RAW Rating, Lesnar’s Meltdown Partially A Work & More

34

– Monday’s RAW Supershow drew a 3.3 rating with 4,880,000 viewers. The show did hours of 3.41 and 3.27, so hour two lost viewership once again.

– As we’ve been reporting here on the site, Brock Lesnar did throw a tantrum backstage after Extreme Rules, f4wonline.com is reporting that it was partially a ‘work’ on the locker room as a way to convince people that Cena going over was the right decision. Lesnar was upset about the finish, but “some, if not most” of the situation was not entirely legitimate.

WWE tried to have word leak out on Monday that Lesnar had quit the company, likely to get the “dirt sheets” reporting it so people would be surprised when Lesnar showed up on RAW. However, by the time that this was going on, it was already out there that Lesnar was at the arena and going to be at RAW.

More Details On Brock Lesnar’s Meltdown After Extreme Rules

42

As seen on Monday’s RAW, Brock Lesnar was written off television with his WWE contract status “up in the air” following the attack on Triple H.  We reported on Monday that Brock Lesnar had a meltdown backstage after his loss to John Cena at Extreme Rules. Lesnar was said to be absolutely furious about John Cena’s post-match promo – because the original plan was for John Cena to get stretchered out and look “totally incapacitated” to  sell the beating he took from Lesnar during the match. Lesnar felt that he was made to look weak and WWE officials double crossed him.

WWE’s new mentality with Lesnar, according to f4wonline.com, is that he’s getting paid a ton of money to work a limited schedule – so he should be used to put over their top talents. People in Lesnar’s camp were under the impression that WWE might have been testing Lesnar by changing plans without telling him and having Cena deliver the post-match speech to the live crowd.

Lesnar went nuts backstage in front of everyone, tearing things up and throwing a tantrum. Lesnar specifically yelled at Marc Carano, the assistant to John Laurinaitis, about how things are a mess and “everything is wrong” in WWE. Some felt that part of the tantrum was just an act by Lesnar to show to the locker room that he has more power than WWE and can walk away any time he wants.

During his backstage rampage, Lesnar also suggested that Cena intentionally pulled down the top rope at Extreme Rules, causing him to nearly blow out his knee in the bad spot towards the end of the match where they both tumbled out to the floor. Despite what Lesnar said about Cena pulling down the rope, Lesnar and Cena are believed to be on good terms and this could have also been Lesnar being overly dramatic and worked up.

Lesnar relationship with WWE remains complicated. WWE is going to have their hands full over the next year booking Lesnar due to his contract, which only requires limited appearances.

Following Lesnar’s attack on Triple H, it appears WWE is building towards a match between the two at SummerSlam. After that, Lesnar will almost certainly work the remaining “big” pay-per-views (Survivor Series, Royal Rumble) leading up to WrestleMania 29, which is will be his final match with the company.

Major Heat On Mysterio, Bad Ref Error On RAW, Neidhart

25

– As you can imagine, there is major heat on Rey Mysterio right now for his latest Wellness Policy violation. People are in disbelief that Mysterio is getting paid big money to sit at home while recovering from his latest injury – yet he reportedly came up positive for a narcotic drug.

Some people think that Kevin Nash’s recent tweet about a friend being released from WWE was referencing Rey Mysterio, but at this time, there has been no official announcement about him being released. He is currently serving a 60 day suspension and will be cleared to return to the ring at the end of May.

– A major error occurred on Monday’s RAW. Chris Jericho was supposed to defeat Big Show by count out in the Beat the Clock Challenge match, but the referee messed up the  count. While Jericho was going to win by 1 second, the plan all along was for Daniel Bryan to win the series and challenge CM Punk for the WWE Title.

– As noted several months ago here on the website, Jim Neidhart had a hearing on April 12th and was sent to jail, where he has remained since then. Neidhart will soon be heading to the Salvation Army in Tampa, FL for a substance abuse in-house rehab program.

It was announced early this week that Chris Jericho’s heavy metal band FOZZY will be performing on the upcoming Rockstar Uproar Tour, which takes place from August 15th through September 30th. One of the tour dates is August 19th, the night of SummerSlam.

During a recent red carpet interview at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards, Jericho revealed that he’ll be taking a break from WWE soon to tour with Fozzy this summer.

While WWE’s live events page still lists Chris Jericho on the SummerSlam preview page, it remains to be seen if he will appear on the card.

Jericho is not currently advertised for any shows (with the exception of SummerSlam) from August until the RAW Supershow on October 1st from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, OK. He is also advertised for the WWE overseas tour which starts in late October.

That said, there’s a good chance that Chris Jericho will be written off WWE television prior to August 15th and eventually return to WWE full time this fall.

Yoshi Tatsu Rants About Lord Tensai’s Name & Vows To Defeat Him

24

Despite getting crushed by Lord Tensai several weeks ago, Yoshi Tatsu continues to rant about Tensai, stating that Tensai’s name is in bad taste and vowing to defeat Lord Tensai. Here’s what Tatusu wrote:

“As of today, I am planning to post several tweets regarding my thoughts and feelings toward Lord Tensai. First of all, I have a strong reason why I must defeat Lord Tensai. As in my Japanese lesson, “tensai” means natural disaster.”

“As everyone knows, Japan experienced a major earthquake and tsunami on March 11th of last year. More than 15,000 people lost their lives, over 5,000 people are still missing, and more than 5,000 people were injured. In addition, over 130,000 people lost their homes. Sadly, the recovery has been very slow. Many people are still living in temporary housing, without jobs. Moreover, the Japanese people haven’t been able to recover from the grief of losing family members, including children who lost their parents.”

“Out of respect, I strongly urge Lord Tensai to change his name. As Japanese superstar of WWE, I cannot tolerate him using this name during Japanese appearance. Even though he is tremendously big and very strong, I will defeat him someday. Japan was defeated by natural disasters – “TENSAI”. And I, Yoshi Tatsu is the one who defeats that “TENSAI”. When I beat him, I will make him change his name. This is #YoshiRevolution Episode 1.”

Hulk Hogan’s “New Concept” For TNA Possibly Revealed

38

Hulk Hogan recently told the New York Post that he has a “new concept” that will “change the business” and be a “momentum shifting” idea. Hogan is so confident that the idea will work that he told the post:

“We are going to give more power to the fans, make them more involved and more important. I can’t say much more, but I can say this, I’m either going to be really right on this one or really wrong. If I’m wrong, you probably won’t see me again because I’ll be hightailing it out of here.”

Now, word has gotten out about what the concept is – and we’re left wondering whether Hogan’s days in TNA could be numbered.

At Monday’s Impact Wrestling tapings, the word going around the TNA locker room is that the new concept is something where TNA will be calling on their fans to film TNA wrestlers whenever they may encounter them, in or out of the ring, TMZ/paparazzi-style.

Sources in TNA say talent is not thrilled with the idea, with people joking about Hogan encouraging “candid footage” of TNA stars – considering how badly his own image has been hurt by TMZ coverage (his divorce, Nick Hogan’s car wreck, his sex tape, etc.).

Brock Lesnar Goes Ballistic Backstage At Extreme Rules

78

Brock Lesnar’s match with John Cena at Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view got rave reviews from most fans who saw the show, but Lesnar went ballistic backstage after the match and was screaming at WWE officials and ripping apart the locker room.

According to PWinsider.com, the huge blow-up took place because of the promo John Cena cut after the match.

The original plan was for Cena to be so badly hurt by Lesnar that even though he won, he would be stretchered out, which would keep Lesnar looking strong.

Lesnar perceived Cena’s speech as a double cross by WWE officials and totally lost it backstage.

The angle on RAW with Lesnar and Triple H and Lesnar’s temporary departure from WWE television was the plan all along, but relations between Lesnar and WWE are not good at the moment.

WWE RAW Results: April 30, 2012

24

Tonight’s WWE RAW Supershow opens up with a look back at John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar at Extreme Rules and Cena’s post-match comments.

Laurinaitis says he changed WWE in one night and did it for the fans, did it for People Power. Laurinaitis says the fans should thank him for bringing the most dangerous athlete to WWE. A man who’s face will be synonymous with WWE for years to come. A man who beat up John Cena so bad that he will never be the same. HHH says he wants Lesnar here and the WWE fans want him here. They might not love or like Lesnar but they want to see him, Triple H says. They want to see him in a rematch against John Cena. They want to see him vs. CM Punk, Randy Orton and Sheamus, he says. HHH says if Lesnar wants to do it, he’s going to do it under the original contract he agreed to. HHH says he will understand if Lesnar feels wronged and wants to go home with his loss to Cena in the books. HHH says he doesn’t want that and neither does Lesnar. HHH asks Brock what is it going to be. Laurinaitis says it’s not fair to put Brock in this position. HHH says this is between he and Brock now. Laurinaitis won’t shut up and it pisses HHH off.

HHH asks Lesnar if they have a deal. Laurinaitis says HHH is being disrespectful and he may have to address this to the Board of Directors. HHH turns around to Laurinaitis but gets attacked by Lesnar. Lesnar beats HHH down and takes him to the corner. HHH fights back with right hands but Lesnar drops him in the Kimura Lock. Lesnar tightens the hold before Big Show, R-Truth, Sheamus and Kofi Kingston run down for the save. Lesnar leaves the ring as security comes down. Trainers check on HHH in the ring and he thinks his arm is broken. Lesnar fumes at ringside as security moves him to the ramp and Big Show looks on with Sheamus from the ring. The crowd chants “you suck” at Lesnar as HHH is helped to his feet in the ring by Big Show and others.
