlemania match. He is upset at Teddy, and Long says that inducting Booker T in the Hall of Fame changed him. Booker T Hall of Fame video is shown.

2. Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston in an entertaining match. When the match went to the outside, he hit a Fameasser onto Kingston on the outside. He tossed him back into the ring and hit the Zig Zag for the victory. Big E Langston attacked Kingston after the match.

Zeb Colter walks out with Jack Swagger, and Jack talks about his America. They talk about how Ricardo getting his ankle broke was necessary. Zeb continues talking about getting revenge and serving Jack’s America. Swagger says “We, The People.”

3. Jack Swagger defeated Chris Jericho in a great match. At the end of the match, the titantron went out and Fandango’s new set dropped. He distracts Jericho, which begins his downfall. He fought off Swagger shortly after, but the number one contender had Zeb Colter distract the referee so Fandango hit Jericho. Swagger picked up the victory.

– After the match, he hit a legdrop on Jericho from the top rope. He pronounced his name and left.

4. Team Rhodes Scholars vs. Tensai and Brodus Clay end in No Contest. The Bellas came out with Rhodes and Sandow. The women got involved and brawled a little on the outside.

– Matt Striker interviews Sheamus and Randy Orton. They are asked if they can trust Big Show. Sheamus says yes and also says he hopes Big Show trusts them as much as they trust him for tonight.

5. The Miz defeated Antonio Cesaro with the figure four leglock. Wade Barrett was on commentary during the match. After the bout, Miz locked in the hold again and yelled for Barrett to get into the ring. Barrett retreated, holding up his Intercontinental Championship. After the match, Miz locked the figure hour in again and begs Barrett to enter the ring. Barrett held up the belt and walked away.

6. Randy Orton, Sheamus, and The Big Show defeated 3MB. The Big Show hit a Knockout Punch and then Sheamus tagged himself in to hit a Brogue Kick for the victory. The Shield came out when Sheamus and Big Show were arguing. They surrounded the ring, but would retreat when Orton, Sheamus, and Big Show came together.

Two Major Heel Turns Discussed For WWE Superstars

81

– There has been talk of adding an 8-Divas tag team match at WrestleMania 29, which would feature The Bella Twins, Layla and Tamina vs. Kaitlyn, Cameron, Naomi and TV personality Maria Menounos.  Menounos wrestled at last year’s WrestleMania, teaming with Kelly Kelly against Beth Phoenix & Eve Torres.

– WWE Superstar Randy Orton has been pushing WWE management to turn him heel for quite some time now – and it appears that the Viper could finally get his wish at WrestleMania 29. There has been talk of Orton turning on his teammates Sheamus and Big Show at WrestleMania 29 during or after their match against The Shield, who are expected to win the contest.

– Another superstar that could be turning heel is Kofi Kingston. Kofi has been a babyface for his entire WWE career since his debut in 2007, but there’s a feeling that his character needs to be freshened up.

I wish I could explicitly Tell Jack Swagger how I feel about him but I know we have a lot of children here. Trying to stay as positive as one can be in a situation like this so let’s play a game of hangman, Jack. “_ _ _ _ _ _ _ , Jack Swagger””

10. Chris Jericho

The article questioned where WWE Champion The Rock was (he was in the UK doing media work for “G.I. Joe: Retaliation”) and said that the show “will go down as one of the historically bad nights in wrestling television (and a clear signal that they need to end the three-hour experiment).”

Ric Flair & Shawn Michaels Talk About Triple H Possibly Retiring

17

WWE.com has an article up looking at the “Triple H retirement” stipulation that’s been added to his match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 29. The article includes from retired WWE Hall of Famers Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels, who talk about the significance of the stipulation:

Ric Flair: “He’s too young to leave the business and has too much left to offer. If he doesn’t wrestle again, no matter how much time he spends in the office working with the company, he’ll be miserable. He needs to be in the ring. That’s who he is. Triple H is a student of this business and has studied and has loved it since he was a young man, and it’s reflected in who he is. And I think he needs to stay active and keep contributing in the ring. He can’t stay backstage or in the office. He’ll get bored with that real fast.”

HBK: “I certainly believe that he’s got plenty of other responsibilities that would keep him busy. I think he would be content. He’s always had a level head on his shoulders — more so than me — so from that standpoint, I think he would. Could he say, ‘absolutely no more, not even here and there’? I don’t know. I think that’s always the million-dollar question for all of us.”

Jim Ross Blog: Monday’s “Perpelxing” RAW, Booker T

0

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com with his thoughts on Monday’s “perplexing” RAW, which he admits wasn’t a great outing for WWE. Here are some highlights of what JR said about:

Monday’s RAW: Perplexing Raw Monday night in Pittsburgh. Obviously, the live crowd was not into some aspects of the broadcast which resonated at home.

Triple H, Paul Heyman & Brock Lesnar: “Paul Heyman took almost an inhumane, physical beating from HHH before The Game signed his name to a contract that says The Game is done as an active wrestler if he doesn’t beat Brock Lesnar on April 7. I know that HHH would rather wrestle than sit in business meetings even though his long term future as WWE COO is well established. Men like HHH want to end their run on their terms and not the terms of people like Heyman and Lesnar. However, HHH could be facing the same fate as his friends Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels who both ended their in ring careers in WWE at WrestleMania events.”

Booker T’s Hall of Fame Induction: “Congrats to Booker T for being selected to be inducted into the all star, 2013 WWE Hall of Fame Class the night before WrestleMania at the sold out Madison Square Garden. After, self admittedly, making some serious mistakes as a young man, Booker Huffman has made some amazing life changes and is a success story that needs to be heard over and over again. Arguably, over the long haul, Booker T was WWE’s best ‘get’ from WCW when the Turner folks closed their doors. Whether it be wrestling, fan favorite or villain, utilizing scientific wrestling or brawling, cutting entertaining and compelling promos, doing commentary or representing WWE in a variety of ways, Booker has been at a main event level in every thing that he has been asked to do. Knowing Booker’s back story, I am so proud of him and use Book as an example to rookies on a regular basis. Booker and his lovely wife Sharmell are the parents of adorable twins, a son and a daughter, and are living the American dream. Well earned and it couldn’t happen to nicer people.”

WrestleMania Retrospective – WrestleMania VI (1990)

2

Here’s Part 6 of our WrestleMania Retrospective series, looking back at past WrestleMania events as we march towards WrestleMania 29 on April 7th.

WrestleMania VI (1990)
Tagline: The Ultimate Challange
Date: April 1, 1990
Venue: SkyDome Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Attendance: 67,678
O Canada: Robert Goulet

Aside its record-breaking attendance record, the event is arguably best remembered for “The Ultimate Challenge” – the main event match which saw Hulk Hogan (WWF Champion) vs The Ultimate Warrior (WWF Intercontinental Champion), in which both championship titles were on the line. On February 3, 1990, a week after Hogan and Warrior crossed paths in the 1990 Royal Rumble Match, Hogan put forth “The Ultimate Challenge” to the Warrior, and had to know whether Hulkamania or the power of the Warrior was the strongest force in the World Wrestling Federation.

On February 10th, the match was officially announced as the main event of WrestleMania VI by WWF President Jack Tunney. On February 24th, Tunney announced that both the WWF Championship and Intercontinental Championship would be on the line for the first-time ever during the match.

At WrestleMania VI, Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake was the first person to pin Mr. Perfect in a televised match, thus ending Perfect’s lengthy undefeated streak.

Reaction To CM Punk’s RAW Segment, Lilian Attends NBA Game (Picture) & More

89

– WWE will be holding a live event in Atlantic City, NJ on March 30th, the first WWE show there in five years. The main event will see John Cena teaming with Sheamus against The Shield. Both CM Punk and Rey Mysterio are still advertised for the show, but neither is expected to be there.

– There’s said to be some sort of issue right now between CM Punk and the WWE creative team. We’ll dig deeper into this story and post an update when it’s available.

Speaking of Punk, there were a lot of people not happy with his backstage segment at RAW where he used Paul Bearer’s urn to taunt The Undertaker [Watch Here]. While last week’s segments involving Punk referencing Paul Bearer were generally well received, the feeling is that last night segment was in bad taste.

RVD Talks About TNA vs. WWE, Life After TNA ,His Reputation, Negativity, Paying Dues & More

5

Former WWE Diva and TNA Knockout Shelly Martinez tries to #SaveWrestling, each and every Monday at 3:30ET/12:30PT worldwide in the VOC Nation Radio Network exclusively at Vocnation.com. This week Shelly talks to WWE/TNA/ECW legend Rob Van Dam in his first official interview since his TNA contract expired. Rob goes in depth with Shelly on his career, his aspirations in the performing arts, his beliefs on positive energy and attitude, and much more. Here are some highlights of what RVD said about:

RVD on his Reputation:

“Most people that know me, they seem to find pride in my balance. I’m often told that I’m the most laid back wrestler. That’s not true, but I love that I’m seen that way.”

Shelly on Meeting RVD and becoming friends:

“Back in the fake ECW days when you and I became friends, I got to know you behind the scenes and I wanted to be the female version of RVD. That inspired me, and I’ve applied that to not only my personal life, but in wrestling as well.”

RVD on Negativity:

“You look at all these miserable people that keep themselves in this negative spiral where they just focus on everything crappy that’s going on with them. They’re beating themselves up. You control what you think about. For me, it’s a conscious effort to think about thinks that put out a positive vibration. You can’t think good thoughts and feel bad, or think bad thoughts and feel good.”

RVD on Paying Dues in Wrestling:

“Traditionalism has its values, but I remember when I came in I was so uncomfortable. There is the food chain, the level of command. It’s like when someone beats their kids because their father did it to them. That’s the same flawed logic of the wrestlers that want to keep everyone down because that’s how they came up. My first few years in the business I felt so out of place; they had all these battle stories and I didn’t want them to know that I didn’t have all that experience.”

RVD on TNA vs WWE:

“I’ve been wrestling over 23 years and I just started feeling like I deserve to have respect over the last few years. TNA gave me first class treatment, and that was a big change from WWE. Even though I was in my mid-30s, I felt like the business was owned by the older people and they wanted to keep the younger people down and make them pay their dues, because that ‘s how they kept their position.”

RVD on Connecting with the Fans:

“When I wanted to be a wrestler when I was young, I didn’t think about the details that came along with the job. I took up kickboxing, and I practiced on a diving board, and I wanted to use all those moves that I learned in the ring. I didn’t think that I would ever be world champion, or that I would have so many fans that thought so much of me. A lot of the connection that I have with the fans comes from me being genuine. A lot of celebrities lose that connection, and I don’t understand that. I don’t know how to look at the fans like they’re a different species, and I will never understand that. I’m just a real guy.”

RVD on Traveling:

“The first few years of being on the road were easy, I loved it. It didn’t get hard for me until I went to Japan and started wrestling for All Japan. 15 day tours seemed like forever. Crappy truck stops, horrible food, it was horrible. I was so homesick.”

RVD on How to Live a Healthy Life:

“I have journalized meaningful coincidences in my life, and I study patterns among them so I can figure out my own spiritual path. I started doing this after reading a book called “The Celestine Prophecy.” It’s a fictional book, but it’s based around principles that I can relate to. That book changed my way of thinking. I realized that many people think and feel the way that I do, that we’re all supposed to be connected to this divine energy. To stay on your path, you have to operate at a positive frequency.”

RVD on Life After TNA:

“I’m working on my website http://www.platypiproductions.org where I sell cool catchy tee shirts and hats that preach non conformity. I want people to know that it’s ok to be themselves.”

News On Alberto Del Rio & Ricardo Rodriguez, Mysterio Starts Physical Therapy

13

– With World Heavyweight champion Alberto Del Rio starting to get over as a babyface, f4wonline.com reports that there are people within WWE that think Del Rio no longer needs Ricardo Rodriguez by his side. One has to question this line of thinking, as Ricardo is arguably more over than Del Rio.

After getting attacked by Jack Swagger on RAW and suffering a “broken ankle” (according to WWE), Ricardo is expected to be off television for a week to sell the injury.
