Rima Fakih Denies Signing With WWE, Natalya Threatens Lilian

27

— “Miss USA” and Tough Enough contestant Rima Fakih has denied signing with WWE. She wrote Saturday on Twitter, “Not signed! #rumor.”

Fakih suggested last month during an interview with German celebrity gossip website Promiflash.de that she had signed a contract with WWE, stating, “You are the first to respond to me, but I can now tell you that I will definitely be part of WWE.”

— For the second consecutive night, WWE conducted an angle at a SmackDown live event where ring announcer Lilian Garcia nearly came to blows with Natalya during a heated confrontation. Fed up with the third generation wrestler’s shabby treatment of her, Garcia aggressively shoved Natalya’s jacket back at the SmackDown Diva following her loss to AJ at Saturday’s show in Manchester, England. Natalya was none too pleased with this.

“I didn’t appreciate Lilian Garcia’s attitude tonight throwing my jacket at me! Watch yourself ya little mutt!” she wrote on Twitter.

Will Undertaker Wrestle For WWE Again?, Booker T Filming Series

25

— Last week at WrestleMania XXVIII, The Undertaker and Triple H met inside Hell in a Cell in a bout that was branded as “the end of an era.” The latest issue of WWE Magazine, which features The Undertaker on the cover, plays up the “the end of an era” storyline as they ask “Will The Deadman Rise Again?”

Despite speculation that The Undertaker’s match last week may have been his last, many WWE employees now believe he is able to compete in a few more matches and will almost certainly work WrestleMania XXIX. This belief is based on The Undertaker appearing less injured following his WrestleMania outing compared to the prior year’s.

— Booker T is filming his upcoming Reality of Wrestling web series Saturday in Houston, Texas, according his Twitter account. The show will premiere on May 1 on YouTube.

— WWE will hold a live event at the Indoor Stadium in Zurich, Switzerland on November 8, 2012.

Our Lady Peace Discuss Retiring Chris Benoit’s Theme Song

26

Jon Chattman of The Huffington Post conducted an interview with Canadian alternative rock band Our Lady Peace where they discuss how they’ve had to retire Chris Benoit’s WWE theme song “Whatever” altogether because of the incomprehensible tragedy that took place five years ago.

Over a three-day period ending on June 24, 2007, Benoit killed his wife Nancy and strangled his seven-year-old son Daniel before committing suicide via hanging. Chattman, a music blogger, asks band frontman Raine Maida and guitarist Steve Mazur if they still play “Whatever” following the event.

“I couldn’t imagine singing that to be honest, it’s so tied into him and the tragedy that happened, I just couldn’t get it out of my head,” says Mazur.

Maida adds they’ve removed the song from their catalog. Chattman thinks it “sucks” they no longer play it since it’s such a “kickass” song.

Lilian Garcia To Feud With A WWE Diva?, Bella Twins Update

16

— WWE conducted an angle at Friday’s SmackDown house show at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Ireland where ring announcer Lilian Garcia nearly came to blows with Natalya during a heated confrontation. — Brie and Nikki Bella are scheduled for next week’s television events at The O2 Arena in London, England but not any house shows. As reported earlier, the twin duo is expected to part ways with WWE after their respective contracts expire on April 30.

30

Following a series of messages on Twitter blasting TNA Wrestling’s upper hierarchy, Scott Steiner has set his sights on Eric Bischoff’s son Garett. “Big Poppa Pump” says Garett hasn’t earned the right to appear on television and that his high-profile position in TNA is a disservice to the professional wrestling industry. MAILBAG: Should The Undertaker Ever Lose At WrestleMania?

35

SEScoops Mailbag for April 13th

(please submit YOUR questions to [email protected])

Q: Do you think that WWE will hire ROH star Davey Richards in the future? – Evan

A: No, I don’t. He doesn’t have the size or charisma they typically look for in a talent.

Q: What was Rhyno doing at WWE’s Hall of Fame [ceremony]? He was sitting next to Edge’s mother. Might this be an indication that he will be back with WWE? – Roberto Rivelino from Portugal

A: Rhyno is very good friends with both Edge and Christian and was in attendance to see his friend inducted. Edge even shared a funny road story from their early days involving Rhyno during his speech. I wouldn’t read into anything beyond that.

Q: Why won’t WWE recognize Andy Kaufman and add him to the Hall of Fame? He became the most hated person at one point was he was a comedian with the stuff he did in the squared circle. – Coty K.

A: WWE likes to induct celebrities into its Hall of Fame to garner publicity. While they may get some press for inducting Kaufman, and I do think he is deserving, he’s been deceased now for almost 30 years and became famous not in WWE, but in Memphis for his antics with Jerry Lawler. Both of those things work against him. Funny story is that Kaufman originally reached out to Vince McMahon Sr. about doing something with his company, but McMahon wanted nothing to do with him and he ended up in Memphis. The rest is history.

— Thursday’s episode of Impact Wrestling saw Eric Young and ODB tie the knot inside a Steel Cage. The Knockout addressed the ceremony on Twitter.

“Best thing bout gettin married is the honeymoon,I’m gonna b walkin funny for awhile,” she wrote. “Thanks to all the @IMPACTWRESTLING fans you all rock,I read all my tweets,I will see all your crazy asses in Nashville.”

The wedding was interrupted by Sarita and Rosita, who performed a striptease in a failed attempt to get Young to bail on his bride. ODB threatened Rosita over this and subsequent taunts on Twitter, writing: “really bitch,u look like a lil girl waitin to hit puberty,c your skinny ass at lockdown.”

Sunny Cancels Weekend Appearance, Battling Drug Addiction

16

WrestleReunion announced Thursday that Tammy “Sunny” Sytch’s scheduled appearance as a vendor guest for American Icon Autographs at this weekend’s convention in Toronto, Ontario, Canada has been canceled.

“Feel free to ask them why in person if you need specific details,” WrestleReunion states. “However, as we noted, she also no showed two different promotors in Miami two weeks ago.”

American Icon Autographs representative Zach Benson stated via e-mail that Sytch is currently dealing with “personal issues,” which is preventing her from appearing at the event. Following her third cancellation, they have no intention on working with her again.

“The truth is, we are also losing quite a bit of money over her cancellation, not to mention how dissapointed our company is as well. Sunny has cancelled on us twice now, and we have no intention of giving her another opportunity at this point,” Benson stated. “She seems to be having “personal issues”, and for whatever reason she is unable to attend. Cancellations are one of the few pitfalls of this business when you have to rely on celebrities. This late in the game we are unable to replace her with another guest, because we had no warning that she might not attend. It just isn’t cool no matter how you look at it.”

Highspots.com representative Michael Bochicchio claims Sytch is currently battling drug addiction. He stated via e-mail: “Sunny was a vendor guest, so there is no replacement (on our end) since we weren’t the ones to bring her in. She likely couldn’t get through the border because of her recent record and had an attorney working on the issue until recently. She is also battling drug addiction and was making it very difficult on the vendor. She missed 3 appearances this month already, so I cannot say I”m shocked that she is not attending this convention either.”

The WWE Hall of Famer has been battling health problems in recent months; she has stated multiple times on her personal Facebook page being hospitalized. Sytch was hospitalized as recently as two weeks ago, which caused her to miss her scheduled appearance for NWA Ring Warriors.
