Antonio Cesaro Interview: His Success In WWE, Young Talent, WM29 & More
WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro appeared on the “Busted Open” Sirius/XM satellite radio to hype Sunday’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view PPV:
His Match with The Miz At Elimination Chamber:
“Well, Elimination Chamber is the last stop, PPV stop before Wrestlemania, before the big one April 7. And this road to Wrestlemania is always very exciting for the fans and for the superstars as well because everybody tries to get on a roll, everyone tries to build up steam for Wrestlemania and the last PPV to make an impact or a statement is Elimination Chamber. So, of course, everybody wants to give that PPV his stamp. I’m very excited to be facing The Miz again. I don’t even know if he’ll be showing up after what I did to him on Monday. But I’m a fighting champion, I would look forward to defending my championship and, as you said earlier, all my stuff is usually very exciting to watch. The fans can expect a great PPV. There’s also going be, of course, the Elimination Chamber matchup itself, which is always very unpredictable featuring Randy Orton, Jack Swagger, Chris Jericho, Kane, Daniel Bryan and Mark Henry. You can’t predict a winner there because it’s so hard and the chamber it just adds a complete different dynamic to it. And of course you have CM punk versus The Rock for the championship, and The Shield versus Cena, Ryback and Sheamus. And this is only Shield’s second sanctioned match in WWE and if you had seen the first one, you know what those guys are capable of doing. And of course, you have Antonio Cesaro on the PPV so it’s going to be very exciting. ”
Being Excited For WrestleMania 29:
“I’m kind of a day to day kind of guy. I don’t think that far ahead. What I think about is next, Elimination Chamber and defending my United States Championship. Definitely my goal is to still be United States Champion come Wrestlemania and to defend that championship at Wrestlemania, because when I won the United States Championship I said that I was going to bring prestige back to the United States Championship, which I definitely did, I’m currently the longest reigning champion in WWE right now. And everbody knows the United States Champion means business and the United States Championship is very prestigious at this point. So like I said, I only look forward to the next event and try to keep my championship there; it’s definitely going to be exciting once Wrestlemania comes closer.”
Why He Doesn’t Sleep On A Bed:
“I’m very disciplined and I was in the Swiss Army, I grew up in Switzerland which is a very dedicated country to begin with. A couple of years ago we had a vote on if you want to have mandatory 6 weeks instead of 5 weeks vacation a year and the whole country voted no, we only want 5 weeks, which speaks for the discipline and the work ethic of Swiss people. To me, serving in the force represent that I’m not going to go soft and that’s exactly what I think is the problem in America.”
Being One Of WWE’s Top Breakout Stars:
“It’s been a great year, no doubt, but I’m never really happy, I’m always hungry for more, and I think that’s what fuels me and also helps my success. I definitely had a great year, you saw me when I came into WWE with Aksana and then winning the United States Championship for Santino at Summer Slam was definitely a turning point for me and my career and I’ve just been on fire, if I may say so myself, ever since and I’m really looking forward to see what the future holds.”
The New Blood That’s Changing The Face of WWE:
“It’s great and refreshing to see. I always welcome new competition or new victims. It’s very exciting for the fans and the WWE universe to see fresh faces. Look at The Shield, they made a huge impact right away and it’s definitely so much fun, for me, its so much fun to watch them just beat people up and [they’re] just completely unpredictable and that unpredicatability is actually their advantage. They’re a team; it’s like the Four Horsemen or Freebirds or even NWO when they started. It’s a close knit unit and the good thing about those guys is they really are a close knit unit and I don’t see anybody else joining them, which is great because they’re really strong as a team, and they’re strong as a team in any combination.”

So, we rolled up, and the victim comes out, and he starts staring at me, and he’s like, ‘Wait a minute, this is going to sound crazy, but aren’t you David Otunga?’ And, I’m like, ‘Yeah.’ And he’s like, ‘I watch you on WWE every week! Wait a minute; what are you doing with the cops? Are you a cop now?'”

Bully Ray Talks About Being A Babyface & Working With Hulk Hogan
TNA star Bully Ray was recently interview by the UK’s The Sun newspaper. Here are some highlights of what Bully said about:
Working As A Babyface After Being A Heel For Years:
“You guys in the press like to use words like heel, babyface, good guy and bad guy. I’m not a heel and I’m not a babyface. I’m not a good guy and I’m not a bad guy. I’m me. Whatever me is at the time is what I am. The difference between me and everyone else is that if you like me, you really, really, really like me. You love me. But if you hate me, you despise me. I guess that’s a win-win for everybody.
“You’ve never seen me change who I am out there in that wrestling ring. I don’t wrestle differently, I don’t talk differently. I don’t beg the people for approval and I don’t beg them to hate me. I just am who I am. They can make the decisions.”
What It’s Like To Work with Hulk Hogan:
“I have done so much and been in the ring with so many of the greats. However, when you grow up in New York City, and you were force-fed WWF for as long as I did, and you remember the first day Hulk Hogan showed up on your television set. You remember HulkaMania happening and evolving in your back yard. Hulk Hogan paved the way for everybody. There’s a respect level that comes with working with Hulk Hogan. He’s The Beatles of our business.
“I don’t care if you think he’s not the ‘greatest pro wrestler’ in the world. Who gives a s*** if he can’t reverse an armbar? You didn’t pay money to see Hulk Hogan reverse armbars or do arm drags. You paid to be entertained by him, to see him Hulk up, do a big boot and a legdrop.”
WrestleMania 30 Location Update, Miz Talks About Being A Babyface
– WWE superstar The Miz spoke to New Orleans’ Times-Picayune newspaper this week to promote Sunday’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. When asked what’s it’s like to play a babyface in WWE after spending years as a villain, The Miz said:
“The funny thing is that I never changed. To me, I’ve never been bad or good. I’ve always been The Miz. I’m used to people booing me and telling me I suck. Now, they’re chanting I’m awesome, but I’ll take it.”
To read the full interview, head over to NOLA.com.

WWE Looks At 14 Stars You Didn’t Know Appeared In The Company
The official WWE website has published an article highlighting 14 notable talents you may not have known appeared for the sports-entertainment organization. This list features talent who made limited or “one night only” appearances in WWE; Crowbar, The Public Enemy, Baron Von Raschke, Great Sasuke, Kevin Von Erich, Kevin Sullivan, KroniK, Tony Schiavone, The Fabulous Freebirds, Tiger Mask, The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, Buff Bagwell, Greg Gagne
Also noted is current TNA Wrestling star Samoa Joe, who competed as an enhancement wrestler on an episode of WWE Jakked in March 2001. WWE says of the burly grappler, “Samoa Joe became an icon on the independent wrestling scene throughout much of the 2000s by treating his opponents’ heads like they were soccer balls. A rival of both Daniel Bryan and CM Punk during their early years with the Ring of Honor promotion, the hard-hitting Samoan even battled Kenta Kobashi in the Japanese icon’s most famous North American match.”
“Joe earned his ardent fan base the hard way. But before he compelled supporters to chant “You’re going to get your head kicked in!” at his shaken opponents, the near 300-pounder made a sole WWE appearance in March 2001. Competing on WWE Jakked only a few years into his career, a young Joe struggled against former WWE Light Heavyweight Champion Essa Rios in an inauspicious national debut. The burly Samoan would go on to kick the teeth out of every major independent wrestler around, but he would not be seen in WWE again.”
Here’s a WWE video of Samoa Joe’s appearance on Jakked:

Mick Foley Talks CM Punk Feud, His Relationship With Vince, Undertaker’s Streak & More
Future WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley was interviewed by Inside The Ropes this week. Here are some highlights of what Foley said about:
Being A Comedy Character In WWE:
I’m gonna have to disagree with you there for a moment, I think the stuff I did with CM Punk was not comedy based at all. I thought that was probably the most effective way I could be used and can be used in future. If I Have a serious difference of opinion with somebody, you know I’ll never again have the physical threat of resolving my differences with someone in the ring but I think once a year, I’m good for a couple of good promos. In a way I didn’t think I would be until I did those promos with Punk.
His Program With CM Punk Ending So Soon:
Well again, you can’t really take it any further unless there’s gonna be a resolution in the ring. I was very happy, I think I had 3 big promos with punk and I really enjoyed it and believe me, I had a christmas book out at the time and I had to fight the urge to take the book out under my arm but I knew it wasn’t right for the promo. I enjoyed it and I look forward in the future to doing it once a year or so, in limited doses.
Why His Relationship With Vince McMahon Isn’t Great:
Well I think two thing happened. One, after I bowed out of the WrestleMania match with Vince in 2001, that’s kinda like the boy who cried wolf, you know, I said I would, I said I wouldn’t and then I didn’t do it. In 2001, I was convinced I’d never have another match again. Obviously that was kinda dumb because I’ve had many matches since then with most of them not being anywhere near that level of magnitude. I could’ve made a lot of money and I don’t think I would’ve hurt the relationship.
Then once I became the guy that almost left, then did leave, let me put it this way, I still don’t feel like I can go into Vince’s office and take free food. I just don’t feel like I can do that anymore. For 3 years, I knew that whenever Vince went to the broadcast booth it was my time to have a fillet or 3 or more.
The Undertaker’s WrestleMania Undefeated Streak:
I just think going 20-0 is the way to end the streak. I think he ended at an amazing last match, the number 20 has an allure and an appeal that numbers 21 22, 23 and 24 don’t and at this point I don’t know if there’s that opponent. He’s basically had all the matches, he’s had all the payoffs to the matches with history. The one guy that could get people interested is Punk.

Kevin Nash Responds To DDP Reaching Out To Scott Hall
Kevin Nash has responded to the news that his friend Scott Hall has once again agreed to join Diamond Dallas Page’s Accountability Crib in an effort to get sober and clean up his life.
Page released an emotional video on Wednesday of his and Jake Roberts’ phone conversation with Hall, where Hall claimed several times, “I’m dying. I’m dying.” and said he was consuming large quantities of vodka.
Having known Scott Hall for 20+ years and seeing his self destruction up close and person, Kevin Nash is not so sure that Hall will be able to turn himself around like Jake Roberts did. He tweeted:
“I love everyone telling me about what Scott needs. Been dealing with this for 20 years. Scott will get healthy when Scott wants to. Period.”
Nash says this is not the first time Scott Hall has agreed to visit DDP’s accountability crib and he’ll believe it when he sees it:
“Scott told everyone 2 months ago he was going to DDP’S going to be there that weekend.Show me the tape when he walks in the door.”
Nash says DDP’s yoga program sounds great, but the abuse that Hall has done to his body requires professional detox under the care of medical personnel:
“Does anyone realize Scott will die if not taken to a hospital and clinically detoxed? You f*cking idiots. Yoga great. 20 years of abuse?”
He’s also not happy that DDP captured Hall at his lowest for the world to see and questions whether Hall knew his phone call would be posted on Youtube for the world to hear:
“Did Scott know he was on that call live, that’s f*cked up. I would never have my friend saying over and over he lives on vodka, don’t work for me.”
“This is my friends life, not a PSA.You want the truth it’s not for you to know.”
Several of the tweets were later deleted.
