Bret Hart Says Ultimate Warrior Was Supposed To Lose To Him

15

Arda Ocal (@arda_ocal) of The Score Television Network once again sat down with WWE Hall of Famer Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart. Highlights are as follows:

Wrestlemania VIII with “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and winning the Intercontinental Championship: “When I realized I was going to wrestle Roddy Piper, my gut instinct told me that Piper was going to keep the title for a while, and I would sort of be back up to him. It didnt work out like that, and I’m glad it didn’t because I kind of had my heart set on a good healthy long run as the Intercontinental champion. I thought at the time I got the title that I earned it and I wanted to have my chance. When i lost it to “The Mountie” I thought ‘They never gave me my chance.’”

On Piper ‘passing the torch’ to him and other wrestlers not doing the same: “For him to pass the torch down to me, kind of thing, was a pretty big step for me. At that time a lot of wrestlers didn’t want to make that kind of effort for me, and I’m not sure why or what their arguments might have been. So many guys when I look back on my career, like even when I won the World Title I was supposed to go over on ‘Warrior’, i would have gone over on ‘Warrior’ at the ‘Rumble’, never happened. I was supposed to wrestle Jake Roberts first at ‘Survivor Series’, never happened,” … “its too bad in the case of Jake Roberts, he’s a guy that, I had this great career and never wrestled Jake Roberts one time.”

On creating the ladder match and Shawn Michaels stealing the idea: “[Vince] told me to pick anybody I wanted, I said ‘I’ll pick Shawn’ because I was good friends with Shawn back then. I went to Shawn and said ‘We’re going to do a ladder match’ and he didn’t know what it was either. I tried to explain it to him. I knew it was a million dollar idea. Once I showed him how to do it I knew it would be a great idea” … “And then Shawn stole then idea from me. It was the idea that was the the million dollar idea. A lot of guys could have had a great ladder match, a lot of guys have. But it was the idea that I brought forth that they stole from me.”

Dixie Carter Addresses Restraining Order Filed Against WWE

28

TNA Entertainment Releases Statement Regarding Current Litigation

NASHVILLE, Tenn — TNA Entertainment, LLC President Dixie Carter releases a statement in regard to the recent TRO (Temporary Restraining Order) the company filed against WWE in the Davidson County Circuit Court in Nashville, Tennessee.

TNA President Dixie Carter states, “We were not surprised that the Court originally granted a swift temporary restraining order against WWE to prohibit interference with TNA’s contracts and business relationships. I’m pleased that the Court has now replaced that temporary measure with the most recent judicial Order. The Judge’s current Order sends a strong message about the importance of TNA protecting its trade secrets. Obviously, the accuracy of what WWE has represented remains important, so I look forward to the discovery process and what is revealed during litigation. As always, we will vigorously protect TNA and its brand from damage at the hands of any and all sources, no matter who is involved.”

Steiner Takes Aim At Bischoff Over Recent Interview Comments

13

Scott Steiner, who parted ways with TNA Wrestling in March, has continued to fire off messages on Twitter trashing his former employer’s uppeer hierarchy. In his latest series of messages, “Big Poppa Pump” slams Eric Bischoff, Brooke Hogan and Hulk Hogan for destroying TNA in his eyes. He also takes issue with Bischoff’s comments regarding him during a recent interview.

When asked of Steiner’s scathing Twitter rants, Bischoff said, “Scott is a 50-year-old man and is at a stage of his life where in his mind he is a much bigger star than in reality and he is having a hard time adjusting to that. It is sad to see, especially with people at one time you thought were friends become so bitter because their identities are so diluted in this wrestling character that they think it is their life. When that chapter of their life closes they can no longer perform to the level they need to perform to be able to compete with the younger talent.

“Some guys are able to adjust to that very well and just move on but other people like Scott Steiner just become bitter. I hope he finds a way to look back at his career and realise he was very fortunate, he made a lot of money, got to see the world and got to do things very few people got to do. I would like to see Scott become less bitter, he will be a much happier person.”

Steiner responds:

Brooke Tessmacher will now be called miss tessmacher bcuz hogan wants it that way…..really

How about brooke A and brooke B …A is for amazon B is for beautiful..guess which brooke is the amazon

Ive always said hogan n bitchoff are car salesman and are the best at it but how do these con men

Convince a company that they have brought nothing but bad storylines and bad ratings and trying

To save money hire their siblings who are both worthless, they were paying garrett bitchoff more money

To go thru school than they are paying most of their cruiserweights and he still cant throw

A believeable clothesline,fn bullshit

Leaving one cunt and going to another..bitchoff did an interview and all he has

To do is say what im saying isnt true but he cant so he tries too convince whoever that im bitter

No im telling the truth and im saying what everybody wishes they could in tna but cant,i am the voice

For these guys and im trying to save tna, bcuz ive seen this same bullshit before in WCW,where is hogans

And bitchoffs accountability, then he said he thought we were friends…really..hogan thought we were

Friends bcuz i gave him the # of the Dr who did my back surgery, and you thought we were friends bcuz

…WHY….you have an inflated opinion of yurself bcuz you are viewed by 99% of the wrestlers that

Were in WCW as the jackoff who made David Arquette champion and eventually running WCW into

The ground, and now for those wrestlers who werent in WCW but know about it you are a jackoff that

Doesnt know shit about booking and are destroying the fanbase of TNA

And anybody that knows wrestling; once you lose fans its not like turning the faucet back on it takes awhile

To get those fans back and sometimes you dont get them back

Thats why TNA should be in a panick bcuz these 3 assholes have brought bad ratings for 21/2 yrs

Bitchoffs then says when he was in wwe he wishes he would have picked vince’s mind more….are you

Fucking kidding me …bitchoff the only time vince let you in his office was to save you from the guys from

WCW kicking your ass,At raw flair went up to bitchoff and slapped the shit out of him and bitchoff being

The cunt that he is did nothing, then Arn was going too, then pretty soon a line of guys from WCW started

To form bcuz eric was a arrogant asshole and they wanted to take their shot and Vince brought bitchoff

In his office and then tried to calm everybody down,You wonder why your son is a pussy……bcuz you are

Age is a state of mind and i feel great, put me in the ring with garrett and we’ll see who looks better

Fuck the piece of shit cant even wrestle

MAILBAG: Which Commentator Deserves a HOF Induction Next?

13

SEScoops Mailbag for June 10th

(please submit YOUR questions to [email protected])

Q: Just how damaging is it for CM Punk and the WWE Title when an announcer gets to main event RAW, but Punk does not? – Flint in Beijing, China

A: I think Punk said it best on Twitter when he said he’d rather be in the crossover segment at the top of the 10pm hour and tell a good story than be in the main event smearing condiments on another man. It devalues the title more when John Cena is featured in the main event of five straight PPV’s and BOTH World titles are relegated to the undercard. One title would be bad enough, but two? Begs the question of why they even have two in the first place.

Q: Out of all the WrestleMania main events from 1-28, which ones do you think were the best and the worst? – Anonymous

A: For my money, WrestleMania X7 is still, from top to bottom, the best Mania show to date. As for the worst, my vote would be WrestleMania 11. Not a single match above the “good” level on the entire show. Though I must say, as bad as the LT vs. Bam Bam match was (for a Mania main event, as a regular match I’ve seen far worse), I still think Cena vs. Miz at WM27 was worse.

Q: Over the years, there have been many commentators that have been great for the business. Since JR and Lawler are both HOF members, which commentator will go next into the HOF? Also, do you think Joey Styles deserves his place in the HOF? – Eric from CT

A: I don’t particularly care for Styles as an announcer, but do respect the work he did in the original ECW. The minute WWE inducted people like Vince Sr.’s limo driver into the HOF, all bets are offs far as who they can induct. Styles would be as deserving as anyone. Being that Gordon Solie, Gorila Monsoon, Bobby Heenan and Jesse Ventura are also already in there, I’d argue for a Tony Schiavone induction. Sure, he become something of a parody of himself at the end and was never really in love with the business, but his career spanned close to 20 years, he called many classic matches and was part of WCW’s boom period. Plus, I would take him over Michael Cole any day of the week.

Q: Do you think Vince McMahon will ever buy out another wrestling promotion, and if so, what promotion do you think he would buy out? – Kirk, Fort Worth, TX

A: If he was smart, he would have snatched up Ring of Honor, before Sinclair bought the promotion, and used it as a feeder system for WWE talent. Really, the only other promotion to “buy out” would be TNA when and if the time comes that either Spike TV or Bob Carter pulls the plug. For the sake of wrestling, I hope that doesn’t happen because as the sale of WCW showed, they wouldn’t do much with it besides raiding the tape library for their new network and DVD’s.
