Here’s the audio:
The recent accusations and subsequent reports by Connecticut-based media that WWE (NYSE:WWE) was “caught” not paying taxes is blatantly false. Publicly traded companies often review taxes with regulatory authorities.
With regard to this recent and specific tax inquiry, WWE believed it should be classified under the single-factor approach to calculating its taxes based on the language of a statute that specifies the approach for businesses whose primary function is broadcasting activity.
WWE and the state agreed that the correct application of the statute to WWE was a bifurcated method with both approaches applying to different parts of its business.
As a result of the agreement, WWE paid the state approximately $500,000 annually over and above what WWE already had paid for the years 2005 through 2010, plus interest, and both WWE and the state have agreed to the bifurcated methodology moving forward.
Since 1982, WWE has grown from 12 employees to more than 700. WWE has paid $600 million dollars in wages to employees in Connecticut and $55 million in payroll and other taxes over the past ten years.
By any set of standards, WWE is an exemplary, CT-based, publicly traded corporation.
On the issue of tax credits, WWE has a responsibility to its shareholders to apply for tax credits when possible. When WWE launches its network (estimated to employ an additional 200 people), we hope to be considered for Governor Malloy’s Next Five Program, which provides additional economic assistance to companies like WWE.

I AM WELL AND HAPPY! LOOKING FORWARD TO A NEW CHAPTER IN MY LIFE! SOMEDAY ILL FIND HAPPINESS IN A RELATIONSHIP AGAIN….THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT! ESPECIALLY THANKS TO THE WWE! LOVE YOU!”

– Speaking to WWE Magazine, AJ Lee was asked what’s the best piece of advice she was given in regards to becoming General Manager of Raw. She reveals it came from another powerful woman.
“I think it’s to realize that I’m the boss—and Stephanie McMahon actually told me that. She said, “You’re in charge now, and no on can take that from you. You have to believe in that, within yourself, or no one else will,” said Lee. “For her to say drink it up, you’re in charge, and everybody has to deal with that—well, it really means a lot coming from Stephanie because I look up to her in so many ways.”
– Leading up to SummerSlam, WWE Games had an incredible opportunity to chat with the legendary Texas Rattlesnake, WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin. Aubrey Sitterson went into the interview with a list of questions for the iconic Superstar, including his thoughts on WWE ’13, the “Attitude Era” and current WWE Champion CM Punk. Unfortunately, things took a different spin, as Austin took issue with Sitterson’s line of questions, tone and pretty much everything about the hapless WWE Games Community Manager.

– The official WWE website has added Raven to its Alumni section. Goldberg addressed comments made by Ryback in WWE Magazine when he joined Washington Redskins defensive end and weight loss champion Chuck Carroll on 4th & Pain this week.
The comments begin around the 8:30 mark in the video and last for about five minutes.
During the WWE Magazine interview, Ryback said comparisons between the two don’t bother him, but that “people are misinformed.”
“People see a big guy with a shaved head who’s intense, and they draw those comparisons,” said Ryback. “I will say this: Goldberg did this for the money. He was never a fan of wrestling. I do this because I have a passion for it, and that’s the biggest difference between Goldberg and me. I’m not here to make five million dollars and then walk away. I’m here for life. And, I firmly believe that I’m much better than he was in the ring. He was great, and I was a fan of his when I was younger. But, I feel I’m a better athlete and wrestler than Goldberg ever was, and people are going to see that over time.”
Goldberg said in response, “I’m flattered that throughout his rise people have been chanting my name. I don’t think it’s a knock on him whatsoever. ”
“I take no offense to it. To be compared against a guy right now who is (going for a title) … who hopefully will be a major superstar for these guys is kind of flattering.”
“For people to still be chanting my name six years, seven years, eight years removed from the business—that’s a huge honor. Any comparisons in the positive note is a honor for me.”
Goldberg also made his weekly NFL picks with the show. Listeners can pick with Goldberg and the show at 4thAndPain.com.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what JR said about:
His Status When Lawler Returns: “The Nashville Raw ran smoothly for Cole and me at the announce table. Our two man chemistry is evolving nicely as I keep @Jerry Lawler’s seat warm for his return which I assume will likely be sometime before the end of the year. I haven’t heard an exact date as that decision will be left up completely to the medical people. I’m assuming that King will return and take his seat next to Cole and that JBL (@JCLayfield) will continue to work with Josh Mathews on Friday Night Smackdown but that’s simply one man’s observation. ”
Dolph Ziggler Channeling Shawn Michaels: “It seems like more and more each week that @HeelZiggler aka Dolph Ziggler is taking on more of the personality traits of @ShawnMichaels had back in the day. I’m not saying that Ziggler is going to surpass arguably the greatest in ring performer ever but if one had to pick a guy to study and to emulate to a certain degree then Ziggler has picked the right guy. Showoff equates to Showstopper as Dolph and Shawn have similar athletic traits and confident attitude. As Ziggler continues to become more natural on the MIC the comparisons will likely grow.”
Ryback vs. CM Punk At HIAC: “Ryback vs. CM Punk in the main event inside HIAC in Atlanta is something that I never foresaw coming this quickly but I’;m excited to see the bout. I have no preconceived notion of how it will go but my guts say it won’t be a scientific masterpiece but will be physical, straightforward and smash mouth.”
“The Raw broadcast this Monday should tell us even more about this matchup. Certainly Ryback is on a roll, has yet to lose or to ever compete inside Hell in a Cell so this main event has several viable unanswered questions that, as a fan, I like.”
WWE.com caught up with Kofi Kingston after his title win on Main Event and said The Miz talking trash about him on RAW brought out a different side of him that led him to victory. Kofi said there are so many legends who have carried the white Intercontinental Title belt andhe’s ready to continue the legacy.

Other matches for this weekend’s RAW live events are Sin Cara vs. Antonio Cesaro and WWE Tag Champions Kane & Daniel Bryan vs. Primo & Epico.
– WWE Divas Champion Eve Torres recently spoke to WithLeather.Uproxx.com about the current state of WWE’s Divas division:
“We never really know what they’re thinking. As much as people think we really know what’s going on, we really don’t. On Mondays at 4:00 p.m., half the time I have no idea what’s going on. Right now, we have a great group of girls – hungry girls – who all want to contribute to the Divas division. That’s what I really care about. Obviously, I’m delighted that I’m part of an interesting storyline, but whatever I can do to help this division and get it back on top is just something that I – and all of the other girls – am willing to do, whether that means helping new talent that comes up or re-polishing the talent that already exists on the roster.”
– Here’s footage of Kofi Kingston, R-Truth and Alicia Fox hosting an anti-bullying rally in Memphis on Tuesday:

I will continue to travel a couple days a week for wrestling, but I will be in the restaurant several days a week.”
When asked how much longer she plans to wrestle, she said, “I get the ‘how much longer’ question in every interview nowadays. I get it. I’m 41 in an industry where girls breaking in are half my age. My perspective is, I feel great, I think I look great, I put on outstanding matches for the fans, I bring out the best in my opponents, and most importantly, I am having a blast.”

Brodus Clay was recently interviewed by Reyan Ali of Connecticut’s CT.com to promote WWE’s upcoming RAW World Tour live event this Sunday (10/21) at the XL Center in Hartford. Clay talks about who he travels with (Santino and Alex Riley), what Santino is like away from the ring, how he was discovered by Tommy Dreamer, what it was like to have Snoop Dogg as a boss, what his childhood was like, his current interests, and what the previous names and ideas for the Funkasaurus gimmick were.
Here are some highlights:
Q: You’ve talked before about Saddle Ranch, a restaurant in Los Angeles, where important stories involving Snoop Dogg and former WWE wrestler Tommy Dreamer took place. Were you working security or just happened to be there?
A: I was a bodyguard for the owner of the establishment. It used to be pretty crazy nights at the Universal location — 13, 1400 people. Girls dance on the stage. Pretty much everybody when they came to LA usually wanted to find out where Saddle Ranch was at — celebrities and stuff.
Brodus Clay Working As Snoop Dogg’s Bodyguard
Snoop’s people saw me there and offered me a job. Fortunately, Tommy Dreamer observed me breaking up a fight and doing it very Funkasaurus-like. I’m not gonna tease ya — they weren’t big guys so it wasn’t like feats of incredible human strength or an awesome karate fight scene from a movie. They were about as big as my leg, and I picked ’em up like suitcases and carried ’em out, but I made jokes while I did it. [Tommy] told me I should do that on TV, which I thought was hilarious. I had already tried a few times to get into wrestling and it didn’t really work out. It was kind of funny — I had all but given up. I was bodyguarding. At the same time, I was working with kids during the day. I worked at Five Acres, where I was a recreation therapist during the day. I worked with 6-, 7- and 8-year-olds on motor development, trying to teach ’em how to be kids again.
Q: There was a period in late 2011 where they frequently referenced your impending arrival, but it kept getting delayed. Was it a situation where the delay was planned or your future was in possible jeopardy?
A:” My future? No, I don’t think so. [Chris] Jericho’s imminent return was coming, Kane’s return was coming, The Rock was coming. There were so many other things going on. In the meantime, there were these two personas that I have that are very much who I am. I’m literally split down the middle. I can either be the funniest guy in the room and life of the party, but I also can be the most uncomfortable-looking dude in the room at the same time. [With] the two personas I have, [the creative team] were really just trying to figure out, ‘Which one should he show the world?’ I’m glad [for] the wisdom that I didn’t necessarily understand at the time. Looking back, it was the right decision.”
Q: Did you come up with the Funkasaurus idea or did somebody else pitch it to you?
A: “Actually, the original nickname that I was told — it scared me to death — was Heavy G. I think the last thing you want to be known as is Heavy anything. No offense to Heavy D — rest his soul. Worked for him, wasn’t really my bag. Rob MacIntyre, who I trained with, was a big reason behind me dropping me a hundred and 50 pounds. Him and I were lifting weights and making jokes, trying to figure out better names. First it was the Funk Monster and then Funk Nasty. Then, he looked at me and [said], ‘Funkasaurus’ and started laughing, and he pitched it.”
The writer was like, ‘I’ll get ready [your] debut. What are we going to call you?’ I was like, ‘I don’t want to be Heavy G.’ He was like, ‘Look, man, I’ve got like 12 other things to do. Just call yourself whatever you want to call yourself’ so I told the announcer to call me the Funkasaurus. He looked at me like I was crazy. I’m like, ‘I don’t know why I want to be the Funkasaurus.’ So I got lucky that the swamped writer had other things going on. Luckily, it stuck.”

“He’s having sex with another man’s wife in another man’s home,” said Stratcher. “I’m not sure it’s reasonable to say he has an expectation of privacy under the circumstances.”

* Howard said all of Bubba’s friends know that his house has cameras. Stern joked the reason he never went to Bubba’s was becuse he knew he’d get caught on tape .. pleasuring himself and then that tape would get out.
