Fred Durst Apologizes For Making Obscene Gesture At SummerSlam, WWE Issues Statement

According to TMZ.com, Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst was not escorted out of the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California, the venue for WWE’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event Sunday night, by security personnel after flipping the bird while being shown live on camera prior to the main event match-up between Brock Lesnar and Triple H. Rather, he left the main arena to apologize to WWE producers for his action.

A WWE spokesman tells TMZ, “The reports are 100% FALSE. The “Limp Bizkit” frontman didn’t get the boot, he just felt so bad following the incident, he immediately went backstage to apologize for his actions.”

The spokesman also notes, “We appreciate Fred’s apology. However, we take our family-friendly environment very seriously and this was a violation of that. We sincerely apologize to our fans.”

Durst had claimed on Twitter that he wanted to beat traffic following the show, writing, “I was leaving to beat the traffic! Haha, security escorting me out?? WWE is family. hahaha. Is this really a rumor? Amazing. My boys at WWE are cracking up! Note- never leave early to beat traffic!”

Former WWE superstar Chris Masters Tweeted a photo on Sunday afternoon that got a lot of people questioning his mental state and his well being.

Masters tweeted a shirtless picture of himself holding a gun to his head with the caption, “My only fear of death reincarnation!” If holding a gun to his head isn’t a bad enough sign, he was also holding a drink in his other hand, which could mean he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the stunt. – Triple H got emotional after losing to Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, telling the live crowd, “I’m sorry” as Michael Cole speculated whether we’ve seen the last of Triple H.

After returning from his 60-day WWE suspension, WWE was considering adding Orton to the Sheamus vs. Alberto World Heavyweight title match, but the feeling was that the match didn’t need the extra star power (due to it not being one of the top matches on the card) and WWE went with the WWE title match being a triple threat match instead.

Even though he just returned to television, Orton will likely take some time off soon to begin filming the WWE Studios movie, “12 Rounds: Reloaded.”

– Mick Foley spent about an hour telling stories of his experiences on the road.

– Foley took several shots at TNA and Al Snow, a longtime target of his jokes.

– The show was to raise money for the RAAIN charity and Foley announced they raised around $3,000 from the show.

– Foley invited William Regal on stage to tell stories.

– During an interview with the Los Angeles Times, The Miz revealed that WWE has begun voice-over work for the company’s new Scooby Doo movie, due out in 2014:

“I just did voice-over work for it [last week], and it was fun. But, you know what is weird about that? You are doing voice-overs, and you are just standing there with a microphone. To get you into the character, like say my character was running, then I would be running in place next to the microphone. It doesn’t look that cool. WWE.com is reporting that Triple H suffered a broken arm at the hands of Brock Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam. An article at WWE.com speculates that Triple H’s arm was broken by Lesnar’s Kimura lock and also states:

“It has also been released that The King of Kings broke his left arm in the same place that he did when Brock attacked him of the April 30 episode of Raw, an assault that lit the fuse on their tremendous rivalry. Although Triple H had initially refused medical attention last night, an examination this morning confirmed the severity of the injury.”

– Speaking to WWE Magazine, Tensai admits to being disillusioned when he restarted his pro graps career in Japan in 2005 after being released from his WWE contract the previous year.

“Truthfully, when I came to Japan from WWE for the first time, I wasn’t enjoying what I had always dreamt that I’d be doing. I thought I was doing the right thing with WWE the first time around, but I wasn’t,” Tensai said. “I was really down on the whole thing, and then I got an offer in Japan. It was always on my bucket list. So first I toured there and had my first match with Kensuke, who was a really well-respected individual in Japan. It was just awesome. It reminded me that I love what I do. I want to be one of the best big guys to come out of Japan. I know I finally have the respect of the people that I’ve worked with, and that’s what matters.”

– World Heavyweight champion Sheamus retained his title in controversial fashion at WWE SummerSlam. After hitting Alberto Del Rio in the head with Ricardo Rodriguez’ shoe, Sheamus pinned Del Rio 1-2-3. Del Rio had his foot on the ropes – but the referee didn’t see it and Sheamus was awarded the victory.

Del Rio has now filed a formal complaint with SmackDown General Manager Booker T. The WWE website spoke with referee Mike Chioda and he admitted the mistake. Booker T will address the situation on Friday’s SmackDown, which will likely lead to a rematch.

Following a flight from Las Vegas, Nevada to San Antonio, Texas on August 5, Mendes, whose real name is Milena Roucka, contacted the San Antonio Police Department to file battery charges against boyfriend and former WWE talent Steven Slocum for an apparent domestic issue that took place prior to her flight. Police on the scene took photos of Roucka’s body, which showed scratches and bruising from the incident. Roucka was absent from Raw the following night and was presumably given time off to recover from the ordeal.
