Update On Sunny’s 3 Arrests & Latest Rehab Stint

9

Following her three arrests last week, WWE Hall of Famer Tammy” Sunny” was released from jail in Connecticut and shed some light on what led to her attacking her boyfriend, independent wrestler Damien Darling:

“Cheat on a good woman, You get choked out.”

Sytch also wrote that she was contacted by the Dr. Phil Show to “tell her story”, and followed that up with “decision, decisions.” Those messages were later deleted and she asked people to please respect her privacy.

Sytch posted a message to Darling’s Facebook page saying that she still loves him. Awwww.

WWE issued a statement last week that they will once again pay for Sunny to be sent to rehab, the fourth time they’ve done so.

Matt Morgan Crashes Another TNA Live Event, Kurt Angle Working Injured

9

– Matt Morgan crashed another TNA live event this weekend from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Morgan came down through the crowd during a match between Miss Tessmacher and Tara, arguing with Atlas Security before taking a seat at ringside.

Later in the evening, Morgan got physical after the Jeff Hardy vs. James Storm match ended in a time limit draw. As fans were chanting for the match to continue, Morgan leveled referee Brian Stifler with his Carbon Footprint kick. Morgan got a huge pop from the crowd and was removed from the arena by security.

– Kurt Angle worked the Wilkes-Barre, PA Show and wrestled twice, despite an injury to either his knee or his hamstring (there are conflicting reports on this). Angle worked a short match against Daniels early in the night and teamed with AJ Styles and Austin Aries in the main event against Bobby Roode, Daniels and Kazarian. AJ Styles and Austin Aries helped Angle to the back after the match and Angle did not take part in the post-show autograph signing event, as advertised.

Angle tweeted on Monday:

TNA star Brooke Hogan has a dramatically new look, announcing on Twitter:

Kurt Angle On Whether Austin Aries Is To Small To Be TNA Champion & More

3

Kurt Angle recently spoke to ChadDukesWrestlingShow.com about whether he’s still interested in MMA, helping young talent get over, whether Austin Aries is too small to be TNA World champion & more. Here are some highlights of what Angle said about:

Whether he’s still interested in competing in mixed martial arts: “The last time I talked was two and a half years ago with Dana White, I took the UFC physical. We just couldn’t come to terms on a starting time. I wanted it 3-6 months, Dana needed me in four and a half weeks and I understand he wanted me to be ready and he needed me at that point and it just wasn’t gonna work out.”

When asked whether White had an opponent in mind for Angle, he responded, “Well, they wanted me to be on Ultimate Fighter but I told them I wouldn’t do it for free. So he came up with a very nice deal, that being I would get paid very well for that, thank god, and a 6 fight deal. I didn’t want to go in there half prepared. I wanted to go in there full blown. I’m 43 now, I tried out for the Olympics or I was going to and I got injured five different times last year. So my body’s just not holding up the way I want it to so I don’t think it’s going to be a possibility.”

On being the go-to guy in assisting new talent in getting over: “I really enjoyed it, I took it as a compliment. At TNA they did the same thing. They’d bring in somebody like the Pope or Mr. Anderson or whoever else that was coming in that was coming from WWE or had somewhat of a name, the first program they’d do would be with me. I’ve always enjoyed that it’s a good challenge and Desmond Wolfe was another one that came from Ring of Honor. So I like that and I know that the company has faith in me. Both WWE did and TNA had the faith in me to make the guys look as good as I could.”

Whether Austin Aries is too small to be TNA World Heavyweight Champion: “No. I think Austin Aries as champion, I think he deserves it, he’s an awesome talent. Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero, unfortunately their tragedies really damaged the ability for smaller guys to step up and become champions. I don’t know why but I think they were just unfortunate. I don’t think it was because of their size, I think they were just terrible tragedies that happened with both those families and it’s gotten a little bit of a bad reputation now, the under 6 foot club and I don’t think it should be that way. I think any size is a good size.”

Orton tweeted this on Sunday night after the PPV:

Jerry Lawler’s WWE Future, WWE Ref Defends Controversial Finish To Punk vs. Cena

20

– WWE referee Chad Patton was interviewed by WWE.com after the controversial finish to the CM Punk vs. John Cena match at WWE Night of Champions. For those who missed it, John Cena was originally declared the winner and new champion via pinfall, but because Cena’s shoulders were also down, the match was ruled a draw and CM Punk retained.

Patton defended his officiating to WWE.com and also tweeted this:

– With Jerry Lawler still in the hospital recovering from a heart attack last week, PWInsider.com reports that Lawler’s job as a WWE announcer is not in jeopardy. Vince McMahon reportedly told Lawler to take as much time as he needs to get healthy and his announcing job is waiting for him as soon as he’s ready to return. That said, even though doctors told Lawler he can probably wrestle again, WWE is reportedly against the idea.

– Speaking of Cody Rhodes, his girlfriend, former WWE Diva Brandi Reed, took a dig at Sin Cara on Twitter during Night of Champions:

– As reported over the weekend, JBL will be doing commentary once again at tonight’s RAW. JBL got mixed reviews backstage for his commentary work at Night of Champions. The feeling was that did a good job, but was rusty and made a few mistakes earlier in the evening. JBL was doing his “homework” backstage before the show, getting himself up to speed on WWE’s characters and storylines.

– United States Champion Antonio Cesaro and Aksana spoke to WWE.com after Cesaro’s win over Zack Ryder at Night of Champions. The US Champion mocked Ryder by saying “Woo, Woo, Woo You Know It” in five different languages.

– Speaking of Cesaro, his next feud will be against Brodus Clay.

– Jim Ross tweeted his thoughts on Michael Cole and JBL doing commentary at Night of Champions:

– WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz spoke with WWE.com after retaining his title in the Fatal 4 Way match at Night of Champions. After announcing earlier in the night that he’d be filing a formal complaint against Booker T for making him defend his title against 3 people at once, he said he’ll no longer be filing the complaint. He was able to defeat 3 top WWE superstars without being able to see (a lucha mask was put on him during the match) and he’s now the most must-see Intercontinental Champion of all-time.

STAMFORD, Conn., September 16, 2012 – WWE (NYSE: WWE) today announced a partnership with Susan G. JBL Blogs About Returning To The Announcer’s Table At Night Of Champions

7

John Layfield (JBL) posted this blog on Facebook.com talking about his return to the announcer’s booth at WWE Night of Champions, his Seven Summits mountain climbing adventure and more:

“Had a blast filling in for Jerry Lawler last night at Night of Champions, really rusty-but was wonderful to be back.

“I’m off to Africa Friday to climb the highest peak, Kilimanjaro, to raise money for the kids program I started in Bermuda-working with great folks there to make a difference.

“I was asked Thursday (or Wed night, not sure) this week to do the PPV last night for Jerry. Was honored to do so. Jerry and I share a birthday with our mutual friend Dutch Mantell, always had a running joke about that with Dutch-never thought I would fill in for Jerry.

“I am trying to be the 349th person (at least by last records that I have seen) to climb all Seven Summits-the highest mountain on all seven continents. Thanks to WWE 100% of money raised goes to the kids.

“My goal is to plant a WWE flag on all the summits with Mt Everest being last in 2014. Don’t know if I will make it, but I plan on trying-just as I tell my kids I work with that they must do. I’m trying to lead by example.

“I weigh 245 pounds, lowest since I was 20 years old, been training hard and in best shape (at least cardio wise) I have ever been.

“Long story short, I didn’t plan on filling in for Jerry and I am sure he didn’t plan on having a heart attack. I wish him well as he is a good friend. And, that’s his spot-not mine. I was asked to fill in and I did.

“Long term, I don’t know what is the future other than my climbs and my kids program in Bermuda. www.SevenSummitsforKids.com is the place you can see what I am talking about-though it is not as updated as I would like.

“I love the WWE, I will always consider it home and if they need me to fill in or come back to do something, I have always been open to that. We both have never discussed it as they never had a need and since they didn’t have a need, I never reached out.

“I thought there were some fantastic performances last night, really enjoyed being there watching this crew put on a great PPV. I was VERY rusty, especially at times-but had a blast.

“Get well soon Jerry!”

Sheamus Interview: Lawler’s Heart Attack, The Cloverleaf, Ziggler Cashing In & More

Busted Open satellite radio show with Sheamus

Sheamus on the banning of the Brogue Kick: I understand you have to keep evolving and keep adding moves to your arsenal. There are certain guys you cant use certain moves on. The great thing about the Brogue kick was I could literally use that on anybody. Like those are always the greatest moves, the RKO, the Stone Cold Stunner, even the Pedigree. Moves like that can be used on anybody at anytime. The Brogue is definitely my move and it has brought me a lot of success in the WWE. But I always keep evolving and adding moves and just trying to keep getting better and better. The cloverleaf is a move that was mastered by Dean Malenko in WCW. He has made hundreds of superstars tap out and I am just very appreciative of him to give me the move and allow me to use the move which has been pretty successful the last few weeks.”

On his chemistry between him and Alberto Del Rio: It really started back in Miami. We had a few bumps in the road from the start because John Lauranaitis made a Fatal 4 way at Over The Limit. Then I was supposed to face Del Rio at No Way Out and of course he got knocked out by a Great Khali chop, which I will tell you right now, you might as well drop a frying pan or a brick on your head with that thing because that thing is the most painful move I have ever experienced in my life. I took it in a battle royal at WrestleMania 27 and I have to tell you there was a bump on my head the size of Mount Everest. So we got off to a rocky start but then we got back in, we have had 2 matches so far and he tried to cheat me out last time at Summerslam so he got a shoe in the face. So I think we are sick of looking at each other at this stage and we do have a lot of chemistry, but we are sick of looking at each other and I think right now this PPV match at Night of Champions, I’m hoping it’s the last we see each other for quite some time.

Sheamus on the backstage reaction to Jerry Lawler: Jerry Lawler is part of the WWE family. He is loved by everybody. He has been with the WWE for years and he is loved by the fans and by the superstars. I didn’t really know what was going on. It happened during the Bryan/Kane versus Primetime Players match. I just looked up at the screen and saw all the fans turning to the left when Bryan was on the top rope. There is a lot going on backstage where everyone is doing their own thing and I just happen to turn and said to myself “what’s going on?” It looked like a fight was happening or something. Then during the Del Rio/Tyson Kidd match, I saw Jerry Lawler being rushed to the back obviously with the EMT’s and the doctors. So literally before my match I didn’t know what was going on. Everybody was literally on the edge of their seats trying to find out what was happening with Jerry. Everyone was so concerned and extremely worried. I have to give praise to the EMT’s because they were right there with Jerry as soon as it happened along with the doctor. They never gave up and stayed with him the whole time. They kept trying to revive him. They never gave up for one second. They weren’t in any hurry to move him to an ambulance until they got those vital signs and his heart going again. We all have to give them credit for saving his life.

Was it hard to concentrate on his match with David Otunga after the incident: When you go out there all that goes through your mind is ‘how is Jerry doing?’ My thoughts were with Jerry. But you just have to do what you have to do. I was more concerned however on finding out Jerry’s status and how he was doing. I mean I don’t like Otunga anyway so beating him was fun and I can do that with my eyes closed. I was mainly concerned with getting to the back and seeing how Jerry was.

More thoughts on Jerry Lawler: From my own experience, ever since I came to the WWE Jerry has been so helpful to my career and helpful in giving me advice. Even on commentary he has done nothing but try to help build my character and help get me over with everybody. Everybody was concerned for him. Everybody was panicking. I’m telling you right now there were a lot of sleepless nights on Monday and Tuesday for a lot of the WWE family.

On his ascend to one of the top faces of the company: It all started with the WrestleMania match because it was a shock to everybody. I always talk to Daniel Bryan about this, and I think its something that’s very important. The “Yes” thing really kicked off after Mania. I remember going in to the Extreme Rules match, I remember Brock Lesnar taking on Cena and there was a lot of hype for that match but me and Bryan were talking about how people really wanted to see me and Bryan at Extreme Rules. To me we were right alongside Brock and Cena because of what happened at WrestleMania. We went into Mania and not a lot of people were talking about our match. There was no real hype for our match.

We knew we could tear it up at WrestleMania, but the way things happened afterwards has been phenomenal. Bryan has gone off and has had one hell of a run and had all those great matches with CM Punk for the WWE championship. I’ll be honest my match with him was one of the best matches of my career without a doubt. It’s probably the same on his side. But it’s always about staying the course and staying true to who you are. But if you saw the promo Cena had with Punk this past Monday, it shows why he is the best in the business. It’s no secret to John that I’m hungry and I’m not satisfied with just the World Heavyweight championship. I want to be the face of the company. That’s what I want to be and that’s why I work so hard. I want to be the man and be in John’s position, but he sets the standards for everybody else. That promo he had with Punk on Monday was out of this world. It was phenomenal.

His thoughts on Dolph Ziggler and him cashing in at anytime: The thing about Ziggler is that he has literally worked his backside off for years now and he really is picking up steam and has come out and shown even more what he can do in the ring. He is obviously the Money in the Bank winner. He has tried cashing in on me a couple of times and either getting his head kicked off or getting RKO’d, hence the match he is having with Randy Orton at Night of Champions, just because Orton stopped him from cashing in. The danger is always there, but let’s be honest I am going up against Alberto Del Rio without the Brogue Kick with potentially David Otunga and Ricardo Rodriguez at ringside. I’m confident in beating Del Rio but there is the chance of Dolph cashing in, but that’s what keeps the WWE interesting, keeps everyone on their toes and keeps everyone guessing.

Kim Kardashian Buddies Up With Former Diva, John Cena’s Pre-Night of Champions Message, Maryse Loses Dog

WWE Reportedly Steering Clear Of All Recent TNA Talent

13

Don’t expect the likes of Alex Shelley, Velvet Sky, Devon, Angelina Love or even Hall of Famer Ric Flair to pop up in a WWE ring anytime soon. According to Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer, Vince McMahon’s company is steering clear of any and all recently affiliated TNA Wrestling talent while the two grappling organizations do battle in court.

On May 23, 2012, TNA Entertainment, LLC. filed a lawsuit in Nashville, Tennessee against World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. and Brian Wittenstein, a former office worker for both organizations. TNA accused WWE of obtaining secret contract information in an attempt to poach their talent in violation of Tennessee’s Uniform Trade Secrets Act.

Wittenstein, who worked for TNA Wrestling for three years, was terminated on August 3, 2011. At that time, he entered into a Separation Agreement and General Release, preventing him from disclosing certain confidential TNA information. TNA alleges that Wittenstein violated the agreement by downloading confidential TNA trade secrets and providing that information to WWE after joining the organization months later. Although WWE fired Wittenstein and alerted TNA officials as to the disclosure of the information, TNA claims WWE waited three weeks to notify them and has used the confidential information, including data regarding wrestler compensation, to recruit contracted TNA talent to work for WWE. Wittenstein’s contract with TNA had specifically ordered that he not share confidential information about the organization after his employment ceased.

Matt Morgan, who had teased joining WWE since concluding his contractual obligations to TNA in June, resurfaced at Saturday’s house show in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Dressed in street clothes, Morgan entered the ring through the crowd and laid out Robbie E. Meltzer wrote on the F4WOnline.com message board regarding Morgan’s apparently renewed partnership with TNA, “I guess that tells you about that TNA lawsuit now since they didn’t take Morgan.”

It has also been speculated that Alex Shelley and Ric Flair could wind up in WWE now that both individuals are free agents. Meltzer, however, reveals that the organization is not negotiating with either talent despite being legally able to.

“Nobody is talking about Shelley and they won’t even officially talk to Flair even though his non-compete is up,” he wrote.

Following the lawsuit filing, it was reported that TNA was looking to cut costs by restructuring talent contracts when they expired. This ploy appears to have led to the respective departures of Devon and Velvet Sky since both talents reportedly left the organization due to their financial terms not being reached on new deals.

Rob Terry Says He Wants To Be The Face Of TNA Wrestling, Brooke Hogan Changes Her Look

13

– Though presently the bodyguard for TNA Wrestling star Robbie E, Rob Terry aspires to come into his own and become the star attraction of the Orlando-based promotion.

“My goal in the wrestling world is to become the Impact Wrestling world heavyweight champion and the face of Impact Wrestling,” he told BodyBuilding.com in an interviews. “I’d love to meet as many of my loyal supporters as I can. Impact Wrestling has some of the best fans in the world.”

He also revealed that his dream opponent is Hulk Hogan. Regarding “The Hulkster,” he states, “He has done so much in this industry and was one of the first wrestlers to inspire me.”

The 6-foot-5, 295 pounds grappler uses bodybuilding to hone his massive physique and competitive edge. He says of his overall philosophy on training, “My philosophy on training boils down to one thing and one thing only: intensity. Intensity is what I bring to the wrestling ring and to the weight room; it’s what takes me out of my comfort zone and pushes me to the next level. There are many training routines out there. People tend to jump from one program to another. I believe that no matter what program you’re using, if you apply intensity, believe in what you’re doing, and give 100%, you’re going to grow.”

Terry also reveals his workout routine, his biggest lifts, how he wound up in TNA Wrestling and more. The full interview is available here.
