Steve Austin Speaks On The Shield Breaking Up, Offers Advice To John Cena, More

31

WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin was recently interviewed by AfterBuzzTV.com. Here are some highlights of what he said about:

The Shield Breking Up: “They’re gonna break up The Shield one of these days after these guys get a little more seasoned…The guys are still great in the business and they have wonderful potential.”

John Cena: “Here’s the thing about John Cena…that guy’s walking on the edge of a razor blade. Some people love to hate him, some people love to love him. But let me tell you something about John Cena; they all respect him. That guy has done a tremendous job for that company. He’s a guy that always shows up, he’ll work in pain, he always has a smile on his face. He goes to the nth degree to promote that brand. I’ve got nothing but respect for that guy. Really the way the fans take him. Some people say, ‘Would you please stop pushing this guy down our throat?’ But they’re not. He’s the face of the company. What do you do? Make number one the Blistering Heel? I tried that back in the day and I was Stone Cold. I was that grey area between black and white. Cena’s the face of the company, you don’t do that. When you turn down the cameras, the lights…he’s the face of the company. John Cena is a young veteran. He’s been in the ring, he’s told some great stories, he’s had a lot of high profile matches. He’s a young man, but he’s a veteran. You gotta work smarter, not harder. John, take care of your body.”

Getting back in the Gym following Surgery: “Right now I haven’t been workin’ out too much. I had a few set backs, but to answer your question [I work out] usually 5-6 days a week. Normally, I’m in there for about an hour and if things are going well I will add in 30 mins of cardio. I live about 2 miles from Gold’s [Gym]. I’ve been training there for many years, but I started training at a little hole in the wall place when I was healing up my shoulder a couple year’s ago.”

John Cena Comments On Baseball’s Latest PED Scandal & Says He’s Drug Free For Life

VIDEOS of John Cena’s INSANE Workout (Squat, Clean & Snatch)

WWE Superstar John Cena has chimed in on the news of Major League Baseball suspending Milwaukee Brewers player Ryan Braun without pay for the remainder of the 2013 season. The suspension is punishment for “violations of the Basic Agreement and its Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program,” according to a statement released by MLB.

Cena, who has long claimed that he’s never used performance enhancing drugs tweeted the following on Tuesday afternoon:

Jesse Sorensen Released From TNA

70

Jesse Sorensen has announced on Twitter that he’s no longer with TNA Wrestling.

https://twitter.com/TNASorensen/status/359685593212526592

Sadly, Sorensen is probably best remembered for breaking his neck during a match against Zema Ion last year. He had been working for TNA’s production department while he recovered and trained for an eventual return to the ring.

Earlier this year, Sorensen  appeared on the Busted Open satellite radio show and spoke about his paralysis and recovery. Here’s what Sorensen to hosts  Dave Lagreca and Doug Mortman about TNA supporting him during this very difficult time in his life:

“Dixie has, out of everybody, probably been the most amazing. She’s totally taken care of me. When she was in the hospital with me she was just like a mom. She was there before my mom was and was just there telling me everything’s going to be ok and totally took care of me. I mean, she was there from the time I got hurt, she was holding my hand right after I got paralyzed. Dixie has been absolutely amazing. Totally taken care of me and its cool because still to this day some people are like, ‘are you going to wrestle? Are you not?’ Dixie always tells me, ‘I know you’re going to wrestle again. I know it’s going to happen.’ So she’s been very positive. So has everyone else at TNA. All the boys, they’re like, ‘I can’t wait till you come back and wrestle,’ even if we don’t know I can. It’s been really cool. Everybody’s been very supportive, which was cool because I hadn’t been in TNA that long and I was just always a shy kid so I didn’t make a whole lot of friends while I was at TNA. I had the guys I hung out with but it was cool because I got really close to a lot of people after this happened.”

… and to think, before becoming President of TNA, Dixie Carter ran a Public Relations firm! Unreal.

Here are some Twitter reactions to TNA firing Jesse Sorensen:

Jim Ross Blog: Daniel Bryan’s Big Night, Punk-Heyman, Bryan vs. Cena

6

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. In this installment, JR talks about Monday’s WWE RAW from Austin, Texas. Here are some highlights of what he said about:

Daniel Bryan’s Performance On RAW: Daniel Bryan was the star of Monday Night RAW and his in ring work the last 40 minutes are so was the most memorable piece of business on the three hour broadcast. Bryan has gotten over with the fan base the most natural way possible akin to a dark horse candidate winning a major election while running as an independent. Grass roots all the way for ‘Fear the Beard.’

Bryan vs. Cena at SummerSlam: “For any one to armchair book and think that Daniel Bryan cannot or will not beat John Cena for the WWE Title because of Bryan’s physical stature or his ‘look’ I’d advise you to think again. I’d also suggest that John Cena will have one of the best matches of his entire career come Summer Slam in LA.”

CM Punk & Paul Heyman’s Segment: “The CM Punk/ Paul Heyman promo segment on RAW was stellar. It sound PPV’s and Punk, especially, came off as very real, extremely organic and NOT playing the role of a wrestler with a cause. Punk had filter free emotion and I believed every word that he said. Seriously, @CMPunk is not afraid of Brock Lesnar adn their match, their first to my knowledge, at Summer Slam has me very intrigued. Curious as to the strategy, where it is on the card, what has to follow it, and, obviously, the outcome. For some reason, just an assumption, I could see a serious of matches between these two, gifted athletes who both carry ample levels of self confidence and defiance into the ring with time out. Time will tell.”

Ultimate Warrior Posts Long Message To Vince McMahon, Teases WWE Return

24

The following is a new message written by The Ultimate Warrior in response to Vince McMahon welcoming him back to WWE recently. Warrior wrote:

“@VinceMcMahon Vince, thank you for your personal welcome back to the WWE Universe. It is noted and appreciated. All the Warriors of Parts Unknown take pride in being one of the original galaxies of the Universe you created. Not one of my days has passed without a flashback to my time in the business and my relationship with you. After 17 years of battling one another, perhaps the stars have finally aligned and Destiny is prepared to tell one of Sports Entertainment’s greatest stories: how two of the industry’s most determined, colorful, intense and explosive personalities brought to life a persona that made such an inspiring impression that it still captures the hearts and minds of fans all over the world, even all these years later. I am proud Ultimate Warrior is an iconic, immortal spirit in the Universe you created. I know, Vince McMahon, you are proud, too. The inhabitants of your WWE Universe believe your personal welcome is an invitation of sorts. If so, consider this my RSVP with one condition. Wisdom takes a seat at the table with us when we meet, but we each also leave unburied a slight edge of the hatchet we’ve carried over the years. that other gutless and heartless God-fearing men urge us to lay to rest forever. Face it, neither one of us were ever any good at being bored or boring others. So coming prepared to kill one another makes for a interesting backup plan. Always Believe, Warrior “

He puts over his decision to let John Cena pick his SummerSlam opponent and says tonight, we’re going to the see the official contract signing. Maddox introduces WWE Champion John Cena.

Bryan comes out and the crowd chants YES! at him during his entrance and when he gets into the ring.

The crowd chants “Daniel Bryan!” as he starts to think. Maddox asks Bryan why he thinks John Cena picked him as his opponent. John Cena says Maddox should be man enough to ask him himself. Cena says Daniel Bryan’s size is not a factor in their match. Cena names Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero that proved ability and passion make a WWE Champion – not just size or strength. A loud “Eddie!” chant breaks out.

Cena admits the WWE Universe loves him – but he chose him because he earned it and he deserved it. Being a WWE Champion is about facing the best possible competition at all times – and sometimes, that comes from an unlikely source. Mark Henry comes out and says he’s proud to be from Texas. He grew up down the street and he’s proud of the effort he put into his match against John Cena. But he’s not proud about what happened last week when he was assaulted by the Shield. Any man that takes a whooping like the one he took is willing to give one out. He’s right here if the Shield wants a piece of him. The Shield’s music hits and they come to the ring through the crowd. The Shield attacks Henry, who is outnumbered. Backstage, Triple H confronts Brad Maddox. Triple says Maddox doesn’t think Daniel Bryan is big or strong enough or championship material. Triple H says it sounds like the “old man” is putting words in mouth. He thinks Daniel Bryan could be the future of WWE – and it doesn’t matter what Brad Maddox tries throwing at Daniel Bryan right now. Triple H walks away and Stephanie McMahon enters. She tells Maddox that she has a big idea from Vince that she’s going to reveal to him soon.

At ringside, the announcers talk about the Wyatt Family and we get a look back at their past 2 weeks on RAW.

Fandango vs. Cody Rhodes

Damien Sandow is ringside on commentator. Footage is shown from SmackDown where Rhodes attacked Sandow. Winner: Cody Rhodes:

Up Next: CM Punk addresses Brock Lesnar attacking him last week on RAW.

CM Punk comes down to the ring. Brock Lesnar is a beast and kicked his ass last week. But no matter how tough Lesnar is and how hurt he was after last week’s attack, he got up. His whole body is banged up – but he’s still standing. Brock Lesnar can beat him down – but Brock Lesnar can’t keep him all. Punk runs down Lesnar’s many accomplishments – and says being UFC Champion may have been the most impressive of them all. Throughout it all – Lesnar’s biggest strength hasn’t been his physical prowess or his fighting skil. His #1 strength will always be – fear. Punk tells WWE.com and WWE Magazine that they’ve got their next big breaking story. He’s not afraid of Brock Lesnar. Now let’s talk about Paul Heyman. Paul Heyman made the wrong decision at Money in the Bank – and he’s going to make Paul Heyman regret that every day for the rest of his life. Punk says he owns that ring and a loud CM PUNK! chant breaks out. CM Punk says that at SummerSlam, he wants “The Best vs. The Beast.”

Heyman appears on the big screen and says he loves the sound of The Best vs. The Beast. Heyman runs down the state of Texas. Heyman asks CM Punk if he refuses to stay down because he’s a coward or because he’s a fool. Punk says he’ll answer that question for him and his client at SummerSlam. Punk doesn’t believe that Heyman is really appearing “Live Via Satellite.” Heyman repeats that it was THEM who were WWE Champion for 434 days, not just CM Punk. Paul Heyman says Punk’s challenge to Brock Lesnar for a match at Summerslam. He tells Punk to stop calling the match “The Best vs. The Beast” because The Beast is The Best. Punk’s music hits and the segment ends.

Rob Van Dam is shown warming up backstage and he’ll be in action next.
