Hulk Hogan’s “New Concept” For TNA Possibly Revealed

38

Hulk Hogan recently told the New York Post that he has a “new concept” that will “change the business” and be a “momentum shifting” idea. Hogan is so confident that the idea will work that he told the post:

“We are going to give more power to the fans, make them more involved and more important. I can’t say much more, but I can say this, I’m either going to be really right on this one or really wrong. If I’m wrong, you probably won’t see me again because I’ll be hightailing it out of here.”

Now, word has gotten out about what the concept is – and we’re left wondering whether Hogan’s days in TNA could be numbered.

At Monday’s Impact Wrestling tapings, the word going around the TNA locker room is that the new concept is something where TNA will be calling on their fans to film TNA wrestlers whenever they may encounter them, in or out of the ring, TMZ/paparazzi-style.

Sources in TNA say talent is not thrilled with the idea, with people joking about Hogan encouraging “candid footage” of TNA stars – considering how badly his own image has been hurt by TMZ coverage (his divorce, Nick Hogan’s car wreck, his sex tape, etc.).

Brock Lesnar Goes Ballistic Backstage At Extreme Rules

78

Brock Lesnar’s match with John Cena at Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view got rave reviews from most fans who saw the show, but Lesnar went ballistic backstage after the match and was screaming at WWE officials and ripping apart the locker room.

According to PWinsider.com, the huge blow-up took place because of the promo John Cena cut after the match.

The original plan was for Cena to be so badly hurt by Lesnar that even though he won, he would be stretchered out, which would keep Lesnar looking strong.

Lesnar perceived Cena’s speech as a double cross by WWE officials and totally lost it backstage.

The angle on RAW with Lesnar and Triple H and Lesnar’s temporary departure from WWE television was the plan all along, but relations between Lesnar and WWE are not good at the moment.

WWE RAW Results: April 30, 2012

Tonight’s WWE RAW Supershow opens up with a look back at John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar at Extreme Rules and Cena’s post-match comments.

– We get a graphic that says Monday Night RAW Starring Brock Lesnar. Justin Roberts is in the ring and introduces John Laurinaitis. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler welcome us to a sold out RAW from the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio. Laurinaitis makes his way to the ring and is all smiles.

Laurinaitis says he changed WWE in one night and did it for the fans, did it for People Power. Laurinaitis says the fans should thank him for bringing the most dangerous athlete to WWE. A man who’s face will be synonymous with WWE for years to come. A man who beat up John Cena so bad that he will never be the same. HHH says Brock’s days of holding up WWE are through. HHH says the private jet that flew Lesnar here today won’t be taking him back home unless he wants to pay for it. They want to see him vs. CM Punk, Randy Orton and Sheamus, he says. HHH says if Lesnar wants to do it, he’s going to do it under the original contract he agreed to. HHH says he will understand if Lesnar feels wronged and wants to go home with his loss to Cena in the books. HHH says he doesn’t want that and neither does Lesnar. HHH asks Brock what is it going to be. Laurinaitis says it’s not fair to put Brock in this position. HHH says this is between he and Brock now. Laurinaitis won’t shut up and it pisses HHH off.

HHH asks Lesnar if they have a deal. Laurinaitis says HHH is being disrespectful and he may have to address this to the Board of Directors. HHH turns around to Laurinaitis but gets attacked by Lesnar. Lesnar beats HHH down and takes him to the corner. HHH fights back with right hands but Lesnar drops him in the Kimura Lock. Hulk Hogan Plans To Leave TNA If New Concept Doesn’t Work

38

Hulk Hogan was recently interviewed by the New York Post and said he plans to leave TNA if his new idea for Impact Wrestling does not work out:

“We are going to give more power to the fans, make them more involved and more important. I can’t say much more, but I can say this, I’m either going to be really right on this one or really wrong. If I’m wrong, you probably won’t see me again because I’ll be hightailing it out of here.”

John Cena Confirmed For RAW, No “New Face Of WWE”

23

– John Cena confirmed on Twitter this morning that he will be at tonight’s WWE RAW Supershow from Dayton, Ohio:

“Making medical rounds now to find out what is up. I will be on #RAW to let everyone know. #nevergiveup”

Brock Lesnar will also be there to react to his loss last night.

Speaking of Cena and Lesnar, the WWE website has an article up talking about how there is no “new face of WWE” –

“While the world waits to learn the fate of John Cena, who alluded to possibly “going away for a while” in the aftermath of the brawl on pay-per-view, the WWE Universe takes solace in knowing there will be no “new face of WWE.” On the contrary, in the fallout of Extreme Rules 2012, the face of WWE still features a tightly formed salute below the brim of a bright green hat. For now.”

Backstage Reaction To Extreme Rules, Punk-Jericho Feud

37

The general consensus backstage at Extreme Rules was that the show was a success and came off well on television. The CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho Chicago Street Fight and the Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena matches in particular received rave reviews.

There was a lot of talk about Cena going over Lesnar in the main event, with many thinking that Brock Lesnar should not have lost his first match back in WWE. Lesnar is a very unique special attraction as a former UFC Heavyweight Champion and the argument against him losing to Cena is that now he could be perceived as “just another superstar.”

That said, WWE management loved the energy in the arena for the Lesnar vs. Cena match and it definitely came off like a special match.

As for the CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho, it’s expected that their feud will continue.

Update On Who Will Star In WWE Studios’ The Marine 3: Homefront

32

There are conflicting reports going around regarding the upcoming WWE Studios film The Marine 3: Homefront and whether John Cena will be starring in the movie. At this time, nobody has signed on as the lead role.

At one point, Cena was considered for the movie with the idea that he would pick back up where the first Marine movie left off. Randy Orton was then attached to the movie, but WWE pulled Orton from the movie due to Orton being kicked out of the Marines when he was younger and the Marines he served with complaining about a “deserter” portraying a Marine in WWE’s movie.

Other wrestlers under consideration for the lead role have included CM Punk, JTG, Cody Rhodes and a few others.

WWE officials have reportedly decided on the Superstar who will appear in the movie but have been holding off on the announcement

Filming for The Marine 3: Homefront begins in June.

Backstage News On Rey Mysterio’s Wellness Violation

29

WWE announced last week that Rey Mysterio has been suspended for 60 days for his second violation of the company Wellness Policy, but the failed drug test actually took place back on February 13th. According to reliable sources and other reputable news sites,  Mysterio reportedly tested positive for amphetamines.

Rey showed up to the RAW Supershow on February 13th in San Diego and was informed that he had to take a drug test immediately. When he was informed about the failed drug test for amphetamines, Mysterio was shocked and denied using the drug – swearing that he’s been living a clean lifestyle.

Rey believes he failed the test because of a medication he took that caused the positive for amphetamines. WWE did not buy his story as they went public with the failure last week.

John Cena Possibly Injured & Taking Time Off

59

John Cena appeared to have injured his left arm during his match with Brock Lesnar at tonight’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view, and hinted that he may be leaving for awhile.

After defeating the former UFC heavyweight champion at tonight’s event, Cena took the mic and addressed the crowd.

“I’m probably going to get sent home for speaking when I’m not spoken to, but I think I’m headed home anyway. And if I know my boss, he’s going to kick me out the door, but he’s going to do it on air, so I hope this is for the world to see.”

“Chicago, I know this is CM Punk’s town, but above all else, this is a wrestling town. Tonight, you people were supposed to see the extreme. I’ve got no left arm, I’m tasting my own blood… and I’m damn proud to say it was in Chicago, IL.”

“All of us — good guys, bad guys, big guys, small guys — all of us give everything we have every night for you guys. And if I gotta take a vacation, so be it. If I’m going away for a while, I just wanna say thanks for one hell of a last ride. I feel great tonight, even with this Chicago crowd that may or may not like me. I listen to that and I think, if I’m going out, I wouldn’t want to do it any other way! Thank you guys, go home safe!”

While heading to the back, Cena told officials that he couldn’t move his arm, but he knows it’s not torn.

RAW Preview: Brock Lesnar, Extreme Rules Fallout

22

Tonight’s WWE RAW Supershow takes place from the Wright State University’s Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio and will feature fallout from last night’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view.

After coming up short last night against John Cena in his first match in over 8 years, Brock Lesnar is scheduled to appear tonight on RAW. There was talk over the weekend that Lesnar might wrestle tonight, but that is not confirmed.

At Extreme Rules, John Laurinaitis was seen in a backstage segment taking a phone call from Triple H. Laurinaitis later revealed that he would address what he and Triple H spoke about on Monday’s WWE RAW Supershow. Michael Cole later announced that Triple H would “be a part of RAW” tonight.

As of Monday morning, WWE is still advertising John Cena for RAW, but it remains to see whether he’ll be there. Cena is scheduled to team up with CM Punk vs. Kane and Chris Jericho in the dark match main event.

Riggs says while Bagwell is in “rough” shape, he was discharged from intensive care after undergoing successful surgery on Saturday.

Bagwell was driving in Georgia on Monday when he lost control of his Jeep, which flipped on the road and left him with several broken bones in his neck and face, including a snapped jaw. The former WCW Superstar called his wife at 1:35 p.m. to tell her that he was about to suffer a seizure while driving. He was taken to nearby WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he remained under doctors’ watch in an intensive care unit through the week.

On Friday, Bagwell’s wife Judy stated to TMZ.com that he had been taken off the breathing tube, was able to eat solid foods and talk. Fellow WCW alumni Sting, Rick Steiner, Scott Steiner, Diamond Dallas Page and Riggs, among others, have also kept in contact with Bagwell since the accident.

“It’s really helped that he’s been contacted by friends … he’s really feeling the love,” says Bagwell’s wife.

According to the official Facebook page of Big Time Wrestling (link), Tammy “Sunny” Sytch no-showed the promotion’s Friday and Saturday shows in Maine. She also no-showed Live Pro Wrestling on Thursday after the promotion paid for her flight and half of her appearance fee. She was replaced by fellow WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas on all three shows.

“Thanks to all the fans who joined us in Saco and Presque Isle! We are very sorry that Tammy Sytch’s personal demons prevented her from showing up to the towns. Mr. USA Tony Atlas was a class act as a replacement! We’ll see you all again soon!” the promotion stated Sunday afternoon in a message that was deleted hours later.

Sytch has no-showed several advertised appearances in the past year including four other bookings since March. She was recently scheduled to appear for American Icon Autographs at WrestleReunion in Toronto, Ontario but “personal issues” prevented her from appearing at the event. American Icon Autographs stated they have no intention on working with her again after having bailed on the organization a third time.

The WWE Hall of Famer has been battling health problems in recent months; she has stated multiple times on her personal Facebook page being sick and/or hospitalized. Sytch claimed Sunday evening via Facebook that she suffered a concussion and a black eye after “taking a bad fall a week ago in the rain.”
